at great prices. The plants looked like something from a
gardening magazine, they were so healthy and well packaged, I was in awe and just placed another order with them. I will be a regular customer, as I had to let my garden go for three years, because I got tired of ordering plants that arrived half dead, especially from J&P. Now , I have been sent plants that inspire me. Thank them for me.

May 22, 2009 | Out of all the orders I placed with this company they did not replace the one plant that died over winter. I even offered to pay for shipping, but in the end I am not happy with no replacement policy and everybody should be aware that buying from this company means possible disappointment. I believe in the end that the consumer must be kept happy at all costs. It is to that end companies need to be aware that there are websites like this that the consumer has the means of allowing comment and warning.

On Jun 1, 2009 12:30 PM, Brushwood Nursery responded with:I had several recent emails back and forth with deseret regarding this issue in which I explained our policies again. He claims that he now "disagrees" with them 9 months after his purchase. These terms and conditions are printed clearly on the web site and are not unusual in the mail order nursery business. It's not a "no replacement" policy but it doesn't cover winter losses. There are just too many things that can happen to a plant in the garden that have nothing to do with the quality of the plants we ship (floods, ice, drought, deer, voles, neighbor dogs, spouses "weeding" your garden...).
Brushwood Nursery grows and ships high quality plants. Customer satisfaction is very important to us and we will honor our terms and conditions in full to all customers. |

May 06, 2009 | I ordered a Huldine clematis from Brushwood a month or so ago. It arrived right on time, and was wonderfully packed. The plant was in a pot and the soil was still very moist. An insert recommended watering the plant "even if the soil was still moist" and placing in the shade for a day, which I did. I appreciated the specific extra directions.
The clematis seems very healthy and is growing very well. I would definitely buy from them again! |

April 25, 2009 | Over the past few weeks, I have received mail order clematis from five different vendors. They varied in size and price quite a bit, but I'm happy to say that all the plants are thriving and happy... from every vendor. Brushwood offered a fantastic selection, the roots on their plants are mid-size compared to the others, their prices are very reasonable (and even better with the 10% ACS discount they offer), their discount policy for bulk purchases is fantastic, and their shipping costs are much lower than any of the other vendors. The owner was friendly, quick and helpful with his emails. My order arrived promptly, packaged well, and in very healthy condition. Overall, Brushwood offers me the most "bang for my buck" with clematis purchases and I will happily be a repeat customer in the future. A++++ vendor! =) |

On September 16th, 2008, mrs_colla changed the rating from positive to neutral and added the following:
After some time, the clematis both died. I waited a while to see if they would come back, as I planted them deep enough to recover from wilting if it would occur, but alas, the plants died.
I contacted Dan by email, and he asked me more information on how and where the plants were planted.
I sent him the info but haven't heard back from him.
I could have emailed him immediately, but since clematis dares to wilt and bounce back, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. My loss.
I have bought clematis from another nursery with more flexibilty and will stick to him from now on.
I won't order again. |

The honeysuckle arrived safe and sound, and what sturdy little plants they are! I am truly impressed. The packaging of the plants was more than adequate. They arrived in a speedy fashion with only a couple of the top leaves bruised.

The plants were obviously carefully and expertly packed, came in right on time and arrived in perfect condition. I have seen similar clematis and other vines for much more money, so I was so pleased to see that the vines were a good size and the roots weren't all smushed up in containers. Instead the roots were healthy, with plenty of breathing room and growing strong. It really has been a pleasure doing business with Brushwood, I will continue to order from them, and hope they continue to sell their terrific plants for a long, long time. |

May 09, 2008 | I first ordered 6 Clematis from this company last fall. They not only came in great shape, but they survived the very-variable-temperatures winter and are all growing fast now. Which made me order another 8 Clematis and 4 other vines this spring. They just arrived and, again, they look very, very, happy. In addition to selling very healthy plants, the packaging is excellent for both the plants and the environment, and the shipping price is unbelievable. I strongly recommend Brushwood Nursery.

Heck, the quality is generally better than local nurseries. The packaging of the plants is done with great care and effort. My only "complaint" is that I wish they offered more varieties of plants so that I could avoid using other mail-order companies more. Still I wouldn't want them to broaden their selection if it came at the cost of reduced quality. |
