|I was thinking of ordering from Laurie but the negative complaints made me look at her website again in order to check for the last time she updated it. It was 2009. I guess it is important for we consumers to always check the year of last update.

|I sent in my order and money order on May 7, 2010. Nothing received as of Sept. 27, 2010. Sent her a reminder and copies of order by mail on Sept. 28, 2010. No response. Fine, she doesn't want my business but at least have the honesty to send back my money so I can order my iris from someone who DOES want my business.

|Similar to some other posts here, I sent in an order and check to this company in June of this year. I have repeatedly emailed and called with no response. My check has not been cashed, but I want it back!! It is now almost September so I obviously will not be getting any irises since this company says their cutoff date for digging is August 11. This is very disappointing.

|I ordered from her in 2008. She gave truly amazing customer service. I mostly wanted MDB & SDB irises and she was honest enough to let me know that she had heard that they may not perform well in my zone. I tried them anyway & I am thrillled. Some are doing better than others. I am eager to order more from her, but I have been unable to reach her. I fear that whatever happened to her in 2009 must have been really terrible. I hope she is okay & that her website will soon be updated for 2010.

|I had the same experience as Nance (see below) last year. I tried to get in touch many times to order, but didn't hear back the first several tries. Finally she answered and apologised, saying she was having a bad year. So this year (a month ago - 5/27) I ordered by email as instructed on her website and sent a payment by paypal at the same time. I received no confirmation of my order, so a week later I emailed, asking for confirmation and whether she knew yet if the dwarfs I ordered would be available. Again no response, so I sent another email several days later. Again no response, so I called and left a message on her phone. Again no response so I sent her a dmail on 6/22. She has posted on DG since then, but has still not responded to any of my emails or call.
I wonder why she bothers to have her iris for sale at all, since she obviously doesn't care about having customers. At this point I don't really care if she sends my iris, as long as she returns my payment. I definitely won't try ordering from her again. I have limited space, so it's important for me to have some idea if what I ordered is available, because, if not, I'd like to know, so I can order elsewhere before what I want is sold out.

|I am sorry to be the first one to post negative experience with Shadowood. I tried to order 2008 without any response and finally after repeatedly calling her I spoke with her on the phone last year and she seems very nice and all was well at that time. She was going to get back to me as to availability for my order. That was the last I heard. I chalked it up to life and then tried to order again this year. I e-mailed her in February, no response. I e-mailed again through this website, no response. I e-mailed again in April to both her e-mail addresses without reply. I don't know what to do, especially since all of the other responses seem to have had a very good transaction with her. I don't know how I am missing a connection with her. PLEASE HELP!

|This is my first year ordering from Laurie, and it was a very positive experience. Like someone else said, the weather took it's toll on her iris, but she sent very healthy iris of the ones she could, and promptly refunded me for the ones she couldn't. She also sent lots of bonus iris. I'm very pleased, and wish her better luck next year with her iris. Mother Nature gets all of us once in awhile, in one way or another.

|What a great seller! Apparently the weather this year dealt a horrible blow to her gardens, but Laurie kept me informed at every step of the way, suggested substitutes for the irises that turned out to be unavailable, and cheerfully refunded my money for the ones couldn't be substituted for. The box arrived exactly when promised - full of healthy rhizomes and lots of bonuses, in spite of her bad year.
I can hardly wait to see these beauties next year! I highly recommend the Irises of Shadowood.

|I am a little concerned. I placed an order and sent an email to the company about two weeks ago, including paying for the order with paypal, but got no acknowlegment email or any response whatsoever. I have sent another email to both her apparent email addresses, email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org, today in hopes that I will get some response so I know my order has been received and will be shipped out.
On June 14th, 2007, karenane changed the rating from neutral to positive and added the following:
Laurie did get back to me and explain that she had been swamped. She sounds very nice, so I am retracting my neutral rating and changing it to positive.

|Ordered some median irises from Shadowood last year.
Shadowood is owned by Daves Garden's subscriber Laurief from the iris forum. I have read her very informative posts for years. Laurie is one of the most informative and helpful people on the iris forum.
Iris arrived healthy, timely, and were of good size. Decent prices. I have no doubt they will be true to name. Nice bonuses included. It was a nice plus corresponding back and forth with Laurie.

|I greatly enjoyed my ordering experience with Laurie. I collect antique iris and loved the pics and info she set up. The MTBs SDBs TBs and Sibs are all doing fine. She was wonderfully generous in her bonuses and the prices quite reasonable. All were sent on time and I can not wait to see them bloom. Will be ording again for sure.
