|Plumeria Gallery's Owner Marlene moved a months ago to the Metro Chicago area and her website and accounts associated with her business are now closed.
The only thing you can do at this point if you never received your order or refund is to file a complaint with the state of Florida or small claims court as there are large group of people who were shorted.. On one of the earlier posts there is a link to the proper dept to contact.

I have been waiting for a small order from Plumeria Gallery since NOVEMBER 1. I have contacted Marlene three times and have been told twice that my order had been shipped the last time on DECEMBER 19. It is now the end of the first week in January and still no product.
I am grateful that I did not order more from this place.
I would not recommend this business to anyone unless you want to throw your money away. This business needs to be criminally investigated. Giving Internet commerce a BAD NAME!

|Placed an order for a Yellow Elder, paid for priority mail shipping; after two weeks with no plant or an email giving me a shipping date, I emailed them requesting a shipping date, no reply, after a couple of days I emailed them again (different email address) thinking maybe the earlier one did not go through, no reply. After another couple of days emailed agin (another different email address) to cancel the order and credit my Pay Pal account. I opened a dispute with Pay Pal, within a half-hour of receiving an email from Pay Pay saying that they had opened the dispute, I finally got an email from Plumeria Gallery, saying they had a computer crash and had not been able to access email. No mention of a shipping date or refund. Within a week I did get a refund from Pay Pal. Would reccomend Almost Eden, that is where I finally got my Yellow Elder.

|I placed 5 orders with Marlene from July to Sept of 2010 for a total of 204.34 and have not received the plants or the refund she promised back in December. I have ordered plumerias from her in 2009 and did receive them even though the orders took awhile to arrive, but at least I did receive them. This time I have received nothing but excuses that her daughter was having a baby and she has been traveling back and forth to Chicago and that is why she is so far behind on orders. The nursery is listed as a state certified nursery with the agricultural dept and complaints can also be filed with them to remove her certification. I really thought she was a nice lady even though orders arrived slowly, but have since found that she makes promises she won't keep and makes way too many excuses to be in business. Buyers beware of Plumeria Gallery!!!!!!!

|Add me to the list of dissatisfied customers who paid Marlene for a product (9/19/09), never received it and was given the run around via email and over the phone. Eventually she stopped responding to my communications altogether. I contacted the BBB on 6/21/10 and have posted their reply:

|This place is horrible. I live in Miami and placed an order for 5 ylang ylang seeds. According to their website there were supposed to be 16 sets of these in stock. Paid with Paypal. After 1 week (mail from Naples gets here in 1 day), I called the owner and got her cell phone at lunch. She acknowledged she received the order, was behind and would ship it out. She was short in her response and clearly wanted to get rid of me. After another week - no seeds. Now the voicemail for the number of the website is full - I can't even leave a message to complain further. Now I'm starting to check BBB and web reviews. Shame on me for not checking. Buyer beware!

I've had the best experience with Plumeria Gallery. All of my questions were answered before and after the sale. My order came within a few days of her shipping it, with bonus seeds! She asked me to wait on shipping until it was warmer (above 35 for the low) but once I told her it was she sent it the next day. I would have no trouble at all ordering from them again. Perhaps her customer service has become much better since the last reviews.

I was WRONG! On my last order I ordered Adenium seeds and got some bonus ones as well as a large rooted Plumeria. The seeds I ordered never sprouted, only the bonus ones did and they aren't growing all that well either. From all the comments I've read I'm starting to doubt the Plumeria will bloom true to what I ordered. So, I thought, maybe the seeds weren't good so I decided to order more on the 15th of April because they were buy one get one and 20% off. I knew something was up when I didn't get an e-mail acknowledging my order like I have before. So I e-mailed her and she said that she was late on her taxes and behind on orders but she would catch up the following weekend. I ended up having to e-mail her twice more and still received no response or seeds. The last e-mail I sent was on May 4th in which I warned her if I did not receieve a response or a shipping number by Friday (May 7th) I would be disputing the payment with Paypal. Well, It's the 8th and I've done just that! I think it's sad that it should have to come to this. She thanked me for the good reviews here and said that most of the complaints found here were in the minority. I thought the fact that she knew I was giving her reviews would keep it from coming to this but I was wrong. She has an excuse for everything. If you are wary about purchasing from the Plumeria Gallery, DON'T, you may have a good experience but soon enough the lack of customer service will catch up with you.

|Awful awful awful experience. Every order I have placed w/her takes forever to get shipped! One time I waited nearly a year. I was very nice and very patient, but as the others said, she didn't return phone calls, emails, nothing. When I did finally BLOCK MY NUMBER to call her (so she didn't have the opportunity to avoid me) she gave me every excuse in the book. I could go on.. I definitely have more to disclose.. but I don't want to get upset again. Marlene IS a one man show and is doing a p!ss poor job of it. Do not send her your money, you won't see the product AND should you get product it probably won't bloom true. I've only had one that bloomed true.. the rest, who knows what they are? I certainly don't!! She's awful awful awful and has no business here.

This been going on for three months. In the process of contacting the Better Business Bureau and Paypal. I will never order plants from her again, and would highly recommend that anyone who is thinking about purchasing plants should reconsider it.

|In early Spring, I ordered 3 "Pride of Barbados" Plants for a total of $56 with postage. After several email inquiries, they were finally shipped about mid-April. All plants were dumped from their pots, dry and broken. I managed to save 2 broken stems and the free Plumeria cutting.
It took so long that I could not cancel PayPal. By then I was so annoyed that I gave up trying to deal with this company. Too many broken promises.

|I would not order again from The Plumeria Gallery, as, in my opinion, there are much better mail order companies available specializing in plumerias. My order was slow to be shipped, requiring follow-up inquiries on my part, and was not shipped when promised. The cutting I received was small and not well hardened-off. Also, in my opinion, The Plumeria Gallery's prices for plumeria cuttings are high in comparison with other mail-order sources. I did receive my order (unlike several other customers leaving feedback here) so am rating my experience with The Plumeria Gallery as "Neutral". My advice: order from another company - there are some great ones out there. I believe the owners of this company mean well, but just don't (or can't) follow through to provide good service.

|I ordered two Plumeria Plants from Marlene in April 2009 for my husband's birthday. Marlene said three weeks would be plenty of time for me to receive them. When they didn't arrive, I called Marlene and she tells me she had yet to send them. As they would not arrive before his birthday, I cancelled the order and asked for a full refund as the order and shipping had been paid for at the time of order. Today is June 19 and I am STILL waiting for a refund. Marlene insists she has sent the money yet fails to return calls or for that matter answer the phone. Her mail box is always full!
Never has Marlene called to offer restitution. I see from this website there are many unhappy customers. Why is she still in business if she continues to act fraudulently? Marlene's refusal to refund money paid for an order that was not received is THEFT! I have been polite and patient. Now I am angry! I will certainly not recommend this business to anyone. There are nurseries and proprietors with far more integrity and honesty. Marlene does not deserve your business. Shop elsewhere!

I am really surprised by the 'no response', because when I placed my orders, she would call me back immediately - now that I am due a refund, I am getting no response to my calls. 2 weeks ago, she said she had mailed my refund check - maybe it got lost in the mail - ya think - I've not received the check - something is not right here!

|Ordered bougainvilleas from Plumeria Gallery back in late September/early October via Visa/PayPal. When I had not received the plants before our temperatures here started cooling down, I contacted Marlene (and yes, I get the impression this is her company as she is the only one answering the phones) in late October, mid November and mid December, to ask for a refund because I feared that the plants would not survive over the winter since they are frost tender in my area (New River, Arizona). To date (1/2/09), I have not received the refund I requested so I have filed a complaint with Visa and with the Better Business Bureau in Clearwater, Florida. My money has been taken and I have nothing in return so I now consider this to be a fraudulent transaction and I will be following up with the appropriate authorities to seek reimbursement. ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

|I have to say that this company sounds like it is being run by 1 person. I ordered 1 cutting 2 weeks ago and paid for it 2 weeks ago. I called this Friday and was told it was shipped. My only problem is.... When you buy a product, the company should ship ASAP to make the customer happy or let them know a time when it will be shipped. Even if it takes weeks before it ships. Comunication goes a long way! I have a shipping tracking number now and should be getting the cutting this week. Cross fingers.

|I placed an order for Delonix regia with Marlene from Plumeria Gallery over a month ago. I was told my tree would be shipped on a specific date. After waiting several days I would call Marlene and tell her that my tree hadnít arrived. Iíd then be told that she wasnít able to ship as she promised but that she would certainly do so the following Monday. This pattern has now been repeated weekly for a month.
If you canít do something please donít promise that you will. If circumstances change please do me the common courtesy of returning my emails or perhaps even take the initiative to inform me that my shipment will not be sent when specified. Today I decided to cancel my order out of frustration since I have no idea when or if my order will be shipped.

|Through extensive searches for butterfly pea vines, I found that many sites listed them unavailable or on backorder. I called Marlene to check actual availability and get a realistic ship time. I left a message on Saturday, 6/14, and received a call back in less than half an hour. I received my vines in excellent condition on Wednesday, 6/18 (Florida to California.) WOW! Marlene took extra time to explain how and why to delay planting until evening for best results. After learning that I was looking for vines that might be blooming in a few weeks for a special party, she called back and offered more established vines. She took time to share other helpful information that she has learned by having her own vines over the years. I could not be more pleased with my experience and Marlene's excellent customer service!

This is the first internet negative difficulty I have experienced while being a good customer for many sellers. I of course can not know what administrative problems this company has but it is evident there is much room for improvement.

This certainly gets more and more confusing. As a buyer I did not need a PayPal account to pay you. I do not have a PayPal account. Yet you say you sent my money refund with PayPal. You have my shipping address and home address with the order and on one or more of my E mails to you which were not answered. There is no confusion concerning my address. It remains the same. I repeat........your firm is the only firm on line that I have ever had a mess like this to deal with.
.......Under payment details your copy when compaired with what you say ends up even more confusing. This is not a shipping receipt. It is a USPO electonic notice saying you sent an intent to ship not that you actually shipped. Double talk and confuson will not solve this problem. Since there is no reciept showing from the USPO I might deduct your firm never gave the order to the USPO. If this concerns the return of funds as it appears it is further confusing because you say you did return the money using PayPal. If this is the case it still is not a receipt it is as stated the USPO electronic statement saying you notified them that you intend to do something.
I will certainly find relief when the check somehow arrives to my attention. When it clears I will also note here that you finally did make justification with me. So far this has been a nightmare like none other.
.......All you really need do is write one check in the proper amount and apply one stamp on one envelope to the proper person. Three days is the average first class mail time from your firm to my postal address.

|My coleus from Plumeria arrived today and most of them were in pretty good shape. Two of them were broken, but the plants were quite large so that really wasn't a problem. If I were giving this rating exclusively on the plants I would say it was positive, however since both the service and communication were quite lacking I am giving it a neutral.
The owner was an excellent communicator until my order was actually placed, then it was like pulling teeth to get a response to an email. I gave her my order in February but
ask for a May 1 ship date and was told that would be no problem. (I might add that that my CC was charged immediately when the plants weren't to be shipped for another 3 months.)
I sent an email on April 21 stating that our weather here was stable and she could ship them as soon as it was convenient. I got no reply. I sent another email on the 29th to inquire on the statis and was told that the plants would be shipped that week. On May 8th I sent another email telling her that if she was too overwhelmed with orders I would go just cancel mine. I got no reply. On the 9th I telephoned the owner and was told the plants had been shipped that day.
I did get a bonus plant which was nice, but it didn't make up for the frustration and the run-around I felt I was getting.

|My experience was negative, but I feel a negative rating is a little extreme, since I did finally get plants.
I ordered and paid via PayPal Jan 29, 2008 and finally received my order Feb 22 after numerous unanswered emails inquiring about my order. It is stressful to wonder what happened to my money for a month, even if it is under $20.
I didn't know the order one get one free offer was only if you bought single plants.. (not stated in the ad) and was a very disappointed that it would not be honored.
I also expected a plant that looked like the picture posted, which had blue and purple and said "New for 2008" when in fact it was a variety that has been around a long time. I got a red and yellow plant that I never would have ordered if I knew better.. buyer beware.. I felt like an ignorant newbie that fell for a fake picture.
They were packed well, but in used pots that said Impatiens. There was a bonus coleus plant that was untagged and I don't know what it was.
After emailing with my concerns, I was told that her sister was visiting and she was unable to answer emails or ship products.
I would not order from this company again. I'm sorry.. but this is my experience with this company.

|I ordered a selection of coleus after reading a classified ad here on DG. Offer was 2 for 1 coleus. Ordered on March 16th. All plants were carefully packaged. Plants were well established with a great root system going. One of the plants had to be placed in a 8" pot, one in a 6" and the rest in 4". My entire order consisted of about 12 plants. They were a little "weary" from travel but were doing great the next morning. I would not hesitate to order from Plumeria Gallery again. I was (and still am) very satisfied with my order.

- I placed the order Feb 7, but didn't receive the plants until Mar 10, with no communication from the company at all.
- They were NOT packed well. Wrapped in plastic bags and stuffed top first into a flat box against crumpled newspaper, so 3 of the 4 had broken leaves & stems.
- 1 plant wasn't labeled, & there was an extra plant I didn't order. I had sent an email with my choices but had never gotten a response, so I wasn't sure what was going on.
- I immediately potted them, but I believe the Yulee is dead & gone. I had hoped it would come back, but after 10+ days, I don't think it's going to. The others are doing ok.
I wrote her earlier this week. She responded right away & apologized for the packing, but she asked me to make every effort to keep these alive. She said if she had to replace Yulee it might be with another plant because they were having problems with keeping Yulee alive, or it was slow growing, or something.
I wrote her immediately back telling her I didn't think the Yulee was going to make it... and she's never responded.
I buy 99% of my plants online. I'm not happy with Plumeria Gallery & will not buy from them again.

Update Apr 5 - After writing back & forth to Marlene a few times, I received 2 replacement coleus plants & 3rd gift coleus plant yesterday.
All 3 plants came thru with shining colors - healthy & well-packed.

|It is always a pleasure to get a box from Marlene. I just got my second order a few weeks ago and will continue to be a loyal customer. The plants I have recieved to date have been very healthy and transitioned well up here in NY.

|A positve experience all around! Received plumeria and other tropical plants in great shape and within days of placing order. Very reasonable with shipping charges. The Plumeria Gallery owner took time with me to describe each plant to be sent in detail and was very helpful with special requests. She even included fun, free extras! Will order from again!

|Ordered plants for $130 3 weeks ago. After 2 weeks, not a word, no plants. I emailed them, and they emailed back saying the plants would ship the following Monday.
Another week went by without plants, and after several emails; no response anymore. I have cancelled my order, as this was a gift for someone else, and by now it is too late. I have not received confirmation my order is cancelled, and it appears the money got taken via Paypal anyhow.
Since they are not communicating with me anymore I have to leave a very negative feedback.
I have ordered with many online nurseries, and never had an experience this BAD! Nobody ever took my money BEFORE sending plants. Very dishonest business if you ask me.
Buy your plants with someone who communicates and sends plants!

After this email today the lady of the house emailed me and appologised. I understand there were things occupying her beyond her power. But I would have liked to know this a few weeks ago so I had a choice. Now it is too late.
She promised me a refund promptly also. I stay behind my opinion that companies should not charge before shipment of plants.
Things are cleared, no hard feelings on my side anymore.
I change my rating from negative to neutral.

|Cuttings and other items packaged very well. All cuttings included individual name tags. Very professional.
