The potted BEAUTIFUL Elizabeth blueberry bushes arrived in great condition and are now in my garden with over 100 blooms/berries per bush!
For years I searched for a blueberry variety that my parents would like, but usually they'd try a few berries then remind me how they hadn't grown up with blueberries so never acquired the taste. Then last year I left a bowl of Elizabeth's in their kitchen (thinking it was a terrible waste of the remainder of the best blueberries I'd ever eaten). The next morning my mother said, "Did anyone tell you about your blueberries?" I thought I was about to hear how they got knocked off the counter and thrown out, but she said no, that my father had come into the living room and said, "HAVE YOU TRIED THOSE BLUEBERRIES! YOU HAVE TO GO TRY THEM!" She said, "I couldn't leave them alone! I was trying to save them for Tom, but every time I walked by, I had to have more! He hardly got any. They were so good!"
It may have been the weather when they ripened - drier than usual and had hit the 90s (too much water makes fruit bland), or maybe it was the cross-pollination with the Legacy - but this year I bought two potted Elizabeth's from Backyard Berry Plants!
Elizabeths should produce about 12 qts per year (or was it 15?) for decades! Plus these are ORGANICALLY GROWN!
