The goal of Pedricks Corner is to re-introduce gardeners to the beauty and stunning variety of upright fuchsias in their landscapes. They are much hardier than most people realize and can live for decades. Upright fuchsias in the ground or large containers thrive in full sun if properly maintained. They can even survive freezing to ground level if planted deep and the base of the plant is protected. In areas where they do not freeze, some hybrids can grow up to ten feet tall. We also would like to see them used as formed hedges here again and as they are in Europe. The varieties which can go either way, upright or hanging, can be trained up trellises or allowed to cascade over edges. Some of the smaller types have even been used for bonsai.

Always a pleasant experience and healthy plants. The Brazilian Plumeflowers are amazing! Thanks! On May 3rd, 2012, reeve1 added the following:
Pedrick's just continues to be a great place to purchase plants. I like that he doesn't have a lot of fancy packing contraptions and materials but just packs it well and ships fast. This means little overhead, which he passes on to his customers with his prices and generous bonuses. I ordered 3 different plants and got bonuses in all 3. And these are very nice sized, 10"-14" plants. I've got nothing but good to say, and if you look at my feedback on here, that's saying alot. Thanks Pedrick! I love you, man!
The USPS goofed and sent 14 fuchsias from Pedricks Corner on a tour of the eastern seaboard. Even though they were tossed about for nearly 3 weeks, left in cold and darkness, they still were sending up shoots and new roots. They showed their appreciation for being unpacked and under lights by leaping into growth. I've had poor luck with fuchsias up until now. These are definitely hardy, upright fuchsias and the seller was wonderful to deal with. I will definitely be a return customer!

The Cineraria plants that I ordered from Pedrick's Corner arrived dead. I have asked for a refund to no avail. Shirley EdwardsCompany representative comment on August 5, 2011: On Aug 5, 2011 6:19 PM, Pedricks Corner responded with:
The refund has been sent, as offers for replacemnt plants or seed was not responded to. Fortunately, no one else has had their cineraria's arrive dead after only 2 days.

This was an absolutely positive experience. The nursery offers an extensive variety of Fuchsias at very low prices. I ordered 10 and was pleasantly surprised when they arrived so quickly, along with some free samples. The plants are larger than I had expected and they are extremely healthy.

I just received my first order from Pedrick's Corner. Every single one out of 16 upright Fuchsias I ordered (hopefully hardy to zone 7b), as well as the 3 freebies (thank you!), looked really healthy. Yes, some were smaller than others, but the important issue is that they all had well developed roots. She went out of her way to accommodate my shipping needs, by checking the weather in my zipcode and deciding the best time for shipping. I will post more when the plants develop; so far so good - they definitely started out healthy. I will definitely order more Fuchsias from Pedrick's Corner once I figure out their hardiness.

I ordered four fuschia starts and got five! All were healthy and are now potted up. Very good communication from the seller and quick shipping.
First-time buyer with this site, and I was very happy. Purchased two fuchsia's and they arrived still looking healthy. They even threw in a little lavender packet and a couple Cineraria starts which was unexpected and appreciated. I have a feeling I'm at the beginning of a long and fruitful fuchsia obsession and I will certainly order from them again in the future. We should all be doing our best to support the passionate independents.
This is my first experience with this seller, and it could not be better. The plants are better than expected, great size, and one extra. Thank you! Also was included a very fragrant sachet that I am still enjoying. This nice details are the difference between a great seller, future friend, and the rest of regular sellers. All other details like price, communication, fast shipping, great packing, etc are very competitive, if not the best.

I ordered 16 mid-sized lavender wands from Pedrick's Corner to use as Christmas gifts. They were shipped promptly and arrived in perfect condition. They were wrapped so as to ensure their fragrance was retained. I sent them to destinations from California to NY. Personally, I feel that they have a lovely aroma. In fact, the recipients commented on what an unusual and wonderful-smelling gift they were, so, in a way, this positive feedback is from several people :-)
I just received my order of 21 seedlings. They appear healthy and nearly every one has nice roots, just a couple need a lil extra TLC to take hold in their new 3" containers. They gave me a nice bonus plant and sweet lavender sachet to boot! I recommend and will purchase from them again. Good communication - order confirmation, shipping confirmation, etc; prompt, timely shipment. And hard-to-beat prices. Yea!!
I ordered ten fuchsias and was impressed by the size of them. She upgraded 6 of them to a larger size at no cost. Although this is November, 2 had blossoms. Also enclosed was a sachet of lavender, which really raised my spirits on this blustery, rainy Washington day. A grand end to a crappy workday. Oh, and I got extra plants too, two I had just seen in the Point Defiance hardy fuchsia garden! Thank you so much. I will definitely order from Pedrick's Corner again.
I LOVE Pedricks. I ordered last Friday, and they shipped Monday (which is standard practice, and their website says as much - I think if I ordered Thursday, it would have gone out Friday), anyway. Received everything in superb condition on Wednesday, and planted right away. They are thriving. I thought about pinching the blooms to give the roots more ability to settle in, but the plants are doing so well, that I left the blooms, and they are coming in. I also appreciated the free gifts, and have decided that Pedricks corner is THE place for any future fuschias. My spouse bought one from the nursery last May, and we liked it, but it died because 1. I didn't know what it actually was (lost the plant id tag) and 2. I didn't know how to care for it. Anyhow, I'm just saying, Pedricks was great, and I can't wait to place another order!
The plants arrived very quickly in absolutely perfect condition. They are beautiful, healthy starts and seller included a little gift as well! Communication with seller was clear and prompt. Will definitely buy from Pedricks Corner again. It was a very pleasant experience.

I can't say enough about my experience with PC. I have been going through fuschia withdrawl since moving to Ohio. I hated to buy hanging fuschias and watch them die every year. When I saw the PC site, I decided to jump in and ordered four plants. ( I received 5-a nice surprise!) Ordering was easy, shipping very reasonable, and the well-rooted little plants came with blossoms!
Unfortunately they also came on the day Ohio set a record for heat 98 and humidity 90%. I think they were in the mailbox about an hour. The box was hot to the touch and I had resigned myself to plant death-even though they came in 2 days! Not so!! Three of the fuschias were just a bit wilted-knew they could be revived. The other two looked pretty critical. I moved them into little pots, soaked them and wrote to PC for advice. She answered rapidly, and now, I have five little happy plants.
In addition PC took the time to answer my questions about over-wintering in my zone, and also directed me to a fuschia growers web-site with more info!
I could not be happier. Wonderful little plants, an incredible value, and personal service. Who could ask for more!! Five stars in my book!!!On October 23rd, 2009, clpgirl added the following:
Once again I ordered from Pedrick's and was triple A+++ impressed. Fast and extremely well packed in shipping. The plants are beautiful, healthy and many with blooms!! The range of cultivars she has is amazing, and allows me to experiment with fuschias (a favorite) here in Ohio. Communication once again was detailed and timely. After soaking my plants, I've potted them, and now, on the third day, they continue to look beautiful.
PC cares about her plants and her people. The extras are a very, very nice surprise.
This time, I also purchased a lavender wand and will be back for more. (Christmas!)The scent is unreal, and the handwork on the wand just beautifully done.
Thanks again for sharing your lovely fuschias!
On May 10th, 2010, clpgirl added the following:
Another wonderful transaction with PC. Catherine is SO fast at shipping, packs wonderfully, and I had to talk her out of replacing the fuchsias I killed over the winter!! My new babies are more like teenagers, and I am thrilled. She is generous with advice, cares about her plants and her customers, and if I had more space and a higher zone I would probably have a dedicated fuchsia garden just with her plants.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for you assistance in my addiction LOL!
You can't go wrong purchasing these fuchsias or buying from PC!

Took only a week and a half from purchase start to finish. I am very happy with the speediness of this company. Also, I am very pleased, excited in fact, with the size and health of the plants. Most had blooms when I got them.Company representative comment on April 29, 2010: On Apr 29, 2010 2:14 PM, Pedricks Corner responded with:

I learned about Pedricks Corner from a thread here at DG.
I have killed many Fuchsias over the years, but when I saw these and learned that they are a hardy, upright, sun loving Fuchsia, I decided to give them another try.
I was amazed at how quickly they arrived. They were shipped by Priority mail and I had them within 3 days of placing my order. Not months later like some other mail order companies do.
All the Fuchsias arrived healthy. They were shipped bare root. Most, while small, had a least one bloom on them. All had good root structures formed.
Pedericks Corner's customer service has been great, too. They took the time to answer my questions, give advice, and to explain a few things I was was curious about.
The price can't be beat, and right now Pedericks Corner is not charging for shipping and handling. Then there was that Free Gift!
Thanks! I wasn't expecting that! : )
I'm sure I will be a repeat customer as they offer so many different kinds of Fuchsias and are adding more varieties as well.
This has been the best experience I have EVER had with a mail order nursery.
On June 13th, 2009, SingingWolf added the following:
Please let me clarify something. I received the free Shipping and Handling due to the quantity of Fuchsia's I ordered from Pedericks Corner. A S&H fee might be applicable for smaller orders. Thanks for giving me the chance to clear that up. (See what happens when you leave out a couple of words!) My apologies for any confusion. On October 18th, 2009, SingingWolf added the following:
As I mentioned in my previous post, I am very good at killing fuchsias.
However, I only order the small ones. During the summer I had to be away from home, and all but 2 died, from my first order. I'm not complaining. I didn't expect for all of them to survive, (I hoped though). The gardnener wasn't home. My bad.
My most recent order was sent out to me, recently. All of the fuchsia's were in good shape when they arrived, despite my DH not telling me they had arrived for 2 days. All were well rooted, and were planted the same day I found out they'd come. A couple of them were wilted when they came out of the box, due to shock.
I ordered young stock, with the exception of a couple of larger plants (which were on sale because the grower wanted to move the larger ones OUT). All have been planted in one gallon pots.
In addition to the ones I ordered, the seller also sent me several freebies. Which the seller did not need to do. But was none-the-less appreciated. : - )On April 17th, 2010, SingingWolf added the following:
I'm a third time buyer from this seller.
I have not been disappointed yet. My new babies arrived on the 16th and were planted this morning on the 17th. All survived without breakage, and again were in good shape upon arrival.
All of my plants from my previous order but one have survived and thrived. Very pleased! : - )
Very happy with the many new fuchsia varieties in stock the grower has. : - )
A very nice seller, and a very satisfactory transaction. AAA++++
"Awesome" doesn't describe well enough the excellent order I got today. Healthy happy plugs, though several varieties were actually well rooted and bushy in the next size up (root bound in styrofoam cups)--at no extra charge. Plus four freebies thrown in so that my box was packed full, a delightful surprise. And shipping was free since I ordered slightly above the minimum number of plugs to qualify--and I got the box within a few days of ordering. I do a fair amount of mailorder--trust me it doesn't get better than this! Thanks!
Great fuchsias! Well rooted, safely packed, and great prices. There were even a few free plants in the box - a nice surprise!
Very fast shipping - free with a purchase of 10 plants I think. Looking forward to the flowers! Thanks!

This is a great resource for Fushias. The plants arrived in great shape and well rooted. Fast email answers and shipping. A great person to deal with. I don't know how he can do it but he gives away as much as he sells.
Before I ordered I had a few questions which were fully answered for me so I placed my order for fuchsias. They arrived beautifully rooted and healthy, carefully packaged as well with clear labels on each. You can not beat these prices anywhere I know of, and such a great selection. Lots of bonus plants came along as well so I better get busy planting!
Thank you for putting so much care into your product and keeping your prices low. I'll be back!

By the way, I planted both plants and they are already looking great! Really healthy fuschia's!

I ordered several plants, all but one were fushias, and like many of you, have had limited success in the past with these plants. However, when reading the descriptions I noticed the directions were similar to clematis, sun for foliage and cooler for the roots, so decided to try again - plus the prices were too good to pass up. I received my plants much faster than I had expected, or hoped. All of the plants were in excellent shape, in large part due to the care used in packaging them. All were still nice and damp, again, due to the extra care given to each when they were placed in the shipping box. I couldn't get over how large some of the plants were, because they were only supposed to be the smaller starter size. But, even the smaller ones had very well developed root systems, which I was happy to see. I planted them that evening and am happy to report that they are all thriving, not the usual transplant shock and wilt. Again, I must stress that I feel this was due to the care they were given when packaged, not taking anything away from the quality of the plants, but I have received some nice plants before that were so shocked and dried out that it took them forever to grow, if they didn't die. So, I would just like to thank Pedrick's Corner for their service and wonderful plants and would recommend them to all my fellow gardening enthusiasts out there! eepinla

I had a very pleasant experience with this vendor, my plants arrived quickly, and although two were damaged, this was due to USPS, and not the vendor. The most seriously damaged plant (broken off at the base) was actually a free start the vendor generously included.I potted it anyway in the hope it will throw out new growth from it's roots, and put the broken off fuchsia stem in a glass of water, in the hope that it will root. The other fuchsia that was damaged had a break at the top,and I'm confident that it will survive the loss of it's top 2 sets of leaves, and do well. The vendor works with her customers, communicates with them over any issues that arise. I could not be more satisfied, and if I had room for another of her beautiful plants,I would definitely order from her again.

Very small plants can be sent, not well suited for shipping. Strong possibility there will be loss of plants. Seller should increase size(better roots, stronger stems) to ensure survourability. Seller will stop just short of calling you a negligent liar, cheat and thief if your not satisfied.Seller will also follow you on DG in attempt to discredit you and relinquish their responsibility.Use caution when buying from this seller. Not worth risk.Much better sellers out there with well developed plants.
Feedback on Watch Dog is deceptive. All is well, only if there no issues. Seller hostile otherwise. More to satisfying customers than fast shipping, viable plants is a must!Company representative comment on October 19, 2009: On Oct 14, 2009 6:12 PM, Pedricks Corner responded with:
Positive feedback was left upon delivery of the plants, which can be found under the member name PedricksCorner. We quote, "VVVVery Nice-Great Plants-A+++ seller-Plants arrived very quickly-Nicely packaged-I will buy again and again." Pedricks Corner's primary item is fuchsia "starts." This customer was sent plants more than 4 time the size of a normal fuchsia start at a break in price and free shipping. An offer to replace all normal sized starts was refused. Some plants listed as perishing, were not amoung those in our inventory. Customer knew we read the forums. No comments were posted there regarding any customer. The offer to replace the standard starts remains open. Three labels of one variety, were accidently placed on three which were on the itemized invoice sent with the shipment. The three correct plants were sent. I accidently included the wrong labels. The offer to replace the standard starts remains open.

I ask a lot of questions before placing my order and every one was answered promptly and every question was answered by a professional gardener and nursery owner. The only problem I had was controlling myself and not ordering one of every plant they had!!! :) I would recommend this nursery to anyone looking to add upright fuchsia's to their garden.
