St. Clare Heirloom Seeds specializes in Heirloom and Open-pollinated (Non-hybrid) vegetable seeds. We sell only untreated and non-GMO seeds, with a nice selection of varieties to supply all your garden needs.
Also available for purchase is a large selection of books to help you in growing your own pure and delicious fresh food. Titles we carry cover a number of subjects including, gardening, seed saving, organic gardening, plant propagation, preserving food, cooking the harvest, country living and traditional skills, ensuring you the information you need to grow and save heirloom and open-pollinated seeds, and helping you to begin the path to self-sufficiency. We also carry excellent seed saving envelopes. You can view them by clicking on the link on the "Seeds" page, just above the titles of all our vegetable varities. We have been very pleased with these envelopes ourselves, and believe our customers will like them too. Our desire is to help make your gardening experience enjoyable and as easy as possible. Thank you for your interest in our company. We wish you all a happy garden season!

| Positive | Mirhaven Nashville, MI (1 review) May 25, 2010 | We just received a very large selection of St. Clare Heirloom Seeds. The shipping was incredibly fast and everything was packed with the utmost care. We really liked that they have a label asking mail carriers to keep the packaging dry...there's nothing worse than having all your precious seeds subjected to moisture in transit! We planted Black Beauty, Early Prolific Straightneck Summer Squash and Spacemaster 80 Bush Cucumbers today....every single seed looked as fresh as if they were just harvested...quite amazing when you condsider how reasonably priced their seeds are! We've had more expensive seeds from other companies arrive all dried and shriveled up to nothing. We highly recommend this young company and hope to have many transactions with them again in the future! Our only regret is that we didn't notice they offer worm castings before we requested our seeds! |
| Positive | okcass Hobart, OK (1 review) April 29, 2010 | 100% germination so far! Very nice company to deal with. We are just getting back into vegetable gardening and rediscovering the thrill of plants popping out of the ground. Since we are doing small raised beds, I planted the peas, beans, and spinach seeds one at a time in the rows. Not a bare spot in the row! We look forward to the harvest! |
| Positive | lila_denmark Tjele Denmark (1 review) March 22, 2010 | I came into contact with this young company through Seed Savers Exchange. Their service is fast and personal and their work, ideals and attention to quality deserve our support! |
| Positive | acohen10463 Tuckahoe, NY (3 reviews) February 28, 2010 | I found this site through Dave's Garden. I was looking for non-GMO, Heirloom seeds. I ordered lettuce, peas, tomato and carrot seeds. The order arrived very quickly. I am a vegetable growing newcomer, and I look forward to seeing how the seeds develop, both indoors and from direct planting. |
| Positive | teddicrown Missouri City, TX (1 review) February 25, 2010 | I am so fortunate to have stumbled on this website looking for non GMO seeds. I have already started to sprout them indoors for use in my summer garden. The small plants look great and healthy and I am looking forward having a good harvest. I will and have recommended this website to several of my friends. Thank you for sending my order so quickly. I have also mailed a couple seed packages to my sister in Holland who has a small farm and was looking for non GMO seeds. |
| Positive | earth2tone Chilhowee, MO (1 review) February 24, 2010 | St Clare Heirloom Seed had exactly what I was looking for and more. Black Aztec and Blue Hopi seeds are not easy to find even on heirloom/open-pollinated sites. St. Clare had both and reasonably priced, despite the rarity of these varieties.
The shipping price is also great- currently only $3 no matter what you order.
The shipping was incredibly fast. I ordered from two other seed companies the day I placed the order at St Clare's. I'm still waiting on the other companies.
The website also has quotes on every page, making shopping for seeds even more enjoyable.
The shopping cart also, properly takes you back to the page you were on by pressing "Continue Shopping". Two other companies' carts take you back to the home page, leading to much frustration when placing a large order.
Overall, St Clare's has been the best experience in seed shopping. I cannot wait to order a few of their interesting books, especially the one entitled, "Homegrown Whole Grains". |
| Positive | AddyB Tallahassee, FL (1 review) February 24, 2010 | My St Clare Heirloom seed order arrived very quickly. The seeds sprouted easily and are now thriving past primary leaf stage. I look forward to doing business with St. Clare again and recommend them without reservation. Thank You ! |
