This is the only company I will purchase bulbs from. I have purchased bulbs from them for many years and every year I have been pleased with the results.
Last fall due to a number of issues I was unable to take proper care of my "See View Plait" bulbs prior to planting and when I was finally able to get to them a great number of them had turned moldy. I picked the best ones, planted them and hoped for the best. A friend of mine saw the ones that I thought were beyond hope and he asked if he could have them and I said sure.
The next spring we both had BEAUTIFUL tulips! Now I would never recommend not taking care of your bulbs properly upon receipt, but I couldn't believe what beautiful tulips those moldy bulbs produced. I had tons of compliments from my neighbors and from the people I was able to give bouquets to.
Also, a few years ago I planted some daffodils from White Flower Farm--the "Camelot" bulbs never came up and out of the 50 "Stainless" variety only three have ever flowered. This year I planted 300 daffodils and 200 crocuses from Colorblends, as well as 300 tulips and I know that this spring will be beautiful. The daffodil bulbs especially were enormous, many with three "bulbets" I guess you would say. I cannot say enough about this company. Thank you Colorblends! You've got a customer for life.
The size of their bulbs and speed of shipping is incomparable. I've been ordering from Scheepers for years but they were out of the muscari I needed, so I tried Colorblends. The bulbs appeared to me to be bigger than anything I'd purchased from SCheepers, Bluestone or in a bricks and mortar store. They are. I looked at the small print and Scheepers bulbs are 14-16 cm; Colorblends are 16cm +. Colorblends run 3 to 5 dollars more per 1,000. The shipping is the same, but Colorblends arrives in one.....yes one.....day.
I love Scheepers; they are reliable and have a tremendous variety you can't find elsewhere. But for the same named bulbs, I would order from Colorblends in a blink and get the exotics from Scheepers.
Ordered from Colorblends a month or two ago and got the bulbs in late October. Credit card was not charged until shipment was made, which is the way business should be done, but as we all know, not always the case with other merchants. I had ordered 200 daffodils, 100 snowdrops and some alliums. The bulbs were all big and in great condition (no soft spots etc.). It took me a while to plant all of these bulbs but next spring will be glorious. The crate they ship the bulbs in is a great added bonus to be used year after year for drying and storing other bulbs.

The bigged triple nose daffodils I have ever seen were sent by them. I was overjoyed to see such huge, flawless bulbs, never expecting to receive triple nosed. In the past, ordering from other companies, there were always a few "questionable" bulbs, .....NOT here!!! And the price was reasonable. They ship beautiful merchandise and I look no further. Bravo!!!

Research on Dave's Garden led me to Colorblends as source to order spring bulbs by mail for the first time. The reviews were positive and they were listed as a member of the Mailorder Gardening Association that specializes in Daffodils. I would like to comment on the exceptional quality of their website. Pictures of the flowers in mass plantings and close-up studies of each variety were available. I enjoyed viewing Colorblends choice of collections sold by color and bloom time. I was in search of selecting bulbs that were to be in bloom early, mid and late season. I was pleasantly surprised to see that a collection of daffodils were selected to grow based on bloom time. I liked seeing pictures of the daffodils that I selected on my purchase order. I also liked that they listed the price I spent per bulb in a bulk order. It made it easy to compare prices against other vendors. I have to say that their prices were reasonable. The only improvement to the website that I can suggest is a collection of bulbs organized by height.
My shopping experience was a pleasure. I am anticipating daffodils that will bring about a smile or two this spring.

My order arrived today in perfect condition. The bulbs were packaged in a crate that the delivery driver easily carried to my door. The daffodils were labeled so that the tag could be removed and stapled directly into my garden journal. That was a nice touch. Each bulb was healthy and seemed ready to grow. The planting instructions were simple enough to follow. I hope to see a palette of yellow this spring.

I ordered a couple hundred tulips and 75 alliums from Colorblends. The tulip bulbs are a large size and shipping & service were without problems. I really liked the packing trays as they can be reused.I am waiting on the alliums as they are to be shipped this week, but I dont anticipate any problems. I will definitely order from them again.

Colorblends is a great source for a wide variety of bulbs. I've ordered from them every fall for the past three years. There has never been a disappointment. Every variety grew and came true to name. The bulbs are all strong & healthy and perennialize very well. The prices are very good and anyone should feel confident ordering from them.
First of all the bulbs are very high quality. They are larger and free from disease overall. Second, the price is fantasic, you just won't get the same quality bulb anyplace else.
Lastly, you should also know they are thankful for your business unlike to many others out there.
They are open for direct communication and will help you if need be.
Only good things to say here even I haven't recieved the bulbs yet. They have wonderful customer service, all really nice and kind. The best price bulbs I can find. I ordered a bunch. Will update once I get the bulbs. Can't wait to get them in the ground and see them flowering!
I love the service and selection of this company! I ordered 100 each of the White On mix and the French Blend Rose tulips and they were absolutely beautiful. The bulbs were large and healthy and the flowers in the spring were very large and stunning. I loved bringing in large bouquets to work - everyone loved them and couldn't believe that I grew them and did not buy them. I will most definitely order from them again for all my bulb needs!! One word of advice - purchase early because they sell out of many of the excellent varieties - I dawdled too long last year and the sold out of the daffodils I wanted.

I would not purchase bulbs from any other vendor than Colorblends. Their prices are low for alliums, daffodils, and crown imperials (usually very pricey bulbs). You can't beat them in any of the garden centers here. They also have a great selection of "critter resistant" bulbs which I find a big plus. I live on a main "deer highway" it seems, and anything that I can find (besides daffodils) that they won't eat is great!
I have never had a problem with customer service when I have informed them of bulbs that did not grow the following year. Replaced with no problem whatsoever. Cleveland winters can be very cold or mild from year to year, and I don't fault the company for any bulbs that may not have made it.
The bulb quality is tops, the packing bags are handy, easily marked, and I have reused them many times.
You get what you pay for and with Colorblends, you get your money's worth.
I ordered a large amount of bulbs last fall from Colorblends. They have good quality bulbs and sell in large volumes....great for our large acreage. This spring I had the most beautiul tulips I have ever seen. Huge red and yellow flowers. I get lots of compliments on them. The Daffs I bought from them several years ago come back every year and are lovely.

Wonderful bulb vendor. My "Cool Out" tulip blend has lasted a second year and still stops traffic, and their daffodils are magnificent (I was one of the lucky ones to get Gay Kybo, and it's gorgeous). The bulbs were in excellent condition and an impressive size. I came to the catalogue a skeptic (okay, the mixture names are kind of cheesy), and now I can't wait to try more. I wish I had more places to put their mixtures!
I ordered the Tahiti Daffodils and Grape Muscaris from Colorblends Fall last year. I am greatly satisfied with this company. I was amazed at how big and healthy looking the bulbs were when it arrived at my front garage. Great customer service, Great bulbs.... Spectacular blooms! I noticed a lot of neighbors slowing down in front of my house to get a look at the Daffodils.
Will definitely order this year and get my hands on the Gay Kybo ... it got sold out on me last year. I will also try tulips this year, will go for the smaller varieties first, Red Hunter and Humilis Violacea.
If you're still reading this review, you are wasting precious time in selecting the bulbs you're going to order. There are a lot ... a lot! of beautiful choices! :)
We have a very large garden, and every year we order a variety of spring bulbs and typically plant about 1000 bulbs a year. Thus, we have ordered from all of the major/reputable bulb companies. We are repeat, very satisfied customers of Colorblends, and cannot rate them highly enough. Their prices are outstanding, as is the quality of their product. Their bulb color bends are just amazing. Our gardens are anticipated by the neighborhood, due in large part to this company. We do order from other companies as well, but our order to Colorblends serves as the "backbone" order.

Quality was among the highest I have experienced with bulb companies. Prices also are very good. I wish the company offered more individual varieties rather than collections, but I definitely plan to order again.
I was a bit nervous ordering from this company as it seemed like it might be a ripoff. When I called to add something and delete something they were very pleasant about it on the phone. The bulbs are large and healthy and arrived on time. (As big as Brent and Beckys' bulbs, a company that gets such great ratings here; I had a terrible experience with B&B as far as customer service goes, and they are also much more expensive.) Having compared their prices, they really do give a quantity discount on some varieties in comparison to other companies.
Just wanted to drop a quick note to say Gudoshnik was spectacular! The tulips lasted a full month from mid april to mid may and the colors were breathtaking! The crocus were also beautiful especially the striped orchid ones which lasted a month from mid march to mid april, so timing was perfect. The prices are the best around. I like to plant perennial tulip bulbs and last years tulips re-bloomed this spring. BRAVO!!
i have uses color blends for several years for my spring bulb source and every selection has been more spectacular than the last....the french rose blend tulips were picked by a neighbor{?} who told the people that she gave them to that they were hers....a friend begged me to give her a dozen of the big earthas to take to a high profile funeral, she wanted flowers that would stand out ...they were the only ones the family took home. my personal favorites are the aladins carpet...i live in a woodland setting on the banks of a river where they look simpley natural. the bulbs have all ways arrived well packed and in just dugg up freshness. as far as i can tell every single bulb has flowered in the spring {i have counted them} . i have chipmonks so i loose tulips to them over time, but the ones that are left are repeat bloomer even thougth they tulips are an every year thing. all of my flowers are subjected to at least one flood from the river a year and so far have showed no ill effects from this. over all i am perfectly pleased by color blends and will continue to use them . i do nothing more than digg a hole, put the pointy end up and cover with dirt...some times i remember to fertlize....some times not....they just seam to grow............
Thanks to Colorblends, my community looks forward to my plantings every year. People come from all around the to see them. They stop traffic. Colorblend's bulbs consistently out perform all others. The bulbs are a good size and the percentage of bulbs that come up and bloom are always high. BRAVO to Colorblends for a great product!!!

This was my first year with colorblends bulbs and i couldn't be happier...everything bloomed and has been just beautiful! Working on bulb order for this fall :-)
Colorblends has the most fabulous bulbs! I have ordered from them for several years and have never been disappointed. This year I added Carmen Rio tulip bulbs to my annual order. I planted them in my Brooklyn, NY front garden. People walking by are constantly stopping and commenting (and taking pictures!) on the beauty and size of these and my American Dream tulips. Whenever I have the chance I tell people what a great company this is and the wonderful quality of their bulbs and their service. I am already planning my Fall 2008 purchases!
I ordered bulbs from this company for the first time in the fall of 2007. I chose three colors of tulips to force and a bag of 100 paperwhites, because the prices were so low. I've never seen such huge healthy bulbs. I gave everyone I know paperwhites as holiday gifts, and finished forcing the last batch for Easter. These last bulbs were still totally viable, and in fact came into bloom in just two weeks! Wonderful bulbs! and a free coffee cup.

Last season I placed my first order with Colorblends. One daffodil I chose was Tete-a-Tete, a short early variety for a rock garden in front of my Vermont home. I was not prepared for the beautiful and proflic display I had this spring. Neighbors commented on the impressive flowers and asked where they could buy bulbs to use in their own flower beds. Thank you Colorblends, I look forward to doing business with you again.

Fantastic bulbs! Last fall I ordered from this company's gorgeous catalog for the first time, and I am pleased to add my praises to those cited here. I'd not ordered from them before, thinking their bulb blends were a little on the expensive side and preferring to use my own creativity in coordinating flowers & colors. Then, as I dithered over the selections offered by my usual bulb company (Van Engelen bulbs), I realized that it was getting late in the season and my dithering wasn't getting me anywhere except overwhelmed.
I ordered about 750 bulbs: an early-flowering mix of little bulbs (mostly species tulips, grape hyacinths, and other small early bulbs of early spring), a big mixed daffodils collection, some snowdrops, grape hyacinths, and scilla, and 2 different colorblended tulip mixes - The Rainbow Coalition (flaming orange, bright hot red, and a rich bright purple) & French Blend (a beautiful pastel mix of soft pinks & apricots). The bulbs arrived very promptly, and were packed better than any I've ever received, in mesh bags contained in a large, sturdy plastic crate.
Even though I couldn't get them all in the ground immediately, they held very nicely for me in my yard shed - no mushy, moldy, nasty bulbs, none to chuck over the fence for the squirrels to eat! The bulbs were so large and firm and clean that I knew they would give great flowers, and this spring I was thrilled to see that I was right.
These flowers are incredible! Huge, beautiful, well-mixed blooms, surpassing my expectations. I love tulips, all kinds & colors, but hadn't been able to grow them when we lived in town because the deer would beat me to them as soon as the tender shoots started to grow. Now that we live in the country, surprisingly the deer don't touch them - go figure! The flowers are almost too large to be true - more color per plant. Anyway, I just can't get over how gorgeous this year's display has been. The beauty and vigorous good health of the bulbs more than makes up for any slightly high cost, and best of all, the coordination of colors & bloom has been done for me - all I had to do was plant them, wait through the long winter, and enjoy their beauty.
Highly recommended! I plan to order from them again, now that I have 5 acres to fill. Let these pros do the fiddling around coordinating bloom dates, colors, & heights, while you just plant them & wait for the beauty.
This company sent us the best daffodil bulbs ever. Two years ago I placed a large order, and even though I got them in the ground a little on the late side, the blooms were spectacular.
If you compare the bulbs from this company with those from other vendors, , you will see a tremendous difference---bulbs are much larger, firmer, have none of those soft spots---just look very, very healthy!
Also, the bulbs are shipped in a plastic crate which is perfect for storage. I still use mine for other things.
My only regret is that I did not order any last fall----Time somehow got away from me, but I surely won't let this happen again.
I ordered several varieties of daffodil bulbs from this company last year. All of the bulbs I received were extremely large and healthy. The daffodils just finished blooming and I was very impressed. They were even better than I expected - very good quality. I also wanted to make a change in my order before they shipped, and their customer service took care of it with excellent communication and no problems at all. I highly recommend this company.

Ordered about 850 bulbs from them in 2005, 100 of which I gave to the garden at work. Absolutely fantastic in size and quality! Bloomed as promised per the catalog pictures. Many, many compliments. Well packed, delivered on time, came with cute porcelain "wooden shoe" magnet.
Repeated my order for 2006 - not so many this time! Again, excellent size and quality bulbs. Waiting to see how they bloom this year.

After reading all the positive posts here about ColorBlends.com, as well as the GardenWeb forums, I felt quite comfortable ordering from this vendor. I am extremely pleased to report that my first order from ColorBlends.com was an enjoyable, smooth, and overall excellent buying experience. Their web site is well organized and intuitive. When I called their toll-free number with questions, I spoke with a kind gentleman named Andre ~ who was polite, friendly, and helpful. Once ordered, my bulbs shipped the following day via UPS Ground and arrived the next ~ talk about efficiency! Their superb professional packing in strong, durable ventilated boxes (each strapped for added security) ensured my bulbs arrived safe and secure. ColorBlends' bulbs are vastly superior to anything I had examined at my local retail sources ~ and for substantially less cost (including their reasonable shipping costs, no less!) ~ now I know what bulbs are supposed to look like! They are clearly top shelf with their generous size and fresh, healthy appearance!! I ordered 1,900 bulbs (1,000 Starflower + Spanish Bluebells, Grape Hyacinth Blue Muscari, Tarda, Linifolia, & Clusiana Lady Jane). Each box contained clear planting instructions, a gorgeous catalog, my purchase invoice, and a bonus gift (a lovely wooden tulip in a vase). My spouse and I will be planting them all this weekend and look forward to a glorious color show next spring. In a word ~ OUTSTANDING!!!

I will purchase ALL of my bulbs from them in the future. Great quality and fast shipping. A+++
After many years of planting bulbs, I have finally discovered the source I will use from now to forever - COLORBLENDS.
The daffodils were wonderful and long lasting. The 'Rainbow Coalition' tulips were magnificent - not only were the colors vibrant and beautifully blended, they stood up straight and tall for more than three weeks through one of our rainiest California winters last year. What a delight.
The people are great to work with. I can't wait for the new catalog. Keep up the good work.
Colorblends has top-quality bulbs! I ordered a few hundred tulip bulbs last fall. They have all bloomed and the only way I could be happier would be if I had ordered twice as many. People walking or driving by have stopped to thank me. I am already planning my purchases for this fall.
