I ordered daylilies, lilium bulbs & hosta from Hallson Gardens. I was amazed at the size of the roots. Daylily fans are very nice size divisions. Customer service can't be beat either.

Just to update, All plants are thriving. Hostas are leafed out and gorgeous, Echinacea is growing, it was sent bare root and has almost caught up up with other from somwhere else that had leaves already! Daylilies are growing by leaps and bounds.
If they have what I want this is where I am going to buy it from now on. I have learned it doesn't hurt to inquire about something if it is not on their list.

Received my second order from Hallson Gardens today. I ordered 2 hostas and was given a bonus hosta also. They are very nice size plants and were packed well for plants already leafed out and the roots were still moist.
Hallson's is amazing!! 5 stars for Chris & Brian!!

Ordered numerous hostas and other perennials. The company was very good about notifying me of the shipping date, and changing the date upon request. Also, very responsive to e-mail questions about planting and other questions. Plants arrived in very good condition, with very substantial root systems. I initially was concerned about ordering bare root plants, but the roots looked so vigorous, I am confident they will do well. They even threw in an extra hosta as a bonus. Overall, a very good experience with this company.

Ordered a second time from this company, since the first batch was so great. The second group of plants was just as good as the first. The company also has great customer service. I was worried because three of the hosta had not yet poked through the ground. The owner advised me that those three typically appear later than others, and assured me that if for any reason they did not grow, they would be replaced without charge. Sure enough, the three grew as promised later in the spring. The fact that the company stood behind its product so well speaks volumes to the integrity of this outfit.

Very good quality healthy and large plants at very reasonable prices. Plus fast shipping (within a week), friendly service and generous bonus plants. Probably the best deal around in terms of quality/price. I've ordered daylilies and hosta in summer 2006, and was extremely pleased with plants, big and healthy. Got a bonus daylily, HUGE. They all bloomed first year planted late July! I've ordered more plants in fall, including astilbes, lilies and some others. Also got perfect plants plus extra astilbe and bonus lily bulbs. Lily bulbs were larger than I bought from big bulb company and cost only about 1/3-1/2 price (and they had live roots still attached). They have good selection of lilies, daylilies and shade perennials, and LOTS of hostas. I only wish I had a bigger yard. Thank you!

Well I started out all of my ordering of my plants on Friday...needless to say by Sunday When I made My order with Hallson's I thought that my budget was shot. I wish I had found them first. I order late Sunday afternoon... I had my plants my Wed. Morning! Everyone else has not even taken the time to confirm my orders! I am so Happy with my experience with Hallsons. I ordered alot of sedumsand alot of lady mantles which were big anough for me to divide so When I ordered 6 I actually got to plant 12. They are my new border along with my new coral bells. I am itching to order more but I gotta wait two weeks or at least until I scrounge up some more money. I am restoring my grandfather's garden which used to be legendary here in asheville NC. He used to be a grower for the biltmore estate so nnedless to say his garden was beautiful. After his death the house and garden just went into such disrepair by renting thier house. But since I have grown up, moved home, bought thier home and starting to fix his legacy to this yard. Hallson made such an impression on me that for a moment there was a glimmer of hope of seeing this echanted garden that I grew up playing in a reality just with a small box of plants. Thank you and I will be back again....and again

I have visted Hallson Gardens several times and each trip is great. Chris is very friendly and helpful. Often times he will take you down to the growing beds (a wooded hillside) and dig your hosta as you watch.

I order a few things from Hallson's (because of all of the positive feedback from this site) and was unaware that two of the items I had ordered were on sale. Not only did Hallson's give me the sale price, they also gave me a bonus plant. Oh yeah, I'll be back! Great company and absolutely beautiful, healthy stock. Thanks!

Received my 2nd order just a few days ago. Ordered two more hosta and received a bonus hosta. Chris apologized for the size of my 'Stained Glass' and gave me 30% off of that particular plant! Personally, I found it was just as healthy as the others I've rec'd, just a tad smaller. Opening a package of Hallson's large hosta kind of reminds me of opening one of those folding umbrellas, the plant just gets bigger and bigger as you unwrap the packaging (they DON'T fold their hostas)! I LOVE this place. Wish I had more space to plant (and unlimited funds, too). I'd send all my business to Hallson's.

This is my third year ordering from Hallson's. I was just hoping that their plants were as nice as last year. Well, this year, they were even better! Nice, fresh large hosta and many, many fans of daylilies! Love this place!

Nothing but good things to say about this company. The Hostas I ordered were in top condition and they even sent me a free plant too. Plants are doing well in the ground as I write this. Will do business with them again.

I ordered both Daylilies and Hostas. One Hosta came in "iffy" condition. When I contacted Chris at Hallson, he told me what to do. A few days later, a new wonderful Hosta (of the kind I had ordered), arrived in super condition and looking absolutely as lovely as I had hoped for. Although sent in good faith, I am paying him for the second unordered Hosta. The other plants are doing very well now, especially after days of rain. The packaging is superior.

I received well-formed Crocosmia bulbs and generous clumps of healthy Siberian Iris from Hallson Gardens. The Iris clumps were much larger than what I received from Bluestone Perennials. Excellent packaging & planting instructions. Reasonable prices too. I will definitely be purchasing from Hallson Gardens again in the future.

My plants arrived in excellent condition, perfectly packed, and the very specific planting instructions for each one were extremely helpful. I am not a professional or experienced gardener, so exacting instructions were important to my sucess with these plants. All plants are doing quite well and look healthy.

I purchased the peony 'Eden's Perfume' from Hallson Garden's website. I received emails keeping me informed thru the entire process. My package arrived quickly with a beautiful, freshly-dug peony. And bonus Lilium 'Cote d'azure' bulbs were included with my order! Our peony is planted and I'll update on this site on it's progress. I'm very satisfied with the customer service and quality of product (thus far). I would definitely order from them again!

I purchased six hibiscus plants from Hallson Gardens in early Spring. They arrived on schedule at the beginning of May in bareroot form. I was impressed with the quality of these bareroots, especially because I have grown hibiscus for years and last year, bought them from Springhill. There is no comparison beteween the two companies. Hallson is vastly superior, whereas in the case of Springhill I have received four replacement plants, all of which looked as if they might not grow. To be fair to Springhill, these bareroots may still thrive, although with Hallson I had no doubt whatsoever that they would grow from the beginning.

I ordered from this nursery for the first time this spring, and was absolutely delighted with the hostas I received. The root systems are phenomenal! All were large, beautiful divisions, and they have settled into the garden and put on excellent growth in just a few weeks. First rate customer service, with multiple emails (amazing this time of year), and a very nice bonus hosta, too. I'll definitely order again. Love their hosta forum--a great service to the gardening community.

Great company, just received my first order from them. They promptly respond to all emails and their plants are very healthy. I ordered a selection of Astilbes, a new plant for me, and wasn't quite sure what I was looking at when I opened the box. Fortunately, they send planting instructions for each plant (very nice) and I couldn't believe it when I came home tonight and saw my Astilbes already showing new growth. I just planted them over the weekend.

Second the hostas and perennials I received this year are large for mail order and have extensive roots. I ordered bare root peonies and lily bulbs this past fall. When the shipment arrived (right on schedule by the way) I was VERY pleased with the health of the roots and bulbs. Both were also of extremely large size. Very impressed. I also emailed them a couple of times and their responsiveness was top notch....answered within 24 hours and answered all my questions.

Absolutely AWESOME customer service. They treat you as though you are the only customer. Chris held an item for me although it was a sell-out. Products also first-rate and you get more than you ordered (even though what you ordered is already bigger than other companies, healthy), for example, ordered 3 bulbs and got 4, another item marked as 'too small to charge' and got the bulbs free - even other good companies would not do that!

I ordered lilies from this company. I was very please with all the lilies I received. They all grew and bloomed prolifically. I only had one that was not true to what I had bought, which was the lily "Stones". It's supposed to be totally red, and the bulbs I got must have gotten mixed up because they all were orange. When I e-mailed the company, they were quick to reply and say that they would replace the bulbs at no charge to me. I haven't received them as of yet, but most companies are just now beginnig to ship their lilies.
