If you stop by Hallson Gardens be sure to save some time to go to Hidden Lake Gardens and see their hosta hillside. Hidden Lake is the Michigan State University botanical gardens and their hosta hillside is the Michigan Hosta Society's show garden
I order a few things from Hallson's (because of all of the positive feedback from this site) and was unaware that two of the items I had ordered were on sale. Nothing but good things to say about this company. The Hostas I ordered were in top condition and they even sent me a free plant too. Plants are doing well in the ground as I write this. Will do business with them again.

I received well-formed Crocosmia bulbs and generous clumps of healthy Siberian Iris from Hallson Gardens. The Iris clumps were much larger than what I received from Bluestone Perennials. Excellent packaging & planting instructions. Reasonable prices too. I will definitely be purchasing from Hallson Gardens again in the future.
My plants arrived in excellent condition, perfectly packed, and the very specific planting instructions for each one were extremely helpful. I am not a professional or experienced gardener, so exacting instructions were important to my sucess with these plants. All plants are doing quite well and look healthy.
This is the first year that I've ordered plants online, and I've found the experience with Hallson Gardens to be very positive.

I purchased six hibiscus plants from Hallson Gardens in early Spring. They arrived on schedule at the beginning of May in bareroot form. I was impressed with the quality of these bareroots, especially because I have grown hibiscus for years and last year, bought them from Springhill. There is no comparison beteween the two companies. Hallson is vastly superior, whereas in the case of Springhill I have received four replacement plants, all of which looked as if they might not grow. To be fair to Springhill, these bareroots may still thrive, although with Hallson I had no doubt whatsoever that they would grow from the beginning.
Fantastic customer service. Plants arrived in great shape and everything is thriving, including several bonus flowers. Some of the best packaging of mail-order plants that I have ever seen. This company is first-rate and I highly recommend it. I'll be shopping at Hallson Gardens again.
I ordered from this nursery for the first time this spring, and was absolutely delighted with the hostas I received. The root systems are phenomenal! All were large, beautiful divisions, and they have settled into the garden and put on excellent growth in just a few weeks. First rate customer service, with multiple emails (amazing this time of year), and a very nice bonus hosta, too. I'll definitely order again. Love their hosta forum--a great service to the gardening community.

I've ordered twice from this company. First, the hostas and ferns I received last year are thriving this year. Second the hostas and perennials I received this year are large for mail order and have extensive roots. Both times I ordered I was given a free hosta and both times they were friendly professionals who got my order placed on time, despite changes in delivery dates.

By far the best mail order plants, I have ever received.
Hallson Garden rates A++ for their customer service, communications with customers and most outstanding, their plants. The plants surpassed even nursery bought plants for the size of the plant and the gorgeous root system.
I will be placing another order (the second in a week) to take advantage of their year end sale. You cannot go wrong with these fine folks.

I ordered lilies from this company. I was very please with all the lilies I received. They all grew and bloomed prolifically. I only had one that was not true to what I had bought, which was the lily "Stones". It's supposed to be totally red, and the bulbs I got must have gotten mixed up because they all were orange. When I e-mailed the company, they were quick to reply and say that they would replace the bulbs at no charge to me. I haven't received them as of yet, but most companies are just now beginnig to ship their lilies.

Probably the healthiest I have received from any mail order garden center. They also included an "extra" hosta, which tells me that their customer service is very important to them, which is very important to me. Just a comment to say how professional and classy this company is. I had a very good selection of hostas shipped carefully for a good price. Several weeks later, I got an e-mail telling me that they found a virused Grand Tiara in their stock from a supplier. They explained what needed to be done, sent a photo attachment of what the virus infection looks like, and offered refund, credit, or replacement. My hosta looked OK last time I checked on it 5 days ago, but I now am sure what I should do and will remove it. I don't have to ask for them to be responsible, and they have earned a loyal customer.
