Nothing but good things to say about this company. The Hostas I ordered were in top condition and they even sent me a free plant too. Plants are doing well in the ground as I write this. Will do business with them again.

I ordered both Daylilies and Hostas. One Hosta came in "iffy" condition. When I contacted Chris at Hallson, he told me what to do. A few days later, a new wonderful Hosta (of the kind I had ordered), arrived in super condition and looking absolutely as lovely as I had hoped for. Although sent in good faith, I am paying him for the second unordered Hosta. The other plants are doing very well now, especially after days of rain. The packaging is superior.
The thoughtfulness and promptness made me a fan of Hallson Garden. I will order again.

I received my order from Hallson Gardens one month ago. All plants were in great shape and are currently very happily thriving in my garden. This company is a "must" to order from again....and again...and again etc. Superior packaging, healthy plants and timely arrival.

I just received my second order for Hallson and I cannot say enough good things about this company. Healthy, healthy root systems, arrives on time. An added plus is their S&H fees which are incredibly reasonable. They will get my business again this spring!
I ordered several Russian sage, artemesia, and astible from this company in late winter for scheduled spring delivery. Literally every aspect of the transaction was easy and handled professionally by Hallston Gardens. All plants are alive and thriving. Highly recommend.

I placed my first order with Hallson Gardens in February of this year. Instead of paying for shipping, I opted to make the drive and pick everything up.
Today I bundled up the family and made the trip to Hallson Gardens. I am so impressed! Chris is kind, helpful, and a joy to chat with. The hostas and perennials are out of this world! The growing grounds are great fun to walk through. What turned into a rather small order blossomed into more plants than we even know what to do with! I'm looking forward to placing another order soon, as is my mother. Or maybe we'll just pop by instead of ordering online :-) We can't wait to go back!! Chris, thank you for a wonderful experience.
I received well-formed Crocosmia bulbs and generous clumps of healthy Siberian Iris from Hallson Gardens. The Iris clumps were much larger than what I received from Bluestone Perennials. Excellent packaging & planting instructions. Reasonable prices too. I will definitely be purchasing from Hallson Gardens again in the future.
My plants arrived in excellent condition, perfectly packed, and the very specific planting instructions for each one were extremely helpful. I am not a professional or experienced gardener, so exacting instructions were important to my sucess with these plants. All plants are doing quite well and look healthy.
This is the first year that I've ordered plants online, and I've found the experience with Hallson Gardens to be very positive.

I purchased the peony 'Eden's Perfume' from Hallson Garden's website. I received emails keeping me informed thru the entire process. My package arrived quickly with a beautiful, freshly-dug peony. And bonus Lilium 'Cote d'azure' bulbs were included with my order! Our peony is planted and I'll update on this site on it's progress. I'm very satisfied with the customer service and quality of product (thus far). I would definitely order from them again!

First order from Hallson's. I ordered from their July sale. What beauties I received and they looked as though they had just been dug even though they traveled through a terrible heatwave. I'll definitely order from them again.

I just received my first order of Heuchera from this company. I ordered two plants and they sent me another as a bonus. The plants arrived in excellent condition and I am extremely pleased with them and the fast delivery. A+++++++++++
I purchased six hibiscus plants from Hallson Gardens in early Spring. They arrived on schedule at the beginning of May in bareroot form. I was impressed with the quality of these bareroots, especially because I have grown hibiscus for years and last year, bought them from Springhill. There is no comparison beteween the two companies. Hallson is vastly superior, whereas in the case of Springhill I have received four replacement plants, all of which looked as if they might not grow. To be fair to Springhill, these bareroots may still thrive, although with Hallson I had no doubt whatsoever that they would grow from the beginning.
Fantastic customer service. Plants arrived in great shape and everything is thriving, including several bonus flowers. Some of the best packaging of mail-order plants that I have ever seen. This company is first-rate and I highly recommend it. I'll be shopping at Hallson Gardens again.
I ordered from this nursery for the first time this spring, and was absolutely delighted with the hostas I received. The root systems are phenomenal! All were large, beautiful divisions, and they have settled into the garden and put on excellent growth in just a few weeks. First rate customer service, with multiple emails (amazing this time of year), and a very nice bonus hosta, too. I'll definitely order again. Love their hosta forum--a great service to the gardening community.

Great company, just received my first order from them. They promptly respond to all emails and their plants are very healthy. I ordered a selection of Astilbes, a new plant for me, and wasn't quite sure what I was looking at when I opened the box. Fortunately, they send planting instructions for each plant (very nice) and I couldn't believe it when I came home tonight and saw my Astilbes already showing new growth. I just planted them over the weekend.
Another surprise was a free bonus plant! My order was not very large and yet they sent another type of Astilbe as a bonus. I wish I had ordered more from them.
I ordered h.EL-NINO and 3 field grown tiarella AND GOT
3 eyes for EL-NINO and tiarella clumps as big as my
hand, also a pulmonaria that was in excellant shape!

Excellent plants well packaged. This is the 2nd year I have purchased from them last year I ordered hostas this year perennials. The hostas are beautiful already! I can't wait to see the perennials come alive! Highly recommend!
I've ordered twice from this company. First, the hostas and ferns I received last year are thriving this year. Second the hostas and perennials I received this year are large for mail order and have extensive roots. Both times I ordered I was given a free hosta and both times they were friendly professionals who got my order placed on time, despite changes in delivery dates.

Just an update - I ordered a 3rd time and was very happy with the large healthy plants I received last week. I also got a great bonus set of Asiatic lilly bulbs and advice about what to plant when and why.

Great place for hosta's. Good size plants at a good price. Great customer service. I have emailed with the owner several times about the xvirus that effects some hosta's. He was very informative and helpful with all of my questions. Quality products from quality people. You can't go wrong here.

I ordered bare root peonies and lily bulbs this past fall. When the shipment arrived (right on schedule by the way) I was VERY pleased with the health of the roots and bulbs. Both were also of extremely large size. Very impressed. I also emailed them a couple of times and their responsiveness was top notch....answered within 24 hours and answered all my questions.

Absolutely AWESOME customer service. They treat you as though you are the only customer. Chris held an item for me although it was a sell-out. Products also first-rate and you get more than you ordered (even though what you ordered is already bigger than other companies, healthy), for example, ordered 3 bulbs and got 4, another item marked as 'too small to charge' and got the bulbs free - even other good companies would not do that!
Well I could go on and on....but my experience and all this other good feedback should make the point!
By far the best mail order plants, I have ever received.
Hallson Garden rates A++ for their customer service, communications with customers and most outstanding, their plants. The plants surpassed even nursery bought plants for the size of the plant and the gorgeous root system.
I will be placing another order (the second in a week) to take advantage of their year end sale. You cannot go wrong with these fine folks.

I ordered lilies from this company. I was very please with all the lilies I received. They all grew and bloomed prolifically. I only had one that was not true to what I had bought, which was the lily "Stones". It's supposed to be totally red, and the bulbs I got must have gotten mixed up because they all were orange. When I e-mailed the company, they were quick to reply and say that they would replace the bulbs at no charge to me. I haven't received them as of yet, but most companies are just now beginnig to ship their lilies.
A copy of the message I sent back to Hallson Gardens
You guys do more to impress me with each subsequent order I send in!
This order was acknowledged within seconds, but the most impressive thing is that I received a shipment tracking number within 75 minutes of placing the order. The performance on my first few orders was above my expectations and you keep raising the bar. Now I can make up for my procrastination and get my garden set for next spring
I will be back and I will tell my friends!!
Thank you for the quality products and best-in-class service

I just received my order of hostas from Hallson Gardens and could not be more pleased. The plants are good sized and very healthy. Probably the healthiest I have received from any mail order garden center. They also included an "extra" hosta, which tells me that their customer service is very important to them, which is very important to me. The packaging was superb and the roots were still wet when they arrived. I highly recommend and will definitely buy from again.
Just a comment to say how professional and classy this company is. I had a very good selection of hostas shipped carefully for a good price. Several weeks later, I got an e-mail telling me that they found a virused Grand Tiara in their stock from a supplier. They explained what needed to be done, sent a photo attachment of what the virus infection looks like, and offered refund, credit, or replacement. My hosta looked OK last time I checked on it 5 days ago, but I now am sure what I should do and will remove it. I don't have to ask for them to be responsible, and they have earned a loyal customer.
Another satisfied customer here! After seeing their ratings here, I decided to order from them. The order arrived super-fast (I think within 2 days of ordering), the plant was in good shape, and I even got a bonus freebie of some emerging fiddleheads of a fern I'd ordered, that they originally thought would not be available at this time. Would definitely order from again.
Visiting this grower is a delight. I visit several times a year. You are able to see many specimens growing in their own gardens and they can not be more helpful in answering questions. When they didn't have a particular specimen that I wanted potted and for sale, they sold me a piece of one growing in their own garden!
Every speciman I have purchased has grown beautifully.

This is a great nursery! I e-mailed ahead to see if they were going to be open over Memorial Day, and Chris promptly responded and even offered to hold two hostas for me. When I got there, Chris was able to find a third hosta that I thought was sold out. I purchased Dick Ward, Loyalist and Spilt Milk. The display gardens are "to die for". I had to hold myself back from buying more because I wanted another reason to return. Hallson's has wonderful sun and shade plants (and the nice shade plants are hard to find; epimediums, brunneras. . . ). Hope the move goes well and I'll be back!
