The Green Giants that I bought were GREAT!! My first purchase was for 50 plants and all but 3 survived, this was surely due to my terrible soil. They are all almost 4 feet tall now after only two years. The replacements that I ordered (quart containers)were bigger than I expected. The plants were all well packaged, arrived quickly and extras were included with my first batch of small trees. It is practically the only tree I have that the deers haven't touched. This is a wonderful company and a great tree. I have recommended both to all my friends.

What a wonderful experience dealing with Botany Shop. I ordered roses and hydrangeas from this earlier this spring. I was pleasantly surprized at the large size and health of the plants that were shipped. The expert packing kept all plants and soil in tact.

THEY EVEN CALLED TO MAKE SURE I WAS PLEASED WITH MY ORDER!!!

AWESOME COMPANY

I ordered 40 Green Giant Arborvitae from this company back in May. Not only did they send me an email telling me when the trees were to be shipped, but true to their word, they shipped the trees on that date, and they arrived within two days! The trees were in absolutely perfect shape and had been well packaged. Moreover, even though I had ordered relatively small-sized trees, they sent me much bigger trees AND send me 15 trees free of charge!

In short, The Botany Shop is an excellent vendor, and I'd recommend them to anyone.

After checking here to see how they rated I felt comfortable ordering the Thuja Green Giants I am using as a fast growing privacy hedge.
I was definitely pleased with my order of 10 - 1 quart size plants. The root balls were very nicely developed and each plant was as good as advertised. I also appreciated the bamboo stakes that were provided with them. Even better was the reasonable cost for each plant and s&h.
I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I found their website while searching for a source of DED resistant American Elms. I ordered two trees from them in the 1 gallon size, a Princeton Elm and a Valley Forge Elm.

They were shipped 5/10/04 the day after I ordered them! They came well packaged with instructions.

Both trees were exactly as pictured on their web site, large green leaves and fully branched. Despite having a few branches broken in shipping they are in great shape.

They did an outstanding job on my order.

I ordered 8 one gallon Thuja Green Giants in April. They shipped and were received right on time. Their condition was good but not excellent (one container was low on dirt with some roots exposed). I think they will do fine. We'll see after a year. I did appreciate all the information supplied on the web site.

On August 12th, 2004, Jim618 changed the rating from positive to neutral and added the following:

I now judge the plants I received in April as only being fair. A few only had limited bottom branches - meaning they were grown to close to each other. They also appeared to have powdery mildew on them. They are now growing as stated. We will just have to see if the bottom branches fill in. I found Green Giants in local nursery after I bought these and they were in much better condition so if I had to do it over again I would have bought from nursery.
On March 23rd, 2006, Jim618 added the following:

The 7 plants I have are doing well now. The first season they grew between 12 and 28 inches and the second season they grew between 45 and 34". They are now all between 7ft and 7ft 8" tall. I still am not impressed with what I initially received for the reasons already stated but I do like the plant and they are now doing well. It really has helped to put a 5ft mulched bed around them and water them when dry. I gave the 8th plant to my neighbor and he did neither. His has only grown a foot compared to ours growing 4+ feet in two years.

I just received an order from The Botany Shop. I ordered thuga "Green Giant", 6 plants and 4 plants of buddleia. They arrived in excellent condition. I was very pleased, both at their size and the shipping. I would definitely order from them again.

On March 4th, I ordered 20 of the Thuja Green Giant Conifers from Botany Shop.com. I gave them a ship date of March 15th. They were at my front door by March 17th and were some of the healthiest plants I have ever seen. I ordered the 7-9" plants in peat pots and I would say that they are all larger than 9" and all of them have well developed roots. I am VERY impressed with the quality of these plants. I haven't yet planted them outside due to some lasting cold weather in my zone but with Botany Shop's online instructions as a guide, I have planted them in pots to await spring like weather. I will post again when I actually plant these trees but I expect them to do very well. I would recommend Botany Shop without reservation!!

These people shipped on time, and the packaging was wonderful. I had a question about the dawn redwood I received, and the owner called me personally to discuss it with me. He was very friendly, and he promised that if for any reason the plant didn't make it in a year he would replace it. All in all a good experience.

After visiting this company in person, I can vouch for the high quality of its stock, as well as the good care they take in caring for their young plants.

I purchased one of the plants that they offer mail-order, as well as several things that are only available at their nursery. The staff on duty that day were very helpful, knowledgeable, and highly pleasant to deal with in person.

I ordered 5 quart size Green Giant plants last fall. I'm not sure if I planted them too late or if our hot/cold winter burned out the young plants, but 3 didn't make it. I wrote to them asking only for advice on what to do to prevent it from happening again and they offered to replace the damaged plants at 1/2 price. Very courteous and they are loyal to their customers...both of which are rare today!
