We will be rolling out several small fixes mid-day today (Jan 29.) We do not anticipate any disruptions or problems, but f you spot any unexpected issues after 12 noon (PST), please report them in the designated thread in the DG Site Updates forum.
A very happy customer!!!
My trees arrived in great condition. Beautiful and Healthy.I planted them right away, same day i received them. The shipping was fast. And the service was great. For the price and value of these trees is unbelievable. This company get's A plus from me.I will definitely order from this company again. If i have anymore room left.Thank you so much for the wonderful trees.
I was initially skeptical because I have never had plants delivered before. However, the plants were promptly shipped and they arrived very healthy, in spite of 95 degree weather. The plants were exactly the size that was promised and the root systems were very healthy. I highly recommend Anything Green!!

John, John, John. You are my hero! Let this be the comments to end any fears any buyer may have. I ordered the plants and they shipped on the following monday as promised. I paid for three day shipping. Was twenty bucks extra but I know getting them in the ground asap is so very important. I received them in two days instead of three. I was delighted at the size and condition of my 2.5" pot Thuja's. All we very healthy, all had great root structure. Of course the UPS monky's handled them like a bowling ball but that is not John's fault. Since they were packed so well I mean very well I honestly don't know how they managed to shake any soil from the pots. Leave it to them though and they will find a way. Lose of soil was minimal even so. Plants were almost dripping they were so moist and the waxed boxes John used were heavy duty. Have to be when UPS handles them! Ok customerers you have to know I live in southeast Ga and it is Aug 29th. The days these were ordered, in shipping and planted the temp was 95+ degrees and relative humidity was 100%. Not exactly the time of year for this but I wanted to get them in the ground and growing before the fall. I called John to ask if he was shipping now, not many suppliers will ship now that I have found for this plant. John called me back within hours of my message I left him. Be patient people, he is trying to get every one their wonderful trees! I bought Thuja bare root plants from another supplier. Not I feel like they ripped me off since John has such great prices and quality. The 2.5" pots were so easy to handle and plant. I almost felt like I was cheating they were so easily planted. Folks as far as them living, we will see. The odds are against me but it was worth a shot but if hey die? Well I knew I was up against the odds in this heat and semi-drought we are under here. Folks we as the buyer have responsibility. I can't say enough about soil prep. Remember these trees need air! I tilled the crap out of my soil the day before my plants arrived. Remember, I paid for faster shipping. GET YOUR PLANTS AS FAST AS YOU CAN! If you are too tight to pay a little extra shipping then you probably shouldn't be ordering plants you expect to live. If you can't afford some extra shipping then you probably cant "really" afford the plants! I placed Swan soaker hoses by every single tree! I did this as they got in the ground! Do not procrastinate with the water. Give your babies some wet stuff asap! My wife and I live on a tight budget sine she is a stay at home mom and we have to make it on 33k per year. John thank you for making these so affordable. In my situation, it would take me a long time to purchase the plants I need from other suppliers at their cost. Thats why I will buying the other 300 or so more from you. And to help you help me on the price I will be sending you the empty containers and trays back. I hope many others in my shoes find you and your products that are in my financial shoes so they can enjoy these trees too. So John keep up the excellent work and thanks again! Ronnie R.
I'm sorry to hear that some people had negative remarks. We bought 110 Leland cyress and they all arrived in perfect condition! Packed very well and came exactly the day they were promised. So far, we have planted about half of them and they look GREAT!
Thanks for such a fabulous transaction!!
I was a little hesitant to order trees online, but I figured for the price, I would take a shot. Much to my surprise, the trees were in phenomenal shape.
The box that they packed them in had some sort of wax lining that kept the moisture in. The plants were green from top to bottom. The soil was still moist.
I have planted 35 of the 50 so far. I cannot wait until I have created a complete barrier around my backyard. I AM ONE HAPPY CUSTOMER!!!!
I ordered Thuja giant trees and they were delivered very quickly. The packing was a bit rough but the trees were very nice. I was pleasantly suprised at how big they were for the price. I had ordered similar trees from another web site and although they arrived with fertilizer and very well packed the cost was 3 times more per tree. For my order things worked out well. Thank you Beth
About 3 weeks ago I ordered from Anythinggreen.com 135 Leyland Cypress trees at $1.79 apiece and $20 shipping. They arrived at my Georgia farm just 4 days later, intact and smartly packaged. Planted them over the next 2 days. About 2 - 3 are in trouble, the rest are doing fine with a once-a-week drip irrigation watering. Planted them with a mix of good top soil and Black Kow. The 2-3, if lost, is -- an acceptable loss rate (human-planter error could be a factor, crappy soil here and there, or sure, yeah, a bad tree or two in the mix), and I feel like I got a good deal. Some places (like Lowe's) can "guarantee" their plants but they just charge you extra for "insure" against that loss. Anythinggreen doesn't guarantee, but that keeps its prices down, and if they ship crap then they lose our business and we complain to each other about them. So on balance, I think it's an excellent company because the price is excellent and the shipment was prompt. I only wish they sold hedges -- I could use about 100 privet hedges (" LIGUSTRUM VULGARE"). Are you listening, Anythinggreen.com?
I ordered 30 Green Giant 1 gallon size pots. Got them very quickly and all were very healthy. I will purchase more of them in the fall. I will also recomend them to my friends . Thanks for the good experience. Keep up the good work
jimmer_p must be lucky on his order. You ordered after us and recieved them before us.
My wife and I ordered 40 Green Giants on May 12 and have yet to receive them. We have emailed and left a message on the answering machine on the 16th. No reply. I emailed again yesterday the 17th, still no reply.
The only thing I have is a UPS tracking number that shows us the billing information was received. I called the UPS to find out exactly what this meant. They told me they have been given the shipping information but UPS hasn't received the package from AnythingGreen.com yet.
This has been one sorry experience and the poorest customer service I have ever received. Hopefully future customers go elsewhere to avoid the headaches.
If John Pounders feels this is unfair then maybe I ought to take his $88 and give him a bogus tracking number. The negative feedback will stick until he fixes the problem!!!

On June 10th, 2007, gijimbo changed the rating from negative to positive and added the following:
I have upgraded the rating from Negative to Positive because of the quality and condition of the trees. I received the trees via UPS during a 90+ degree day. I placed the trees in the basement and watered them to keep the root ball damp. I waited until the weather broke to give me a cooler day. I planted the trees that Friday just before it rained. So far I haven't lost a single tree.
There was some spillage of the potting soil, but that is to be expected. I haven't seen a spill-proof container yet. Even if they have them I am sure it would be cost prohibitive to use them.
The Friday after I posted the original feedback I did receive a phone call and email explaining what happened. They were away. This still doesn't explain the delay in shipping from jimmer_p to myself.
Anyway, I did receive the trees. They were in good shape. I did receive an explanation from AnythingGreen.com as to the whereabouts of my order. Should I need more trees in the future I will be back to order more. I will call first to make sure someone is there or will be there to fill the order.
I give anythinggreen.com two thumbs up and big BOOOYAHHH!! I ordered 25 thuja green giants on Sunday May 13, 2007 and I received the order on Wednesday May 16, 2007. That is some fast shipping folks! The trees were packed very well on their sides in the 2.5 inch pots. You can't beat the excellent price and excellent product. All of the trees were intact and just plain beautiful. I order alot of products online but this is the first I have ordered trees or plants. I plan on buying more from anythinggreen.com. I highly recommend this business. Thank you very much John Pounders!!

I was left without my spring order of 30 Thujas when another retailer could not ship due to frost damage of his stock. I found Anything Green's Thujas the very next morning and was able to order them before the weekend (Friday morning.) They were shipped the next week Monday and I had them Wednesday evening (Colorado.)
Able to get the proper fertilizer (home depot) and some Lime (local garden shop) for the planting and get the little trees in.
They had a little copper color on some tips but are turning green again now.
I will definitely order any replacements I need from this company next year!
Seeking_Thujas (well now I'll have to get another account name!)
We ordered 50 leyland cypresses and received them within two days. Once we had started planting them we realized we were a couple short (due to our own error in calculating how many we would need). Despite their purchase minimum, they were very nice about allowing us to order just the few we needed. We would recommend them to anyone who wants quick service at good prices and good plants.
Ordered 26 of the gal. size Thuja Green Giants. Arrived within a week. All healthy looking specimens. Were shipped in heavy card board boxes like frozen food would be shipped in. They are packed on their sides, so some soil loss is enevitable, especially with the way the UPS monkeys handle them from there to here. But, were all moist, and healthy. unpacked them and watered them. Will plant next week. Very pleased so far. :)
I ordered trees from Anytthing Green and I received the order within a week of ordering. Everything was in good shape and John Pounders emailed me to ask if I was satisfied with the order. UPS is a little rough on these boxes, some of the pots had no soil and some were burried by the soil that had spilled from the others. I don't think you can blame that on AnythingGreen though.
I ordered the minimum order of Twenty 2.5 inch Thuja Green Giant trees from AnythingGreen.com, as I had never ordered before. I recieved my trees promptly and they were in perfect condition and completely hydrated. My husband and I planted them yesterday and we will be ordering more today!

I ordered 200 Thujas, having 120 spaces (holes for planting). Out of those 200 trees, 60 died. We followed all planting instructions supplied by AnythingGreen's John Pounder; even so, the high death rate. Originally plants were delivered packed on their sides, so that when you opened the box, most of the soil fell out of each plant leaving "naked" root balls. We quickly rushed into town for Sta-Green tree potting soil and resoiled and watered each container. Yes, they offer a good price, but by the time I got finished, it was far more expensive than anyone else. We are trying to "resolve" the matter with John Pounder, owner of the company, but beware, as they offer no refunds nor guarantees. We will report on the final outcome soon.

On September 9th I wrote Dave's Garden with my experience of Anything Green. I e-mailed John Pounder of Anything Green to see if I could either get some money back or replacements for the 60 dead Thuja trees out of the 200 we ordered. He, nor anyone on his behalf, would even give me the courtesy of a reply e-mail or phone call. BUYER BEWARE !!
I ordered a total of 60 Thuja Giants...2 separate orders...they are the greatest trees...healthy and vibrant...they withstood the shipping and the heat because they were packed so well and kept moist right to my doorstep...I just wish that Anything Green would sell other type of trees....example>>>my favorite >>>the Weeping Willow...Do you ever expect in the future to sell other types of trees?...That would be the great....
Thank-You so much for your pretty Thuja's and the price is fannnnnntastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I preordered 30 thuja "green giant" plants. They came in good condition and were a good size for a $1.88 price. In fact, I was so happy with them that I returned to the site to order some more but there were only 7 left for purchase. I will keep on returning to the site until more are availiable. Also, I will look forward to the company offering more types of plants.
I ordered trees nearly two weeks ago and paid extra for 3 day delivery. So far nothing has arrived and no word from everything green even though I have e-mailed several times. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau very shortly if I do not hear back soon.

My trees just arrived today. I have to say that they are very nice. They were packed well, healthy and arrived in good condition. My original problem was that I hadn't heard anything from Anything Green and the e-mail with my tracking info didn't do anything. It didn't do anything because the trees hadn't been shipped. After they were sent, the tracking was great and I knew right were they were. I wouldn't hesitate to order again (in fact I probaby will in about 6 weeks) now that I know it may be a little while before the trees are sent. On Jul 28, 2006, AnythingGreen.com responded with:

Just received my shipment of 120 'Thuja Green Giant 2.5 inch pot' plants today. The plants are healthy and beautiful. They called a few days before shipping just to make sure I was going to be home this week. I'm very pleased with this company and wanted to say thanks!

On a chance I ordered 20 Thuja Green Giants. Wondering all the time if I had wasted my time and money. When they arrived as promised, and I opened the container I knew I had found a new plant source. The trees were large, healthy and well packed. They have been in the ground for about 4 months now and are doing fine. Every has one survived the South Georgia heat so far. My sister ordered 30 for herself and 10 more for me with the same results, and we have an order in now for more. I have ordered a lot of different plants from numerous nurseries, and these folks are a Class Act
Ordered 30 shrubs. Plants arrived damaged with many broken branches and stems. Packing cosisted of placing containers on their sides in a box.Half the plants were devoid of soil-the other half buried.Anything green offers no warranty and judging from the plants I received I can see why.
I ordered 85 of the Thuja "green giant" seedlings which came with an extra one, added by them, for free, all in good condition, really healthy appearance. I am impressed, for the money, you can't beat them, and the shipping was quick, and container well packed. A little dirt had fallen out of some of the pots, but no harm done as far as I can see. Roots still covered and moist. I would do business with these guys any day of the week. Today comes the hard part, getting them all in the ground. Hoping that goes as smooth as the purchase did.

I have signed up at AnythingGreen and sent e-mail about ordering thuja green giants.
The only response I get is when I have signed the waiting list (around 5 times) then my e-mailed response is that I'm such and such number on the list. I have been anywhere from 3 on the list to 65 (?) at different times.
I don't think a person is reading the e-mails and an automatic response is sent.
I would really like to know if the ThujaGreens are available for fall plantings of if spring planting is only recommended and if I will be able to order these.

The system you are using is fully automated. Once we have more plants ready the inventory is updated and the emails are sent to those on the waiting list. The number you are on the waiting list doesn't really matter. Buying plants is still first come first served. Responding to the confirmation emails won't help and signing up multiple times only creates more places for you. Anyway, sorry for the misunderstanding and a different rating would be much appreciated. These plants should be available in late August!

I too have tried several times to contact this company. At least 4 emails and have also left 3 phone messages. This was several months ago. I also signed for newsletter way back when. I finally gave up! Then today I receive my 1st newsletter!
Imagine my frustration? I live in Florence, AL about 6 miles from the company and cannot find or get a response. It is a shame because I would really like to have ordered product from them. I do however feel it would be foolish to pay shipping from one town to the same town.

2 Weeks ago I ordered 65 Thuja trees (the small 8-12" ones), I have never used AnythingGreen and based my sale almost entirely on the reviews here on this site. There was a discrepency in the delivery date but it turned out to be my fault and NOT AnythingGreens. In fact, after I realized what had happened, the trees ended up getting to me a day earlier than was indicated. Let me tell you, I have NEVER been so IMPRESSED with an online order. These trees are GORGEOUS and one was better than the next. There was not one under 8 inches and there were several over 12 inches. There was at least an inch of bright green new growth on each and each one of the 2.5" pots held good, damp soil with roots that actually extended out of the bottom of the pots. They were FANTASTIC. I planted all of them 2 days after they were delivered and they look great. I would recommend this company to ANYONE, there product, customer service and price cannot be beat. This is ONE HAPPY CUSTOMER!!!
I am at a loss. I just can not get any response from this company. I signed up for their newsletter and received an immediate response. HOWEVER, I have emailed them 4 times regarding my desire to purchase from them and have never received a response. Since they do not list a phone number and are not listed in any other directories that I can find, I don't know how else to contact them. Any suggestions?? Thanks!

After one final try, I did get a response from the company that said "...I believe our spam filter caught your emails." Seems strange because I was emailing directly within their website using their web form. In any event, I changed the rating to neutral.
I ordered 20 Thuja Green Giants and 20 Leyland Cypress from AnythingGreen.com. The plants that arrived far exceeded my expectations - these are the best plants I have ever received through an internet or catalog order!
I would very highly recommend this company to anyone, and will definitely order from them again myself.
This company shows an address for the company, but no phone number. I attempted to contact the company several days ago by email, but never received a response. I attempted to get a phone number from directory assistance. but was unable to find a listing for this company at the address provided. In my email to the company I gave my phone number for someone to call me. No one ever called nor did they email me back with their phone number. I would like to make a purchase, but am interested in picking the order up myself since I live in Alabama near their listed location.

I took a chance and went ahead and placed an order. Once I received my confirmation of the order it stated that my credit card statement would show the charge through another company. I obtained a phone number and address for the company stated in the confirmation, and made contact with that company. I ask how they were related to AnythingGreen.com, and was told that AnythingGreen.com was actually their son's business. They were very pleasant and provided all the information I was concerned about. My shipment arrived and I was very pleased with the plants. I was even contacted after the delivery of my plants to follow up on how pleased I was. The company went far and beyond my expectations. I would recommend this company to anyone, and will definitely order more plants as time permits.
I recently recieved my 20 Giant Thuja Trees and they were well packed and in excellent shape. I plan to plant them this weekend and can't wait to see how well they do. This company kept me well informed of when they would be in stock and the shipments progress. They get an A from me for customer service.
I was very pleased with the quality of plants I recieved. They were well rooted, when packed for shipment was done in a manner that the plants arrived in excellent shape. They arrived promptly in the same condition as when originally packed. The prices seemed quite reasonable and the quality excellent. I have just placed another order for an additional 45 plants. Keep up the good work.

I ordered 61 Thuja Green Giants from Anythinggreen. I didn't know what to expect...but was VERY pleasantly surprised! I had planted 34 Leland Cypress about three years ago and decided to back them up with some Green Giants in case of blight. I will definately order more as soon as they become available!
Like others I did not get in on the May shipping, but after being notified by email, I got in on the last shipping.
I have ordered things by mail before, so imagine my surprise when I saw such robust health in a box! I ordered 20 Thuja Green Giants. It was a pure joy to pot them up in gallon pots for now, till I decide where to put them. I did not choose three day select and so those trees made it from Alabama to the Pacific Northwest in a hot time of year. Four days in the box and they were still doing good. I will pick better shipping next time...but JBPounders mailed the trees at the optimum time avoiding the Memorial Day Weekend drag that might occur on the mail. He also has excellent communication and follow up. I will order again with confidence. Thanks Anything green!
I tried to order trees from Anything Green and they were out of stock. When I emailed and asked about when the trees would be in stock they added me to their newsletter and I was able to order the trees when they received their next shipment. I ordered 200 (that's right - 200) trees. The trees arrived on the date they told me they would and the trees were in excellent condition!! The only problem ( a very small one) was that one of the containers was missing a tree, but, this is understandable.
Again - I am very pleased and impressed by the service offered by John Brooks Pounders. I plan on ordering another 200 and I would recommend them to anyone!
