Gardener's Supply is my number one gardening supply company. I have ordered dozens of times from them---always great pricing (discount coupon codes) prompt courteous service, great quality products for the serious gardener! I recently called to see if a last minute order had shipped yet for the children at school and they expedited it without charge or notice! What a pleasant surprise! There is no other garden supply that rivals their service!!!

I have ordered from this company for several years now. They are always pleasant to deal with personally and I've never had a problem with an order. I have purchased the black plastic raised beds and have had great success with them!
I try to shop when there is a little discount as their products are a little expensive for me but then again, if there is something that will work in my house and garden I save up and order it.

Another positive experience with Gardener's Supply. I had purchased a pair of toe warmers 3 months ago that stopped working after 2 uses. I forgot about them and recently came across my receipt. I wrote and, despite my delay, they politely offered a replacement, a refund, or credit. Not every product a company sells will be perfect, but perfect customer service is rarer still.

I had been searching for a rolled bamboo fencing to cover a chain link fence. Gardeners Supply not only had what I needed, but had it on sale and did not add ridiculous shipping fees like some of the others wanted. (one competitor more than doubled the cost of the fence with the shipping charges). It arrived on time, in good condition and it is even better quality than the web photos portrayed. Two (green) thumbs up!
Buyer beware! Unfortunately I purchased some items from Gardener's Supply Company. I have no complaint with the product, but after receiving them I found the same item at another site on-line for 30% less!! Shipping and handling charges were also significantly more than the other site. Before you buy from them, spend a few minutes on-line searching for other sellers. You will likely save some money.
Have to be one of the most friendly companies. I ordered some vericomposting worms. I had a few specific questions about them that the many generic articles out there on vericomposting didn't discuss. I wanted to use the spent coffee grounds at work and wasn't sure I could feed them 15 lbs a week without them getting into a coffee toxicity or something and only offer the occasional kitchen scraps. I got an auto-generated response saying it would be several days to answer my question. I get a 2 page answer and an article on their website about my specific question. Then, a few other links to advanced topics dealing with worm composting. They put a lot of effort into helping me, and answer my very specific question and I'll be ordering from them again.

I have become a regular customer of Gardener's Supply and overall find the company to be excellent in terms of speed of delivery and quality of items they sell. The company really tries hard to satisfy their customers, which is more than I can say for many online or brick and mortar merchants. I cannot recommend Gardeners Supply highly enough. I have placed six orders with them to date and will place my seventh today. I have had a few occasions to contact the company and each time the problem was promptly and courteously resolved - I received one item that had a broken piece, and 4 hours after sending an email to customer service I received a response apologizing and assuring me that a replacement would be sent promptly - no need to send the broken piece back, which I appreciated. I also called about the status of a backordered item and the phone customer service rep was very friendly and helpful and really knew the products. I have been very happy with the quality of all of the merchandise I have ordered as it is exactly as represented in the catalogs and on the website.

This company is great and I would order from them anytime! I ordered seedballs which got lost in the mail and they sent a replacement immediately and I also ordered a solar starburst light that had a defect and they are sending me a replacement for that as well no questions asked. This is a really personable and well-run company! We have a number of excellent nurseries in our area that have extensive plants and some garden implements, but the choices are extremely limited (or non-existent) on larger items such as hose carts, high quality tomato cages, composters... a friend recommended Gardener's Supply and I was amazed at the number of items on their website -- not just one or two items in a category, but REAL choices!
My first experience with the company was falling head over heels for an enormous tumbling composter -- that was discontinued, but I took a chance that they might still have one at their outlet store -- we made the trip to the store in person, I had the photo and description from the website, and sure enough, they still had a few in the back! I was impressed that the staff knew their extensive merchandise line well and even made suggestions of items they had personally used. I bought several large and bulky items, that one of the staffers took out of the original packing and helped me pack into my small car (no easy feat)!
When I got home, I was the envy of my neighbors with the sturdiest tomato cages ever, the incredible HUGE composter and the tractor scoot! All of the items are very well-made, durable and easy to assemble, and the container booster mix they sell did wonders for my 30' by 2' brick planter. I had hoped to make another trip to the retail store and outlet a few weeks ago, but my plans changed... and that day a free shipping offer came by email-- I got to order the huge hose cart and several organic products -- on sale! What is the most amazing is that the items were ordered on Saturday and I had them delivered to me the following Wednesday!!!
Not nearly as much fun as a trip to Burlington VT in the springtime, but much easier on the car!
I HIGHLY recommend them and am glad to see them listed in the Top 30.
I have been ordering from Gardeners Supply for years (some of my APS are so old they might qualify as antiques!). I have ordered all sorts of things from them, and though they might not be the least expensive for products or shipping, I have found their customer service to be terrific--and personal. For garden supplies, they're at the top of my list.

I have ordered from them several times, and have been completely and totally satisfied with all aspects of the purchase (website, communication, and shipping). They have a good selection of useful and unique products which are high-quality and priced fairly. On many products, they also include helpful tips and or additional info for assembly, etc.
I have ordered from Gardener's Supply several times in the past and received the merchandise I ordered as it was described. My last order has been a disaster and I will NEVER order from them again. I ordered the folding firewood cart. When I unpacked the order on March 10th I did a parts inventory of the hardware. I was missing one cotter pin and received 3 bolt and nut sets instead of the five required. I immediately called the number on the parts list and was told they would send the hardware in about two weeks. I then e-mailed Gardener's Supply to complain about the poor quality of the cart. The cart would be simple to put together if the parts fit, but they don't. I'm a 53 year old pharmacist and I have a lifetime of experience putting things together, but the parts have to fit, I can't bend metal etc to make them fit....I also told Gardener's Supply about the missing cotter pin and the missing bolt and nut sets.....they also told me they would send the missing parts. As of March 27th I have not received the missing cotter pin or missing bolt and nut sets. I asked the name of the carrier and tracking number and got one of those "lost in the mail " stories.... I have lived in the SAME house for 26 years .... I also never got the hardware from the company that I called when I unpacked the firewood cart......guess that was "lost in the mail" too......

And in defense of the US Postal service I've never known a "lost in the mail story" that turned out to be true and I received the package that Gardener's Supply mailed to me on April 5th ....they mailed it March 10th ...... it arrived on schedule for the way it was shipped.
For many years I have ordered various items from this company. I have a very low customer # to prove it! I have ordered various items from a garden cart, bird feeders, tools, plants, dishes etc: Not once have I been disappointed. Only one time was something placed on back order. I do think that their shipping rates are high - but I order heavy items. Their bags of soil are excellent and so is their compost.
They seem to have most everything a gardener (or others) would need, want or crave. Once in a while I've had to call customer service, and have been pleased with the results. This is one of the very few places I would recommend because they are consistent with results.

The only disappointing thing about this company is the high price of shipping. I try to avoid orders of single small items because the shipping almost doubles the price. But if you are placing a larger order, the cost of shipping ends up feeling more reasonable.
