They have a good selection. I was able to find palm that I couldn't find at the local nurseries.
The large palms were shipped in individual boxes.
All of the palms I ordered arrived in great shape. Good quality and healthy plants about 5-6 ft tall.
I received my order after about 10 days. I guess it is average.
I did not have a need to ask specific questions, thus I do not know about the customer service.
However a positive shopping experience. good quality and size.

I live in Ohio but palms needed to be delivered and installed in my second house located in the florida Keys.
I was quite nervous since I was there only for a few days and wanted to make sure they would be installed before I leave.
I ordered 3 8ft pseudophoenix : vinifera, sargentii, ekmanii
They delivered the palms on the day we agreed. They were installed in half a day.
Palms look great and the owner gave me a lot of advice about watering and fertilizing the palms.

I Ordered 2 adonidia merrilli @ $10.00 (christmas palm)
and 3 royal palm @ 16.00
they were all 6 ft tall and the christmas palms had multiple trunks.
They were packed carefully in their container.
They look very healthy and beautiful.
I regret to have ordered palms previously from an hawaiian nursery. I paid $4 a piece for small bare root liners about 10 inches tall. (3 of them died after a few weeks)
Here, I got beautiful palms in their pot.
I am very pleased with my order.

I purchased several tall palms from this company in june for my new house.
They delivered them directly to my house in Naples, FL with their truck. (only $30 delivery charge)
I ordered 12 royal palms 10 ft tall in 25 gallons container at $175 each.
The palms delivered were more 12-13 ft.
They did the installation for a fee of $25 per palm (including digging, adding good soil & fertilizer)
I am very pleased , palms look great . It is a very good price for the size and quality
I like their delivery and installation service . especially for that price.
The nurseries in the Naples area wanted at leat $250-300 for royal palms of that size. and installation was not included.
I will definitely order from them again.

I have ordered a number of times from Palms & Gardens.
They have an extremely wide selection of palm species that you can't find other places.
I particularly like the fact that they have large palms and not just small liners
The plants have come in excellent condition and well packed.
Palms ordered were all as described and very healthy.
Prices are reasonable for the size and the company website gives the order status and shipping info.
I compared with local nurseries in my area in California and when I could find the same palm species , it was 3 to 4 times more expensive for a comparable plant size.
Shipping was relatively fast.
I will definitely order again.

My plants arrived quickly and in great shape and they look healthy.
I choosed them due to their large selection of large palms.
I ordered some phoenix canariensis 5 ft @ $20.00 and foxtails 6 ft at $16.00.
they arrived in their container in great shape. I did not have to worry with transplant shock.
The foxtails were so tall that they bended carefully the top leaf.
I am very pleased , I do not have to wait several years to get a palm that size.
very good value and person I was in contact with is very knowledgeable about palms.

I placed an order on 5/4/04 for a musa ensete maurelli banana (5-6 foot) and have never received any notification except for my Visa check card being promptly charged. I have tried emailing four times with no response -- first just to see if the item was in stock and the last time today suggesting a refund.
I don't mind waiting for quality, rooting, etc., but no responses or updates leaves me feeling I am being taken advantage of. Other companies simply don't take an order if they are going to be out of something for a long time or if the plant needs special preparation periods (rooting, etc.)
Depending on when I call, the phone # either isn't accepting calls, isn't accepting messages or goes straight to fax -- never a chance to leave a message or talk to a live person. Today I also tried the 800#s posted on this page by the company and they didn't work. This is my last resort before going to the Better Business Bureau to post a complaint.

I still wish they would have communicated with me previously as I would have waited and been happy if I'd just known what was going on, but I am changing the negative I posted earlier today to a neutral as they did refund my money via paypal within one hour of my refund request.
I placed my first order with Palms & Gardens this month.
I decided to start with the palms they advertise on special : one royal palm 6ft , one foxtail 6ft
and one phoenix roebellenii multiple trunks 5 ft. (all at very good prices $16 and $25.)
At first, I was a little anxious to see if I would receive the correct size and get good quality palms.
They arrived well packed . wrapped individually in paper sleeves. Size was what was advertised and with a nice trunk.
Everything was of very good quality and kept perfectly in their special long deep containers.
I am very satisfied with my order. It took about 10 days to receive it.but it was expected in the winter. I am located in Ohio and they emailed me they would not ship until the temperature would be warm enough.
I used to order from growers in Hawaii but received only small seedlings. With the express next day air shipping
and the minimum order amount required by the growers in hawaii, I was paying the same price for palms 2-3 inches tall.
Now I can get palms 5-6 ft tall for a similar price shipped ground and not have to wait 5 years or longer to have a palm of a decent size.
I will definitely order again from Palms & Gardens.
They have a large selection and they have a long list of specials at very good value for the size shipped.

I ordered palms I could not find anywhere in interesting sizes. (Phoenicophorium borsigianum, metroxylon vitiense, caryota zebrina, carpoxylon macrospermum)
They have a very convenient delivery service for florida residents.They deliver with their truck on fridays or saturdays for a low flat rate.
I recieved nice palms 6 and 7 ft tall as described on their web site during the order.
For the metroxylon and carpoxylon they sent me an email with a list of large sizes not listed on their web site.
(They told me they kept large specimen palms for botanical gardens requests and upscale landscaping projects in Palm Beach County.)
Delivery was on the day I scheduled with them. I found this delivery service very convenient. The palms arrived in container and in great shape.
They gave me as well some specific planting instructions since my garden is very sandy and with blocks of coral.
They even brought a special fertilizer and soil mix they did for some landscape projects in Key Largo.
I am very pleased and will definitely order again.
Palms are of a nice size and I can enjoy them right away.

On 11/16/2003, I ordered 3 palms from this company, as of this date 1/25/2004, I have yet to receive them. I have called the Company Three times about my order. The first Two times the company said they would be mailed out in a week, on the Third call they told me their truck would be in my area and they would bring them to me on 1/19/2004, well, they never showed up. My next call will be to the State of Florida's District Attorneys office. As you know they accept Credit Cards payments through PayPal only. Last summer I received a phone call from Wells Fargo bank about my order I placed in June of 2003. I informed Wells Fargo Bank that at that time I received my order in a few weeks. Well, I quess my luck has ran out!!

Recieved my palms today 1/30/2004 from Palms and Gardens. All were very high quality plants. Just took almost 3 months to get them, and many phone calls.
This is the third year in a row that I've ordered from this company.
They are able to ship rare palms up to 6 ft tall.
The palms have been healthy, unique, and excellent value for the money. They were the only place I could find large rare palms.
I want to enjoy right away my palms in the garden instead of ordering small seedlings and wait 6 to 7 years for a tiny plant to grow.
Additionally, the packing is well done: long paper sleeve around the leaves and the trunk inside shredded paper and peanuts.
I was very happy with the quality. They are definitely the place to go for quality large palms on the internet.
