I was looking to purchase some rain lily bulbs. I got the vendor Buried Treasures off this website. I contacted them about the rain lilys. They responded quickly to my questions and about their inventory. I placed my order, paid by PayPal on Oct 20, 2009 I recieved my order of over 200 rain lily bulbs on Oct 28, 2009. the packaging was great, planting instructions clear and easy to follow, and everthing arrived safely and in an amazing short period of time. It was a pleasure doing business with Gretchen and Chris at Buried Treasures in the future I would not hesitate to place another order.

I placed an order July 5th, paid through paypal, was given a tracking number which does not work, today is August 5th and no shipment. Both, Chris and Gretchen have been emailed and asked why my order has not been shipped. I have all copies of emails, both direct and D-mail. On July 16th, they said the order was shipped and this was the last time that they have communicated, although I have repeatedly emailed for my order. I placed a dispute with paypal, and told them that I was going to give negative feedback. It seems that they do not care. I still do not have my order. I have no clue how they are in the top 30 on Dave's list. I can just imagine what the others are like.

I just received an email, Aug. 9th, from Chris and Gretchen thanking me for a prompt payment for an order I placed back on July 5th. What happened is that they were notified from Paypal that I filed 2 claims for 2 orders paid for and not received. So, somehow they are treating this like a new order. Get this, they gave me a new order # and told me to make sure to use this # at all times to help them stay organized. Hmmmmmmmm.... On October 28th, 2009, wagwag changed the rating from negative to positive and added the following:
After being disappointed with the extended time to receive my last order and the lack of communication I decided to to honor Gretchen's request to give them a second chance. I am VERY pleased that I ordered again. The communcation was excellent, the 13 Cajun hibiscus were excellent and the shipping was extremely fast. Also, even though the last order was late in arriving, the plants were very healthy. So I have always been pleased with their plants and now I am a believer in their business practices. I will be back to order again. Keep up the good practices and communication.

Recently ordered 3 Euphorbia"Thai Hybrid" and I'm thrilled with them.Price was right plants doing fantastic. Will be getting more soon.Only negative was my fault I didn't read the part about them being shipped bareroot.I think next time I do business with them I'm going to drive up and see what they offer in person:)

I took advantage of the 2 for 1 Euphorbia and Gretchen was nice enough to send me 1 red and 1 orange(WOOT!).She was even nice enough to jot down on the receipt which plant was which. In addition i grabbed a nice grafted desert rose. All 3 look great.Another homerun.
i've ordered from buried treasures a few times now and am very happy with their service and health of the plants and bulbs i've received. this last order was of cajun hibiscus, and the plants sent were well over a foot tall with many leaves! the fact that they traveled all the way across the usa and arrived smiling and healthy and fresh is a testament to this company's quick shipping and dedication to their customer's [and plant's] happiness! i will most certainly order from buried treasures again!

I ordered several bulbs and an orchid species from them. Everything was very profesional, and they included freebies! The bulbs looked big and healthy, and my orchid is already growing larger since it was potted. Nice people to deal with!

I have placed several orders with Buried Treasures and had awesome experiences everytime. Their communication is good and quick and I always appreciate a seller who is speedy with shipping. The packaging of the plants were good and they were in nice and healthy shape. Thanks Buried Treasures!
I had a good experience with Chris and Gretchen Moore of Buried Treasures. I ordered a large adenium and a small terrestrial orchid. (My needs did not include express shipping or expedited handling.)
Chris and Gretchen both worked with me to make sure my order was right and that I was happy with my plants.
I ended up with beautiful plants. They are getting acclimated as I write this. Once they are established, I have high hopes for them!
Based on this experience, I am happy to give Buried Treasures high marks.
I ordered the buy 1 get 1 Euphorias and they were really beautiful and bigger than I thought they would be. I paid by credit card and received them in a timely manner. I loved them and would order again from them.

This company seems to have some problems with their shipping procedures. For example: on one order I placed online, I received shipping confirmation AFTER I received my order! I consider that a minor problem however, and I'm giving them a positive rating because their plants have arrived healthy and in good shape, of nice size, and none of them have died except for the couple I killed! Their prices are quite competative as well and I will definitely not hesitate to order from them again, should they have something I want.
I've purchased twice from Buried Treasures and my experience is that it takes a little longer than you expect and the tracking option is frustrating and best ignored. I received emails thanking me for using my credit card (processing started) and when it shipped. The bottom line is you need to be a little patient, but I got what I ordered and all plants are thriving in my back yard so I would definetly use them again.
I ordered 125.00 worth of Desert Rose (Adenemun) (misspelled) in various sizes and color, when they arrived I was shocked as the package was in bad shape, I called and they helped me and I trimmed off the damaged and got them planted and all 6 of them are doing just great, sprouting new growth and even have a bud on them. Gretchen was very helpful to me and I would order from her again with no concerns. They also kept me well informed of the shipping date which was delayed due to weather, very nice people.

Recently ordered 2 Plumeria from Buried Treasure. Arrived about 2½ weeks after ordering. I imagine they had to be cut and healed over before shipping. Both were 12-18 " long and were planted immediately so rooting could begin. I would order from them again. Items were well packaged.
I ordered a 2 different Desert Roses from them recently.
Both came and were beautiful plants. I needed to communicate with them and they were very helpful and wonderful to deal with. I would highly recommend Buried Treasures.
A favorite plant(s) which lived on the windowsill above our kitchen sink got some sort of fungus and quickly died. We had acquired the plant on two occasions at Logee's Greenhouse in CT, adding one plant to the other, but we never knew its name. Logee's no longer carries it because they had difficulty getting them to flower. They remembered it was a Hippeastum. Well, that's a help. An Amaryllidaceae (Amaryllid). That's a huge family and none it seemed as dainty as the plant we loved and had lost.
Thank God for the Internet. After pages of plant pictures, I was able to identify it as a Cyrtanthus mackenii, also known as a Ifafa Lily from South Africa. The first vendors who listed it were sold out.
Then I came across Buried Treasures. $5 for three. I bought nine.
I had read that they don't bloom in their first year and that grass fires play a role in their native habitat. I didn't know what to expect. My order was confirmed. I was notified of my shipment and when to expect delivery. Totally professional.
Nine little bulbs arrived. No leaves but a number had a flower shoot. We planted them in two pots, watered them and set them on the window sill. The flower shoots withered, some of the bulbs looked dried and dead. Two had a tiny tip of green leaf. The days passed and we began to wonder. Then, after about two weeks, they all started to grow. At least two look as if they will flower before showing leaves.
We are quite satisfied, pleased and delighted. Thank you, Buried Treasures.
And, if you are reading this and don't know what an Ifafa Lily looks like, do yourself a favor and look up Cyrtanthus mackenii. It's a delightful little plant (about 12" tall) with graceful thin leaves. For us, in Vermont, it produces a flower stem which rises above the leaves bearing multiple little trumpets just when we need them. And now you too know where you can buy them: Buried Treasures.

I ordered ginger rhizomes from Buried Treasure and was very, very pleased with the quality of the materials I received. The rhizomes were healthier than products I had purchased from other suppliers and Buried Treasures prices were their real selling point. I was also surprised and pleased by how attentive Buried Treasure owners were. I received three emails regarding sale and shipping prior to receiving my purchases (which took less than a week) and received one email upon receipt of shipment making sure I was pleased with my purchase. I will certainly purchase from this company again. The only request I could ask of them would be to expand their selections!!!
I just ordered from BT for the first time and had a very positive experience. Communication (very important) was prompt and friendly. I would buy from them again.

Ordered 6 hibiscus Nov 29th, rec'd conf # and tracking # (which didn't work). Waited till Dec 16th to contact them as the hibs were part of a large BT sale, and I figured they had overextended supply. No returned call, so I D-mailed and asked that my order be canceled as I had not heard from them, figured they'd overextended, and would rather cancel order than leave negative feedback. Rec'd answer that indeed they had had not anticipated response to sale, but would send the order AND refund payment hopefully by Dec 19th, "although not making promise of that date." I waited till Dec 28th to remind that plants, ...or refund had not been sent. No response.
Today is Jan 2nd and I will contact credit card company as I have paid for plants in good faith. It's the lack of communication that irks me.

I finally received my hibiscus and they were well packed and healthy. I still truly believe Chris didn't anticipate the response he received from his Dec. sale. That said, I think most of us affected would have understood the delay had we just received an e-mail. As part of a previous co-op, I was pleased with healthy plants from Buried Treasure. Hopefully this was just a blip. I would order from this company again.
Placed an order on 12/3/08. Received an email with tracking information; however, the tracking information didnt work and didnt indicate the order was sent. Ive sent emails and called, and have received no communication or no plants. I had ordered 4 hibiscus, and when the email came back, it indicated that 3 of them were sold out, yet I was charged, and paid, for all 4 of them.

Received plants today. Vendor stated they had sent them Dec. 19, and indeed they had. Plants are very nice. I believe this would have been a non-issue had they only communicated the problems they were having. The delay was understandable as long as they explained that there was an issue.
