The selection is excellent, especially since I don't have a wide selection available in my local nurseries. I feel the prices are reasonable. Packing is excellent - all arrive in great condition - and the price for shipping is better than most mail order companies I order from. Every hosta that I ordered this year & in previous years are doing great in my garden.

I have been ordering from Direct Source Hostas for 3 years and have always been satisfied. One hosta did not make it over the winter the first year, and they replaced it free with a small, leftover plant of the same variety. This one survived and is now doing as well as all the others. Very good, reliable company.
I have placed 2 orders this year and have been very pleased with the size and the quality of the hostas that I have received. In the past I have ordered bare root plants from other companies and have not liked them. It is really nice to have a company that ships "potted" nice size plants. I plan to order again.. Thank you

There was a slight glitch in my order which I probably would not have noticed or questioned, but Jerry did and wrote to me about it. I called him directly; he knew who I was: why I was calling: and how he would like to fix the problem. I followed his suggestions and he rewarded me with extra plants - free!!!! Being able to give this company feedback excited me as I feel they deserve credit for all they have done since their beginning years. I went back to check their negatives and feel that since they were given in their infancy, I could understand a couple of problems. Obviously they have corrected problems and continue to improve their site on a regular basis. Since I'm really not a computer flash, I appreciate the simplicity of Direct Source's web site and have found it to be most helpful when I'm checking out what I want to add to several of my hosta gardens.
This year I ordered 10 new "kids" and when the order arrived on the 7th of May, I was excited to see what they looked like live. Beautiful as usual, healthy and packed as if they were one of a kind. They did run short of two in my order and as usual, a check was in the shippment and not a credit to order next time. I just had fun and picked out a couple more "kids" and they just arrived this week, looking just as healthy as the others.

This was my first order from DirectSourceHostas, but based on the positive comments here on Dave's Garden, I felt confident...and I have been very pleased!
I ordered 10 different hostas, and all arrived in excellent shape, having been packaged very carefully. All of the plants were just starting to leaf out when they arrived, and within a week 9 of the ten were full of lush green foliage.
I did have one that didn't seem to be performing very well, and unlike the others was still very small after three weeks in the ground. I sent a quick email to Jerry, and he had me a replacement plant on my doorstep within 4 days! The new one looks great just like the others!
Jerry's plants are healthy, have very good size, and he stands behind his product...All for a very reasonable price. You can't go wrong with DirectSourceHostas!
I love my beautiful hostas which arrived in perfect condition, but I most appreciate the unhurried and thorough advice I have gotten from Jerry - I am hooked and will continue to patronize this wonderful company.

I have recently found out I am a "hosta addict"...I have received two shipments of hostas from Direct Source in the last month to assuage this compulsion. Both shipments arrived beautifully packed and looked great...I can hardly wait to see how these babies fill out in their new home (and of course order more!). The hostas were shipped at the appropriate time for my region (something I'd had trouble with elsewhere), they were packaged very well and suffered no damage in shipping. I accidentally used the wrong paypal address to place this order, called and spoke to Jerry, he accidentally changed the billiing address but not the shipping - so the order went out to the wrong address after all. But Jerry really worked hard to get my plants to me - working with the shipper and redirecting the order and keeping me informed. They arrived in fine condition, with a guarantee from him that if any were damaged or stressed from the extended journey, he'd replace them. Highly recommended for great plants and great customer service! Thanks Jerry!
