They are frequently purchased as dormant "eyes" with a root mass, looking very tender and vulnerable at first. While they do need appropriate treatment, they grow quite quickly after planting. I've grown a fair number of cypripedium species in my Oregon garden. While I've purchased from a number of suppliers, the plants I received from Flora Exotica have been the healthiest I've ever gotten. Shipping was amazingly fast, they were well-packed, so I'm confident they will grow quickly into robust plants.

We do offer refunds for plants that are dead on arrival. For plants that die while being taken care of by customers, we can not be held responsible.

PayPal and credit card companies protect buyers who refuse merchandise within a reasonable period of time. If the customer accept the merchandise (like seeds and plants), then request a refund, they will not be able to help.

We regret that your first try on the Chocolate plant did not work out. We hope that you understand the high cost of getting these plants from the other side of the globe to make them available to customers who like to experience with new species.

I understand your frustration when plants die after all the efforts and time spent on caring for it. This happens to us sometimes, and we do not go back to our suppliers to ask for refunds. We appreciate their work to make these rare plants available to us.

It is possible to kill plants without doing any thing wrong. Plants are living things and they respond to a set of conditions required for them to grow. Many of us do not have the conditions required for certain plants.

May I suggest, in the future, that you return plants that are almost dead so that sellers will be able to nurse them back to health and sell them to other customers. That way, the sellers will be able to have money to refund you."

I ordered four bodhi tree (Ficus religiosa) plants on June 14 and they arrived June 26. I was concerned in the interum because we had unusually hot weather in the eastern states. But the plants arrived in excellant condition with the pots well wrapped so that the potting medium was still moist. The plants were 10 inches tall but suffered no damage in transit.
They have grown vigorously since and will make fine gifts for my buddhist friends.

I swear, Perry could charge tickets to go see his place (plus, I'm a big plane fan and he's right in the major flightpath of Dorval airport!) so trust me on this one. The plant you get from Flora Exotica is going to be a plant you're going to love for a long time to come.

What's best is, no one paid me to say that!

After 1 week of having my medium plant, I already have flowers developing. This plant is in amazing, and is healthy as can be.

I look to purchase more plants from Perry in the future. I suggest others doing the same, have a little patience. The condition of these plants compared to pictures I saw online of other orders made it all the worth the while.

I will not use this company again.

I looked high and low for both local and online nurseries which sold and understood how to maintain a "Bodhi" tree (Ficus Religiosa) and would provide healthy specimens for both tall, indoor trees and for making bonsai. I was ready to call it impossible when I found Perry at Flora Exotica. Not only did they have specimens in both sizes, but Perry was patient giving me a lot of his time while educating me as this ficus is not the easiest of which to make bonsai, but do grow indoors (as I have found recently) quite well. They shipped me extremely healthy and generous sized large specimens (which are thriving in my shrine room; I am Buddhist if you had not guessed ) and some very promising small ones to work to make bonsai from as this strain is easier to raise from smaler specimens to work on bonsai so that the leaves do not get too big first. I cannot say enough nice things about how great was it to work with Perry!

As well, my next venture may be to attempt to make a lotus plant indoors (can be done!) and they do have specimens but I was discouraged from buying the finished product (which was a better revenue generator for them) as I was told that if I worked with my own tubers and did it myself I was more likely to be successful.

I would not hesitate to buy anything from Flora Exotica again!

I purchased some seeds on 6/13/08 and paid by Paypal. The order went thru but I didnt hear from him via email or phone so I called a few days later and confirmed the order with Perry. About 24 days went by and I still did not get my order. I called him and he said he had not shipped my order because he had to dry some of the seeds. That seemed to be a long time to dry seeds but I was okay with it. He then told me he would ship out my order that week or the next week even though it was ready now. Well, it is now 07/23/08, 40 days since my order and still no seeds. I emailed him a few days ago asking for some information. He did not email or phone me back. The funny thing is that I even told him I was ordering thru him because he had a decent rating on Dave's Garden. This guy doesnt seem to be malicious. I think he is just very apathetic. I will probably get my seeds some day but I wont order from him again.

I wanted another brand of lemon tree but couldn't convince the folks at my local greenhouse to order it in for me. Perry shipped the trees out on Monday and I got them in the mail on Friday. I couldn't believe how healthy and green the trees were with several fruits and blossoms to boot. And the packaging was superb. I'm planning on ordering a Washington or Robertson navel orange tree from him sometime before fall.
