After recieving a phone call that one of the plants I had ordered was sold out for this season, I received the order withing two days. While I was grateful for the quick turnaround, I was VERY dissapointed in the quality of the plants. Most of the plants were very small and pale, as if they had been out of the ground for a while. Of the 7 plants I ordered, 4 died within 2 weeks of planting, from what I deduced was crown rot (I have several hundred cultivars, and this was the first time I had experienced this problem, so I do not believe that they were planted incorrectly). I sent several emails to the Shooters, and did not get one response. I was unable to find a "satisfaction guarantee" on their website or in their catalog, and obviously they were not concerned about my repeat business. They have a great selection, and usually the best prices around, but VERY POOR customer service. I will not purchase from them again unless I cannot find a plant I want elsewhere. Practically as soon as I posted my previous rating, Mr. Shooter called and offered to replace all plants that were dead. He said that the best way to contact them if you have an issue that you would like to have resolved is by phone. He suggested ordering earlier in the growing season (my order was placed in August), less heat stress on the plants. He also stressed that the plants are dug at the time the order is placed, they are not pre-dug and stored. Based on this phone conversation, I will now be more apt to try another order. |
