Just to follow up- ALL my Thujas have grown and done well. The Salix which I wasn't sure was going to make it- has survived and grown rather well. I ordered 1 gallon Thujas from another company- and while they were in great shape and much cheaper- they were significantly smaller than the ones that you get at Great Garden Plants. If you're looking for true jumbo 1 gallon Thujas, I would say Great Garden Plants are a good choice for a larger start.

Ordered more plants for fall planting. Usual issue....plants arrived and they were big and beautiful.
Then noticed one was missing. Wrote company and was told it would be shipped soon. Never had they mentioned any back order or delay. Finally 2 weeks later plant unexpectedly arrived. I cannot help but wonder if I had not contacted them if they ever would have sent the missing plant.
I will not be ordering from this company again. If you do not mind all this delivery confusion and lack of notification then their plants are large and hearty. I mind so that is it for me !

This company seems to have come a long way in getting their act together.Shipped in a timely fashion and well packaged. I have placed several orders recently and the plants they send are far superior to the 7 different companies I ordered from this year . Great Gardens sends beautiful large healthy plants and not the little tiny seedlings as most online orders supply.
Mary and her employees are always pleasant and helpful.

Wow, this company has made an amazing turn around! Great new packing method, everything is very secure and no dirt missing, plants were mainly dry. Which is good, no root rot. I love my Shasta Daisy's, these are nice plants that are a good size and I love my bonus plant. Secure website, user friendly and they take paypal. I really do think I will be ordering again!

I felt odd complaining. Mary of Great Garden Plants was very considerate and sent a duplicate order, even though the hosta from the first order was adequate.
The replacement order was what I had hoped the plants would be like. There wasn't one that I would not have picked for myself if I were choosing.
I promised to buy more from GGP in the futuer to make up for the problem order.

I am sold. I received my order of three different varieties of Echinacea. Two were absolutely perfect and one looked really sad - missing leaves, and most of the ones that it did have were yellow. I decided to try planting it anyway since the root system looked healthy, and I figured I would contact them if it didn't do well. Well, within 2-3 days it perked right up and now a week later has grown some new leaves, and even has a couple of buds. And, they do come in soil and in pots, and are very well packaged. PLUS, they sent a free daylily - one of the healthiest I have ever received through the mail. Again, within days of planting it, it has grown a good 3 inches. I placed another order with GGP, and received the order this week. The plants are even bigger than the first order, and in really good condition. The only complaint I have with this company is there billing practices, as the web site says they do not charge your order until it is shipped, which is not exactly correct. Twice the charge showed up before shipping, and when inquired, they indicated the bank sometimes places a hold on the money, but it does not actually post until the order is shipped. I did find this to be true, frustrating none the less. Unlike some other customers, I have received responses to all my email inquiries. One of the original coneflowers did not make it, and they are shipping another one to me at no charge. I am till impressed with the size and quality of their plants.
