We've begun assembling the coop and are very impressed with the quality of the materials and the cleverness of the design. The coop will fit beautifully under our second floor elevated sunroom. Our next challenge is to incorporate a small pond for the ducks!
Thank you for your prompt and courteous responses to my emails. I would definitely recommend your products to animal lovers who want to have attractive and well-built housing for their feathered friends. My chihuahuas are eying it up, too but I think they will be observers and visitors not inhabitants!
I ordered baby chicks for the first time with My Pet Chicken, I always just bought them from our near by feed store, and was I surprised when I picked them up at our post office. They were very clean. healthy, beautiful baby chicks. I've had them for two days now and the are doing wonderful. I will definitly order from MPC from now on.

I received my four chicks right on time. After all of the very useful information provided by mypetchicken.com, we were well prepared. The chicks were in perfect condition, with four nice fluffy butts (no pasty butt), very energetic, and immediately took to their new home. I'm so grateful to have had such a positive experience my first time buying chicks online. I will definitely do it again!

In June we ordered 8 chicks of 4 different breeds, to be delivered in August. The chicks arrived exactly how and when promised, and all healthy and beautiful - the postmistress even commented that she hadn't seen such a good-looking group, and they get a lot of chick shipments in our zip area. They are doing great! We love MyPetChicken and will order from them again.

This is the second time I've ordered hatchery chicks, and my first order from My Pet Chicken. It was a bit of an impulse buy, as the company was offering a half-price, no shipping charge deal on 25 large breed female chicks with a minimum of 5 different breeds to come. How could I not jump on that?
The website is easy to navigate, and has a lot of information. I picked August 1st as my delivery week, and the chicks arrived on the 3rd, all active, healthy and alert. I even received one extra chick, which not all companies will do.
I got a nice assortment, although the yellow ones are unidentifiable at this age - they could be several different breeds. I did receive 4 Dominiques for sure, which pleases me greatly. That is a less-common breed and one I really like. I might have gotten some Welsummers too, but I'm not positive - this is a fun way to get new chickens.
I've had them for 3 days now, and they are thriving. I'm very pleased with their health. If I ever need to get mail-order chicks again, My Pet Chicken will be at the top of the list.
I ordered my three little peepers to have some backyard layers. They are doing great! They all started eating and drinking right after I showed them their food and water. My Pet Chicken has provided lots of information to make sure I know how to care for the little chicks. I'm looking forward to their delicious eggs in a few months, and I'll enjoy their company while I work in the garden.
We ordered six hatching eggs, seven arrived in perfect condition with excellent instructions, and under our broody hen, six of the seven hatched! We were surprised and delighted, since the hatch rate is predicted to be only about 50%. All six are now healthy happy three-week-old chicks (five girls and a boy!) and our hen is thankfully running around outside again, taking care of them. We're looking forward to our next round of hatching, next spring! And will definitely get our eggs from My Pet Chicken.

Our first order from MyPetChicken was for a chicken coop plan. We needed to build a release cage for a rescue squirrel and decided that it should be usable after the 2 weeks. We spent a couple weeks investigating plans and the coop plans at MPC were the best. The instructions were easy to follow and the squirrel loved it for the week she spent in it. She is free roaming in the back yard for 2 months now.
We got our 6 EE chicks a little over a week ago from MPC. All arrived safe and caused quite the stir in my office. I anticipate several of them will be ordering from MPC soon, including the mail carrier. One chick wasn't interested in eating or even being fed and water with an eye dropper. so died 5 days after we got her. Sad, but the other 5 are thriving and growing like weeds!
The staff have been very responsive, extremely helpful, and truly interested in ensuring we were satisfied with our purchases. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend mypetchicken.com to anyone.
My email to the staff at MyPetChicken.com :
"Our shipment of polish day old ( females ) arrived bright and early this morning and I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your outstanding service and attention to care. I have ordered fom other hatcheries and had come to expect certain things of day old chicks, none of which did I encounter as I opened the shipping box that arrived from your company! The chicks were clean, warm, bright and perky. They immediately accepted the water but didn't act parched. They took to the brooder exploring and peeping. Their feathers were tight and clean and they didn't act weak or fall out in front of the heat lamp. I am more pleased than I can express and as I told my husband,
' Ya'll have my business! '
Sincere thanks !
I ordered 15 peeps in March for a delivery date the week of June 6th. They arrived June 7th. The local post office called as soon as they came in. I picked them up within 15 min. of the call. I immediately took them home to put them under a heat lamp. I first showed them the water and when they were all drinking they were shown their food. I kept them confined to a small space and constantly monitered the temperature. The first 3 days I checked on them every 2 hours even in the middle of the night..I set my alarm to get up. It is June 13th now and all the peeps are doing very well. I have doubled their space to roam around now and check on them every 3 to 4 hours to regulate heat, I will lower it each week, which I will do up til they are about a month old. I live in PA and the temps can drop to 56 degrees at night.. on those nights a second heat lamp is turned on to keep a consistant temp for the peeps. They are all very healthy and very active. This is my 3rd order of peeps from "My Pet Chicken" and the past orders were all very healthy peeps also. I have been raising chickens and geese for over 6 years now. I have 20 adult hens of which 10 came from orders from "My Pet Chicken". I like the fact that I can order as few as 5 peeps at a time. I had to pay for special heat packing to ship just 5 but it was well worth it to get the special breeds that I wanted. All of the past orders of peeps have grown into beautiful adult birds and I'm sure this order will too!!! I am very pleased with my dealings with "My Pet Chicken". Wonderful website with lots of information on chicks. Thanks.
This is the second year that I have bought chicks from MPC, both times have been great experiences. Their customer support is timely and helpful. The chicks have all arrived in good health. Last years batch were all pullets which is exactly what I wanted. I would definitely recommend MY PET CHICKEN.
I ordered my 6 banty chicks a few months ago and immediately got a confirmation and instructions on how to care for them. (I paid extra to have them sexed so we won't know for a few months how successful that went, but NO ONE ELSE sexes banty's!) They hatched on May 8 or 9 and I received them on the 10th in the morning. They seem happy and healthy so far...I was concerend about one really tiny one that seemed a little slower then the others, and when I contacted MPC about her they gave me some tips...one was to give them a little protein. I boiled some eggs, gave them a bit last night, and this morning when I put some egg in the little one grabbed a piece and ran with it! So she is already getting a little spunkier. All in all service has been great...I have emailed them at least 3 or 4 times and they always get back to me within a day. I love my pet chickens!
This is my first time to order live chicks from anywhere and the experience with My Pet Chicken is very positive. The hatching day was May 2nd and I got my 6 Red Star chicks the very next day. Six chicks are the minimum number to be shipped all the way to Hawaii. The ladies arrived in very good condition and are very active. They started eating, drinking and playing right away and are having chick naps frequently. They even learnt to drink from the watering nipple in 5 mins. The only drawback for me was State of Hawaii's agricultural regulations which add 3 to 4 week lead time to obtain Poultry and Bird Import Permit which all was handled and taken care of by My Pet Chicken. Would recommend!

MPC claim they sent two email instructions of care before chicks arrived. No proof offered. No bill of lading nor care instructions with early March 2011 shipment out of Ohio. Within the 48-hour guarantee I emailed MPC that 4 chicks were dead and one dying. Their response was feeding instructions. By the next day 17 chicks were dead. I sent them another email. MPC response was I wasn't keeping them warm enough. (Of course they didn't get cold coming out of Ohio.) Next response from a third person was that I should have been more responsible when adopting pets and out of the thousands of customers they only have one or two dead-chicks complaints a year. These chicks were never bought to be pets. MPC graciously refunded $13 for the original 4-5 dead chicks.

I've placed orders with My Pet Chicken and their chicks are wonderful..they really are..very friendly and no DOA's - EVER! My only issue with them is their change fee policy. They charge $10 for any changes you make to your order - that in itself is not the problem..but they fail to let customers know that they regard a change, anything that they are able to do on their side..so let's say you want to add a chick or two to your order and the chicks are available - that's the point they consider the change successful...it doesn't matter if something on the customer side prevents them from completing the change such as a declined credit card..the $10 change fee is still applicable...this happened to us...as a consumer, I was always under the impression that a change is complete when the payment is successful...but not so with My Pet Chicken...as long as they can do the change you are requesting, this to them is a successful change and you are responsible for this charge..I feel they should make this clear on their website...

This is a great company for backyard poultry people. We ordered 26 chicks, of 5 different types. They had all but 1 variety available, so they shipped what they had, then shipped the missing variety (plus an extra chick) the following week for free. All of them were healthy, and all have survived. I love the variety that they offer.

My Pet Chicken allows small hobby farmers (like me) to order as few as three chicks at a time. This past fall I ordered 4 hens-- a Rhode Island Red, a New Hampshire Red, an Australorp and an Easter Egger. The chicks arrived safe and sound, and are now strapping, happy pullets.
Customer Service is excellent, and shipping is prompt. I had a great experience with this company.
