I was very happy to have found a local worm farm right here in the bay area. Based on the positive reviews here I was expecting to have a nothing but positive experience. Well, not quite. I was surprised by the tracking information that the worms were shipped out of GA. I emailed Jerry to politely inquire about it. For one thing, I wanted to make sure the tracking # was correct, and secondly I was concerned that it's a long way for the worms to travel in a hot box. Jerry replied that my concern was 'irrelevant' because he does this every week. I was quite miffed by the response. The worms did arrive, a day later than promised and with a few dead ones. Overall they seemed fine. The packaging was good I thought. I can't bring myself to give either positive or negative rating, so neutral it is.
On June 12th, 2014, BrisbaneAnne changed the rating from neutral to negative and added the following:
After I posted my neutral rating on DG, I got the following email from Jerry. I placed the order and never ask for any favor to change shipping date.
I think his email speaks for itself.
Let me get this straight…
I did you a favor by having your worms shipped on Friday instead of Monday (Juggling orders to do so).
Your shipment arrived packed well, and perfectly fine.
USPS priority shipping tries for 2-3 days anywhere in the country, but is not considered late until after 7 days.
You assumed (Not sure what your assumption was based on), that I would be shipping from San Jose
Although nowhere does it say where the worms would be shipped from.
A shipment from San Jose would have been in extreme heat. The path your worms took meant no extreme heat.
