Up for sale are 100 seeds (per packet) of an heirloom pea variety "Blue Podded Shelling".  Also known as "Blauwschokkers", this soup pea has been eaten as a winter staple in many European countries for centuries.  Peas can be harvested as a green shelling pea to use fresh in salads, etc, or can be left on the vine to dry and harvest as a dry soup pea.  If left to dry on the vine, be diligent about harvesting.  Pods will eventually shatter to disperse their seeds.  To use when dry, soak the peas overnight and cook as you would any other dry bean.  Plants grow vigorously to 5-6' and produce beautiful two-toned purple/lavender flowers.  You could even use this as a unique ornamental.  Pods start out green, but turn a deep purple.  These seeds are from a productive Dutch strain of the variety.  Matures to a dry pea in 80-85 days.

Paypal is my preferred method of payment as it is free.  A personal check is also okay for small orders, but I will wait to ship until I have payment in hand.  Shipping is $1.50 per packet.  This covers the actual cost of postage for first class mail as well as the packaging of the seeds (padded envelope).  If you order more than one packet, just add and additional $0.25 per packet to cover the additional postage.  This goes for any other varieties I have posted.
