Hydrangea arborscens, SMOOTH HYDRANGEA, 'Annabelle', 4,5,6,7,8, Cut

Mature height - 4'x4', Growth - Med., Light - S-Psh, Soil - Med., Origin - Eastern US

Flower Color - white, Flower Time - July, Aug, Sept,

Large white mop head flowers every year. The size of blooms has meant some have adopted the use of peony cages to support plant. Put in food coloring to add some color as a cut flower. As it blooms on new as well as old wood you can cut it down with a lawn mower in the fall and still have blooms next year.

Hydrangea paniculata, PG  HYDRANGEA, 'Grandiflora', 4,5,6,7,8, Cut

Probably best trained into a tree where the large flower heads will turn its branches into a weeper. As the white blooms age they fade to a pretty pink. Blooms are tight like an ice  cream cone and very popular for drying. Easy care, blooms on new wood.

Hydrangea paniculata, PG HYDRANGEA, 'Kyushu', 4,5,6,7,8, Cut

Flower Color - white-pink, Flower Time - Aug, Sept, Oct,

Taking over from 'Tardiva' as a better later blooming PG Hydrangea, that has shiny green foliage. Easy care, blooms on new wood.

Enormous open, white  conical blooms in late June, slightly earlier than 'Grandiflora', that fade to pink. Quite breathtaking in moonlight, or cooling in in the summers heat. Either grow as a shrub or prune to a 'standard' as recommended for the species. Easy care, blooms on new wood.

OAK LEAF HYDRANGEAS epitomize the quest for a shrub that looks good, 12 months of the year, there's always something to admire, must have plant in any garden.
