Adenandra uniflora “China Flower”
Glistening porcelain-like flowers over a long season make this rare aromatic South African shrub a collectors “must try.” To only 2’ tall & 3’ across, “China Flower” forms a densely branched compact evergreen shrub with small tightly held shiny green oval shaped leaves which release a distinctive anise-seed scent when touched. Opening from red buds in mid-Winter to Spring, the 1” single white flowers sport red veins above slender reddish branches creating an irresistible show. Valued as a rock garden, patio, or container subject, it can also be bonsaied! Native to the Fynbos area, it well appreciates an acid soil, so add leaf mold or peat to a well-drained mixture for best results.
