ALOCASIA CRASSIFOLIA
Alocasia Crassifolia is a highly desirable
large, green terrestrial elephant ear.
The
leathery, deep green leaves are paler on the lower surface. They
are distinctive not only for their size and shape but also
because of their prominent veins. The midrib and numerous
primary lateral veins are distinctively raised and this pattern
is accented by a massive network of recessed veinlets between
the primary veins which result in a somewhat blue effect. The
pattern is clearly visible because the plant holds its leaves
erect. The leaf can reach a 12 wide and 30 long size. The
margins of the leaf are very slightly undulated and revolute.

zones spreading out from the midrib toward the edges. The
remaining area of the upper surface is ash blue.

ALOCASIA
TRIANGULARIS
Alocasia
triangularis is a strong heat-tolerant plant with quite a
different look. Its leaves are triangle shaped with tightly
ruffled edges. It is best to plant among smaller plants to show
off the unusual form and texture of the leaves. As the bulbs
age, the plant will grow stronger and taller.
It is very easy to
grow. If it is kept in container it is easy to separate the
bulbs for a multitude of plants for the next season. If it is
planted in the ground without lifting the bulbs, the clump will
be stronger and taller next year.
