George Davidson Crocosmia

Named for the British-born scientist who bred his blooms for hardiness, this brilliant yellow Crocosmia is widely renowned.

 

This dwarf grows to only about 16 in. G eorge Davidson is probably the best for blossom count among other yellow Crocosmias. It is among the first of the Crocosmia to bloom in mid to late summer.

 

Golden yellow to warm orange blooms nod over slender, wand like scapes. Flowers rise above sword shaped, deep green foliage.

 

This stately, clump forming perennial is closely related to the gladiola and resembles its upright form.

 

George Davidson's plentiful blooms make a great cut flower. Commonly used in commercial arrangements, unusual and showy element of design both inside and out.

 

An elegant combination is made when the George Davidson Crocosmia meets the Patriot Hosta with its crisp white leaf border.
