Dave's Garden

This is the first Hosta I have ever planted.  Shade gardens has never been my thing.  After two years of rebelling and trimming my large Live Oak, I surrendered and planted some shade plants.  I was pleasantly surprised by a beautiful, white flower.  If I hadn't planted this one Hosta in a part sun area, I would have never known it makes such a beautiful flower spike.  The other Hostas are in full shade and have never flowered.  Mixing it up a little, ignoring the plant tag, and testing multiple locations for the same type of plants proves some of my rebellion was worthwhile.  A part shade plant (1 to 3 hours of sun) in the morning sun of zone 9b turned out beautifully!  Growing well next to it are plants that take part sun to full sun.  They are all doing well.  (See other photo)
