What's blooming now?
Azaleas are gone, as are camellias. Phlox are in full bloom, and mock orange are flowering, depending on where the individual bush is....full sun are in full flower. Japanese maple are leafing out....today the one outside the great room door is pretty....rich red leaves. Many of the impatiens volunteers are coming up. the miniature roses are in full bloom. Caterpillars!!!! They have been out for a week, pooping on my head. Grr. The shrimp plants that didn't get a hard trim in fall have blooms. Need to remember that next fall. Winter annuals: snap dragons are still strong, though getting to the tops of the spikes. Pansies still okay, along with petunias they are starting to show some heat stress.
The native holly trees are in bloom. Nice. The native cherry trees are over blooming. The little red flowers from bulbs....need to identity....are still looking great. They've been blooming for several weeks.
Amaryllis are in bloom , just starting now. Oh, and the nun orchids have fat buds!
