We had an inspection and he was very thorough. He would have had to do what we did and take down a temporary wall to see it. Neighbor told us seller knew about it and fought it all the time. We are on gentle slope and water as you know runs down hill. Seller was obligated to inform us and hid it instead. There were dehumidifiers in the basement but not running when we were here. Inspector said it looked like problem had been handled as there was no water then. Seller put up paneling over plastic over damp rotted, moldy paneling, to hide it. And yes we do have to fix it as Brody has extreme allergies and asthma. When we were looking, we walked away from a couple places because of mold smell. That\'s another thing he had covered up the smell.
