Sweet Annie, Sweet Sagewort, Annual Wormwood, Huang Hua Hao
Artemisia annua

6 foot tall, nice shape. I left this one growing from a spring weeding session.

I was just over on another gardening site and a woman there was telling that this is her third year growing Sweet Annie Artemesia as a companion to all the cucurbits in her garden. She says until she started this little trick she was inundated with bugs, cucumber beetles and such. Not a one to be seen with Sweet Annie in the area. I thought I should share it somewhere over here just in case there are others not aware of this use. I'm an old gardener and it's the first time I've heard it despite the fact that I used to give gardening talks on companion planting. I hope it's of use to someone besides me.
