Pine Island Nursery is a great place. I've gotten several of my exotic fruit trees there, and they have an excellent reputation.

They've got over 30 acres of stock, and it's all very healthy.

If I could only trick my wife on going vacation there. HA!

Jujube, I did something similar....I convinced my husband that he wanted to go to a conference nearby. And then I toId him that I was just going to pop down there so I wouldn't be too bored....I don't think he believed me, because: a) He knows me and b) I insisted on renting a large pickup truck.

Fortunately, he's tolerant of my small problem.

I just drove down the road to two different bunches that are blooming tonight, with my trusty soft paintbrush for gathering pollen. We'll see if they make fruits!

The one in my yard had one fruit a while back, tasted like crunchy water!

HA! I ran out of room for plants at the house and convinced my wife to buy 11 acres and then planted 3 acres the first year during the worst drought in Texas history. I am incurable. The good thing is if you ever ran out of different plants, you can cross-pollinate and make new ones.
Yay for nature.

Chinese proverb:

If you want to be happy for one night,
get drunk
If you want to be happy for one month,
get married
If you want to be happy your whole life,
grow a garden
