This photo is more true to color, it is orangy red if that makes any sense!

is it actually 2 colored? with a orange shading to a red? or is it just the way the moniter shows it? very nice, either way!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

I have a few in bloom now including Exotica, Green Dragon, Desire, Neon Rose ???, and Belladona( A Hippeastrum cultivar not to be confused with Amaryllis Belladonna the species)

No, it is a dark reddish-orange but it is hard to get a correct color in a photo!

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

I just have a few more bulbs that haven't bloomed. Samba from White Flower Farms. This Samba looks identical to my photos of Prelude. So either its a substitution or Samba and Prelude are the same cultivar sold under 2 different names.

Aphrodite from White Flower Farms. This photo was taken when it first opened. I noticed that the pink deepens as it ages.

Aphrodite is lovely. That's one I don't have yet. Right now I have La Paz, Appleblossom and one I think is Flaming Peacock blooming at work.

Another new one, I am a little disappointed in this one did not think it was a minature. Maybe it will do better next time!!!
Pasadena

Rene,

I have never thought of Pasadena as a miniature. The blooms are not as large as some of the other doubles, but they are normal in size for a hybrid. Pasadena blooms vary somewhat from year to year, but they do bloom consistently nearly every year for me. With some care, you can count on them being exceptionally pretty next year. Pasadena is one of my favorites...

Thanks Ann our severe winter also might have had something to do with it! They are so slow this year!

Lorine,

Our winter started out milder than usual, but January hit hard with an unusual low of 17 degrees and February through early March was not nice at all. I won't know how many subtropicals I lost for another month or so. They can all be replaced, but it will take awhile before they are as plentiful as before.

As I watched the weather, I noted that you have had it worse because many tropicals are not at all tolerant of the frost/freezes that you experienced this year.

Your Pasadena bulbs do appear to be stunted somewhat. There is no doubt in my mind that they will be much prettier next year.
