This is a peony....right?

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7a)

I'm fairly certain this is a peony....please correct me if it's not. It smells like a delicately fragranced rose. So pretty, I'll have to read up on these to see if I manage to grow one.

Indeed it is a very pretty peony. I can almost smell it from here ;)

Stamford, CT(Zone 6b)

Seems to look a lot like my peony (cactus type petals).

It could use a friend or two. Once peonies take hold and start to fill with blooms, there is nothing prettier. Unfortunately, it is not usually for more than 2 weeks, so enjoy while you can. Herbaceous double peonies can become pretty heavy, especially if it rains. And it always rains on peony blooms, you can count on it. So, try to give it a little support, at least the stem with the flower.
