Mutant dahlia bloom!

I just noticed this nutter of a bloom today... so weird!

Wish I could tell ya how to get one! I never knew doubles could happen, much less triples. This is only my second summer growing dahlias.

It's wonderful! It didn't turn out to be a contorted mess and looks like dahlia triplets.

That's what I thought would happen, Pirl- the contorted mess, that is. I'm very pleasantly surprised!

Nature never ceases to amaze me. :)

It looks more like a work of art to me.

Nature is grand, especially the first bite of a sun ripened tomato on a hot day.

Well, we had some rainy days, and my triplets became quite bedraggled and are all shriveled up and faded now. I didn't take any more photos, I figure they deserve to die with dignity. hehe.
