Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks Josephine....we did need a second one.

Prosper, TX(Zone 8a)

Are there any other go getters for some awesome varieties of chili seeds for trade? I have a whole lot of seeds to still trade away or offer to someone that want's to try.

Be not afraid to ask and see what ye shall receive.

Arlington, TX

Would you trade some flower seeds for pepper seeds?

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I found some Genovese Basil seedlings this morning and potted them up! I've added them to my trades.

North Richland Hills, TX

Josephine, Pbtxlady & Banana18:

I'm been planning to bring you all bunny poo. I have quite a bit that I've been rotting down for a couple of months and it looks really good! BUT most of it does have bedding (newspaper) and hay (Timothy) mixed in - with my set up it's actually hard to keep it out. Do any of you have an objection to these materials being in your "gift packages"? If so please let me know so that I can arrange to bring you something else - I'm thinking chicken manure (I don't have a lot right now that isn't mixed into their litter) or coffee grounds.

Thanks,

Kate

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

No objections on my part Kate.

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

No problem for me, Kate.

Perko, if you have extra seeds, I'll give some a try. Please look at my list and see if I have anything you can use.

Plano, TX

perko if you bring extra seeds i will love to try some and i will have plants to trade-some not on my list

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Perko, do you still have any of the Sweet Napoleon and the Mammoth Grey Stripe seeds left? If so, I'd like some.

Prosper, TX(Zone 8a)

newtonsthirdlaw-yes I'll trade Chili seeds for flower seeds.

pbtxlady-everything you see in my trade list is extra so you just go and pick out what you want. I will let you know if I see anything in your list OK?

planolinda-That sounds like a deal to me! I will have nearly everything on my list at the RU.

stephanietx-I do and am pulling some off to the side for ya. Napolean sweet and mammoth grey stripe are yours!

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Perko, if that's the case, then could I please ask for two types? I would love to have chili piquin and black pearl. I probably don't need that many seeds of either one, so I'd be glad to share if you're running low on any of them.

I do hope you find something on my list that you can use. I will probably have some extra things as well, but I don't know what yet.

Prosper, TX(Zone 8a)

pbtxlady - you most definitely can! Are so sure you only want to try 2? Pequin Chili seeds and Black Pearl are yours. Please don't feel like you need to trade me something to get Chili seeds. I will look but even if I do not feel I can use anything at this moment any seeds you ask for are yours regardless.

Prosper, TX(Zone 8a)

pbtxlady You do have a couple things I would love to have! A Hairy Toad Lily if still available and one Eastern Purple Coneflower. If the Hyssop was Hyssopus officinalis then I would of asked for it instead of the Toad lily but I like the Toad too!

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, thank you very much! I actually would like some that are edible, too, but I don't know anything about the others you listed. Well, except the habanero; I know that one! Could you choose one that is similarly spicy to jalapenos?

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Perko, I'll put you down. The toads I am digging are the blue ones--is that okay? They get bigger and are more vigorous. My species plants (the ones that look like little orchids) really suffered from the heat this year and look pretty awful. As for the cones, I have plenty of those, and even more seeds, if you'd like some to scatter.

Sorry that the hyssop is not the herbal kind!

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

msgrubbyfungus, the rabbit mix is fine!

Prosper, TX(Zone 8a)

Actually both varieties you first picked are more than edible. Pequins are small but mighty in taste and Black Pearls are nice and hot too! I know most 'nursery's' sell black pearl as an "ornamental only" but trust me, they are just as edible as jalapeno.

I'll pick one out for you that is more stable in spice than jalapenos and good for drying as well.

I like blue toads. I really like blue better than purple on most flowers so yes that is okay!

Prosper, TX(Zone 8a)

Coneflower seeds to scatter would be awesome and faster than waiting for them to spread around the tree.

Plano, TX

oh i thought someone was bringing toads and i was pretty excited!! had to go back a reread it--

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL!! Linda!

Wichita Falls, TX

This is funny -- anybody really want toads? My dad would love to get rid of a few. Just tell me how to pack them. I'll send the kids hunting. That is if my dad still wants to get rid of them, last spring he was not too happy with his "toad farm".

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

Linda, we have a big white one that comes in the barn at work. If I can catch him I'll bring him for ya. He's about the size of a softball.

Plano, TX

i have wanted toads for a while--i have a nice big wild yard and the box turtles love it but the 2 times i brought toads in i never saw them again
yes--i would love toads-----------but---------i don't want to make them miserable--do they do ok if relocated? if so then yes (so ask them first ok?------------ha ha)

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

I'll take all the toads you can bring. More toads, less insects.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Linda....that is how I got my start, I brought them from my sister's house. They seemed to dissappear at first but then the next year I had several and each year more. Gets so loud some years that we relocate to the pond nearby.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Let me know if I have left something off the list. Thanks! See you Sunday!

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

This must be my lucky day! I usually don't post when I am at work but happen to see your lovely list Pat. So glad you are able to make it. But where is your WANT list?
If I could trade one of the DL and either CanCan Dancer or Mastery for something on my list? I also have some DL not listed that I could check on if they are ready to divide.
Anna

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Anna, I just have not had a moment to put together a wish list, but there are always plants on your list that I "need." If you still have enough, how about strawberry geranium, Mrs. H. Duelberg salvia, and Becky shasta daisy? Let me know which of the irises and daylilies you prefer. I'll be adding more to the list too as quickly as I can work my way though the dividing.

Plano, TX

patrob--i would love to add to my iris grouping--i only have purple so any other color would be wonderful--i do have a list but will have more than posted--still trying to figure it all out--

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Pat, I can bring you all of those. So hard to decide on the DL! How about the black eyed beauty Jane Trimmer?

Prosper, TX(Zone 8a)

Pat I would love to have one of the aloe arborescens (torch aloe)
If there is something from my list you want please let me know.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you, Anna. I have put your name on the ones you selected.

Linda, if you still have them and they are rooted cuttings or divisions, I'd love to have a purple and a green sweet potato vine and a start of both grasses, pink muhly and dwarf fountain. Let me know which irises you would like. I will be adding to the list as I dig and divide over the next few days.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Pat, can I have one of the liatris mucronata?

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Perko, I will put your name on an aloe arborescens. I'd love to have a few seeds of your Nardello and Napoleon sweet peppers. At one time we would have eagerly planted the hot ones, but we have had to back off from too much heat.

Stephanie, I'll put your name on a pot of liatris. It's blooming now and very pretty.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Stephanie, if you still have enough, I'd like to have a
pink Katie's ruellia
rock rose
pink skullcap

Plano, TX

patrob--yes that will work-i loved the pictures of the first 3 you listed but i also would like to have your advice on which is your favorite-

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Linda, that's like asking a mother which child she loves best! I've had 'Can Can Dancer' longer than the other two you mentioned, and it's a strong grower that will make a nice clump in just a couple of years. I just got 'Augustine' from the PNW iris co-op that I ran for irisloverdee, and Denise sent me an extra rhizome. 'Jungle Princess' has been growing in a pot and has not really had a chance to show me what she can do, but I do love the color combination.

You can have more than one, of course, if you have room. I know my list is short right now, but I wanted to get it posted as soon as possible and I'm adding plants as I pot them and know for sure I have them to share. Unless something unexpected happens, I will have the whole day tomorrow for gardening.

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

Hello patrob, here is what I would like to start with, lol.

colocasia (small division in 4” pot)
…..’Fontanesii’ aka ‘Violet Stem’

daylilies (single fans, well-rooted, in 4” pots)
…..’Dancing with Julie’
…..’Fox Hunter’

irises, tall bearded (year-old rhizomes in 4” pots)
…..'Augustine'
…..’Can Can Dancer’
…..’Jungle Princess’
…..’Mary Frances’
…..’Oasis Sunset’
…..’Summer Olympics’

liatris mucronata (blazing star, gayfeather) (2, maybe more, in gallon pots)

I know some people have already asked for some of these and they are limited so I will take what I can get. I have Gingers and Brugs not on my list and will try to make it right, thanks.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Ken, I am waiting to hear back from Linda on which irises she wants, but I promise there are many more nice ones coming and more daylilies too. You and Maggi were so generous, and I made off like a bandit with a bunch of brugs and brug cuttings when I visited your place a couple of years ago after the fall RU, so you definitely have plants coming your way.

I have you down for

colocasia (small division in 4” pot)
…..’Fontanesii’ aka ‘Violet Stem’

daylilies (single fans, well-rooted, in 4” pots)
…..’Dancing with Julie’
…..’Fox Hunter’

2 liatris mucronata (blazing star, gayfeather) in gallon pots

irises to be named ASAP
