Here is a update of what i have been up to lately . This 5 1/2 ft birdhouse is my latest to date .Actually i just built this design twice , one for me and one for my cousin,s house .
The wood is 120 year old barn wood
These are 2 different houses .
Hey Cranbrook!! Nice to see you still at it. They just keep getting better and better.
Definitely masterpieces. You should be so pround and being a bird lover can just picture one of these in my front yard flower beds. I'm sure no one would ever have seen any like them.
You are a master of your art.
That is one beautiful fence design.
Is that a Little Giant ladder you used as a work platforrm? - clever!!
Not only are your birdhouses beautiful, that yard and property is too.
Thanks Bubba ! The ladder has 11 different functions . It goes from 4 ft to 16 ft in length . It is great if you only have a car . It also works great on stairs .
Here is a 12 x 16 cedar deck i added to my shop last summer .I needed more storage space for lumber underneath .
I cut a hole in the wall upstairs and added a 6 ft patio door and a small beer fridge into the outside wall .
The murals are done on corrugated aluminum . They are weather resisent and made to last a long time without fading .
Beautiful work. Thanks for the pics, and the inspiration.
Absolutely gorgeous! What do you use for a weathering finish?
Would love to see a closeup of the murals, did you do them as well?
I use a waterseal on the cedar birdhouses and the other houses are made from old barn wood so i leave them the way they are .
The wall murals are pictures i have taken in the past and then i send them into a sign store and they make these up for me . They are designed to last a long time even with our winters here in Canada .
Been a while since you have posted here, but I saw your name and birdhouse picture in one of my wood related magazines this week - congratulations!
Thank you Bubba ! I am still building lots of houses and now that winter is coming I will start posting more of them .
Here is one I just recently built .I bought a truck load of firewood (barn wood ) for $ 10.00 I salvaged out the good stuff and built this house with it .It is over 5 ft wide and weighs about 350 lbs .
Thanks for the heads up Bubba.
