SOLVED: 2 plants

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

The one on the right of the cherub is from a plant trade-has silver edged leaves and is almost ready to bloom now!
The other one could be a overgrown dandelion-i have no idea-do you?

Your overgrown dandelion reminds me of two things! Maybe a Verbascum - Mullen? Or Inula - Elecampane? Sorry, I'm not sure. Joy

Could it be Hesperis matronalis (Dame's Rocket?) mine kind of look like that this year (they're biennials, so I'll have to wait until next year for blooms)

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I think it might be a yellow dock plant. They have a very deep tap root and are hard to dig up. I lent my camera to my brother-in-law ... or I'd go out and take a picture of one to compare.

(Zone 5a)

The red ones on the right reminds me of Chinese lanterns.

Chinese lanterns are in the background-right to the right of the cherub-short ones!!!
yellow dock-should i pull it? Its not inula or verbascum!
