Any clues as to what this tiny butterfly might be? It is so ragged, I can't really tell what it is. I am thinking it might be a female Eastern Tailed-Blue. That's the closest one in my Butterflies of GA guide. I never did see it with wings open. It is sitting on a blade of crabgrass in my buckwheat patch.
Need a butterfly ID please
I would agree with your first two posts for sure. I don't know about the skippers though; they all look the same. Hopefully, some of the others will chime in. You could also post them on the daily butterflies thread; that's where most of us hang out.
i believe the black one is a black swallowtail..
I posted this in the bug ID forum. The answer there was Pipevine. I think its a Pipevine because of the large patch of blue on the hindwing. see http://bugguide.net/node/view/38328
The black swallowtail has a more segmented blue pattern. http://bugguide.net/node/view/128276 http://bugguide.net/node/view/108953
I've had a black swallowtail here though. It had a lot more yellow on it than the one posted above.
