Plant Id: can you help?

Adams, MA

I have tons of these plants covering a hill in my backyard. They are low to the ground (at least as of now) and have veiny, soft leaves. Located in western Massachusetts.

Check your per. Geraniums

Beautiful, BC(Zone 8b)

I agree. For a moment I thought it might also be Aconitum but Geranium fits better.

Could it be some kind of mallow, maybe?

Looks much like my Goldenseal - Hydrastis canadensis when the new leaves first emerge.

Somerville, MA

what color are the flowers? is it Wild Geranium [Geranium maculatum]?

Saint-Jean-sur-Riche, QC(Zone 5a)

I also agree with geranium.

Hydrastis canadensis, even new leaves, have a different margin that to say with sharp teeth.

Geranium on this picture have a round teeth.

I know it's a small technical difference !
