Did drought kill my OP's?

McGregor, IA(Zone 4b)

It was a very dry year in 2012, and not all of the gardens got as much water as they needed. I had 5 variously colored poppies planted in one area (no orange), and the only one that I see any sign of this year is Patty's Plum. I didn't realize they were so sensitive to dryness.

Caitlinsgarden, you should have seen top growth by now. I would keep the area watered for now to see what happen this fall. Hoping against hope!!

Poppies are not that sensitive to drought especially once established.
I bought Oriental Poppies four years ago. Read my post on the zone 9 poppy thread for my experience with returning poppies.
They may show up next year.
