Anyone else waiting for The Walking Dead to come back?

Mesilla Park, NM

I'm so waiting for the new season.. I know I'm not alone here! So let's hear it , anyone else waiting? Is there another thread regarding The Walking Dead? Ooh, I'm getting excited at the thought of summer being over and then fall to come.. I think the new season starts in October ..I wonder if it will show on Halloween ?

We just started watching The Walking Dead via Netflix, probably the first season. I'm enjoying it. What season is it up to now?

Mesilla Park, NM

I think it is up to season four.. You will get addicted to this program .. You can catch up fast with Netflix .

Albuquerque, NM(Zone 7a)

We use Netflix and Amazon more and more to download and follow programs
of interest. It's a minimal expense for the enjoyment we get. We purchased
and downloaded nine (9!) years of McLeod's Daughters and literally became
"binge watchers". I was truly sad when we got to the final episode.

Mesilla Park, NM

Me too, I am hooked on Grey's Anatomy .. I an not up to date yet. I watch the reruns during the day to catch up. I have not tried amazon, I wonder if we can use those iTunes cards, I got 100.00 gift card .

Huge Walking Dead fans in our family. Me, DH, 3 brothers...

Cannot WAIT for this season to start. We keep discussing what happened at last seasons closer.

Oh me too, my son , his wife, my dd and her hubby, thr grandkids.. We love it. I am getting addicted to the Vikings.. I love those movies

I live in the land of the Walking Dead and have never seen the show. Sounds like I'm missing something big. If it's on Netflix I'll give it a try. We have cable but avoid it. They do some WD shoots in and around our neighborhood but most of it is a little south of us. You can tell when production is going on because they put out signs guiding the xtras to the filming location.

(Zone 7a)

It's an interesting show. I recommend it to a lot of people and they've all liked it. You get your favorite characters and root for them to survive.

Just finished bingeing on season Four via Netflix....

(Zone 7a)

And...?

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

I tried a few but couldn't get into it. Most of my Netflixing happens while doing house chores. Best are shows that have easy to follow dialogue and not a lot of action or scene changes. Bones works well but I'm running out of episodes. Walking Dead is seriously lacking in the dialogue department. What with all the grunting and groaning SO rounded the corner one day, while I was watching and preparing dinner, and asked if I was watching porn! lol The next time I tried it I could hear him sniggering from another room. Don't you resent those people who laugh their way through a scary movie?

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

kwanjin- it was good!!!!!!!!!!

Laurel....I have to agree the gore and grunting is over the top for me at times. I've become inured to it. And what dialogue there is, is sometimes slightly soap opera-ish. But for all that, like kwanjin said, I guess I just get hooked on the characters and want them to survive, or not, or see how they react to situations and if it's what I would expect.. Normal human drama in yet another abnormal variation......It's something for DH and I to go brain dead on together in the evening.
Maybe you can play an audiobook while you do housework.

My brother and I had a discussion about WD this morning. He had just finished season 3 and was upset Rick and the others have a bad case of the Stupids. I told him to hang in there, it gets better. He did and has just texted me he's going to stay the course.

I'm finding the story and character development to my liking.

Mesilla Park, NM

I really like it too. The twists and turns are what keeps me watching too. Plus, I like Rick...

Sally, a number of years ago the selection of audio books at our library consisted mostly of donations but things have changed. I realized as I was typing the above post, along with your other post regarding recent reads, that's exactly what I need to be doing. Thanks. As for actually sitting and watching a TV program...that's just not something I could normally do. Not never but hardly ever.

Belmont, NC(Zone 7b)

We are HUGE walking dead fans. Was never into "horror" themed movies but this show is the best. Been a fan since the beginning and have watched all episodes over and over again!

Also #1 Grey's anatomy fan!!

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Hope you don't mind that I'm sharing this thread with my guy. We are getting such enjoyment out of your (plural) affections for Walking Dead. We can't go by a certain street in our neighborhood that has the rare piece of undeveloped land due to being in a flood plain. There have been wooded scenes filmed there and zombie extras at the local Waffle House having breakfast between shoots. If you are a true fan you may consider the Walker Stalker Cons. Then there's Hunger Games.

My daughter and her husband recently relocated to Atlanta. Awhile back the SIL decided he needed to stockpile Spam and canned corned beef. In case of a world disaster of course. Why he brought it to me, rather than donate it to a food pantry, is a mystery. I'm trying to figure out how to use this stuff and the guys are loving my Spam cookery. Where is this going? This past weekend, after polishing off a huge breakfast of Spam, potatoes and egg hash, (with tortillas, hot sauce, grilled peppers and onions) our oldest son remarked that we are going to be in serious trouble when the zombies come as we will have depleted our Spam stash. Oh woe.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

SPAM, Laurel? I never would have guessed. But I confess we like our canned corned beef hash. I have thought that's good survivor food too.

Last season a can of Easy Cheese made an appearance. You know, the squirt cheese in a pressurized can? Sure enough, there was a food sample person at the store recently offering it on crackers. Either Kraft pushed it to the show as part of a marketing plan, or the show liked it and Kraft is quickly trying to use the exposure for all it may be worth.

Zombies at Waffle House...too funny

Sally, please don't call me out on that other forum. I'm not a bred and born purist. My dad was in food manufacturing and the family was guinea pigs for all sorts of food innovations during the fifties and sixties including dyes, chemical preservatives, fake flavors, etc. I've eaten my lifetime carcinogenic quota for sure. That said, I didn't know what Easy Cheese was so I looked it up and I've never had Easy Mac. There are lots of still popular products that came later and I never tasted because I went natural (foodwise of course) after leaving home. It was the sixties ya' know.

I started Tropicana Nights a while back. http://www.amazon.com/Tropicana-Nights-Times-Legendary-Nightclub/dp/0156032600 Rosa Lowinger is such a talented writer though it seems she does mostly other things. I do other things too so I find myself bouncing back and forth with this book but it's easy to pick up again. The story is especially interesting to me since it commingles with my growing up history.

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

I realized I posted the second paragraph to the wrong thread. Mea culpa.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

No problem. That book got rave reviews from readers!

No Walking for me until it comes on Netflix.

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

I tried to prop the ol' eyelids up last night and dig in. Only marginally successful. Meanwhile I'm amazed that Walking Dead cannot go but a few days without being at the top of Google Entertainment news. Who would believe that dead folk could beat out Kim Kardashian's derriere as headliners?

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

Well, I for one prefer the zombies to the Kardashian nonsense!

(Zone 7a)

Me, too!

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

wondering if any new episodes are on Netlfix since what I saw last...

(Zone 7a)

Let us know what you find.

I'm loving the new season. But...all I can say is... Beth.

Mesilla Park, NM

My DH and I watch this together. It's the only show and noe Fear of The Walking Dead... we love, them. It starts today guys. If anyone,of you watch it. We even buy take out food ..it's almost like going to the movies together.

October 22nd starts The Walking,Dead season...
I can hardly wait.

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

We thought the zombies packed up and moved to L.A. but apparently not so. We don't watch but so glad you enjoy. They occasionally film around our neighborhood. A taste of Atlanta, Zombie capital of America. :>)
