Verbena bonariensis 'Lollipop'

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

I purchased this plant about 4 weeks ago, it is planted full sun, just like the "description" says to. Comments also state it is drought tolerant.... Mine was doing great until just a few days ago, and now it looks all dried up. [We have been pretty dry, no substantial rain for a few weeks] I have been watering it when the foliage looked wilty... but the past 2 days it does not look like it is bouncing back.

Is there anything I can do to save it?

I've thought of moving it to a shadier spot, and putting vermiculite in the soil to help keep it moister.

Should I give it a good soaking before replanting?

I'm at a loss....

Add some Hydrogen Peroxide to the Water. 1/2 cup to 1 gallon water.

I'll do that, thanks.

Also, what if I clipped back the crunchy, dead looking branches... do you think it may have new growth?

I was really hoping this would be a great plant for the butterflies.

Yes after giving it oxygen, cut off the crunchy dead looking branches. Watch for signs of some kind of pest.

thanks Sidney.
