Azomite Rock Dust

Anyone using Azomite Rock Dust in their garden? Gene

Algonquin, IL(Zone 5a)

I bought a huge bag from Brent & Becky's Bulbs in spring 2014 (they had the best price I found). I've only used very little of it so far because I need to redo my flower beds. I have occasionally tossed some into my compost bin, but I really haven't used enough to report any results, yet.

Have you been using it?

No, just read about it for the first time. Gene

Back in 2010 there were some very active threads discussing Glacial Rock Dust and other micronutrients. Green Sand and Azomite (volcanic) were also talked about a little bit. There have also been some interesting articles by Darius Van d'Rhys (darius) who, sadly, passed away last year.

Here are links to two of her articles.

Here's a link to one of the threads on Rock Dust. At that time not as many people were familiar with Azomite, but the general discussion is interesting.

Last year I discovered that Brent & Becky's (a DG Top 30) sells Azomite and they're also using it in their gardens and love it. Their price is reasonable ($34.95 for 44 lbs.) as is the shipping. Unlike most places that charge by the lb. they include it with the rest of your order at 10% shipping (or $7.00 minimum), unless that has changed.

They also have a 10lb bag for $17.95

Hope you find some helpful reading in these links. If you're looking for more let me know. I even found some good YouTube videos that show more about how to use it.

Gene - I've been reading about remineralizing soil and, according to the book, azomite or other rock dusts play a part in the process but I'm still reading.
