Please share anything about birds or any other (non-human) wildlife you see around you when you're out and about. It's nice to know what we have creeping, crawling or flying through our region!

Newbies always welcome

There's a blue jay swooping around my big dogwood, like he did last year. I'm not sure if he eats the berries, or just likes harassing the mockingbirds who do.

Here's a fun link. Maps of where certain birds spend time throughout the year

The only bird I see (mostly hear) is the Wren. Such a scratchy voice!

I think the babies are now full-grown and no longer screech for their mamas.
They will hang around here--not sure where they prefer to e in winter.

I put out a bunch of seed in a, sort of, secluded place--under the growth of my burning ushes
in the work table. Never saw a bird there. Moved the seed to my raised bed--
and i am sure it is gobbled up--by someone.

My patio is still all junked up with lumber and boards. been this way for over 3 months.
The Guy behind me was supposed to build me the new ledge by the basement entrance--
and, finally, backed out. He did give me a name of someone who is now working on it.
Should be done this week. This man has been working hard on measuring and prepping
all the holes and areas. He is a reap perfectionist.. I am glad of that...
I miss that ledge something terrible!!!!

THEN I can hang out my big bird feeder and see who finds it first....:o)
