Tropical Tree ID

Seguin, TX(Zone 9a)

This tree was spotted in Haiti and disperses seeds autochorously. Can anyone help ID it?

That capsule structure points to family Euphorbiaceae, but I can't go further than that.

Perhaps a Manihot grahamii (EUPHORBIACEAE) Ornamental Tapioca ??

Thank you TonyAus and sandpb, I think you both have me headed in the correct direction. Most of the plants that you are mention, sandpb, are more pointed. But, I do belive you both are on the right track. Thank you both.

How about Gymnanthes lucida? http://ecflora.cavehill.uwi.edu/image_detail.php?sn=Gymnanthes+lucida&iid=1643
Good call on the family, Tony.

Beautiful, BC(Zone 8b)

Reminds me of a Clusia.

Growin, I first thought of Clusia too, but the long pedicels are quite a distinctive character which does not seem to occur in Clusia. I still think Gymnanthes is a good match.

I think you're right with Gymnanthes. It just reminds me of Clusia, not that it is one. ;-)
