Thank you for adding that interesting bit of information. It should be noted that Amomum subulatum is one of several species of "black cardamom" in the Amomum genus, which differ somewhat in appearance and flavor to "green cardamom," Elettaria cardamomum, which I believe can be a little more particular with respect to growing conditions required to induce inflorescence and fruiting.
