Lordy, it's November, the next couple of months will be busy ones, ones we will feed off each other..fun time in the sewing chat room.

Look forward to hearing all about your day..

Was up early, furnace giving trouble so,was antad chilled, thankfully I've fireplaces upstairs and downstairs.
Decided to do a bit of organizing, why not start with putting Halloween away..that led to taking a few soacebags fullof my Christmas Quilts out and a few pieces I keep in closet, don't want mice in back shed enjoying them lol

Ziggy is enjoying the hustle and bustle, hate to move him off the Quilts as he seems to find them inviting, a place to rest awhile

Hard to believe it is November already.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Seems we were just there doesn't it..

Just gave Jeff the whatfore, he is going to take 2 weeks vacation outdoors this winter and is buying all kinds of things he thinks he needs..wel kid, save something for Santa.

Still in my Jammie's, taking a break from Santa's Workshop for the day, girls come to sew tonight but that is ok...making a mess with taking in totes, washing and ironing some Christmas pieces that were in storage.

Sooo just puddling around!

Victoria Harbour, ON

My condolences Sue, difficult for both you and Pat..

Look forward to seeing you more as well..

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

We didn't get any trick or treaters last night, but now have candy lol (like I needed it? no...... I didn't lol still trying to lose weight).
Tomorrow I go for my 6 week checkup in Calgary, so will be on the road a fair bit.

Inasmuch as I don't want to start Nov on a sad note, today my ex is getting assisted death - just spoke to our daughter, and she's on her way to pick he & his wife up to take them to the clinic for it. It happens at 1:30pm Central time.
Still trying to wrap my head around it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hugs and prayers for all Susan, no words!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

My sympathy Sue. It is good to see you again. Hope things quiet down and you can pop in more often,

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I agree, Betty - no words. I sent a bouquet of roses to my daughter Michelle, and spoke to her as she was going to pick him & his wife up. I was crying and didn't talk long as she didn't need my breaking down. She has enough on her own plate

(Linda Kay) Del Rio, TX(Zone 9a)

Sending our condolences as well Susan.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Susan sending prayers along with hugs..when will the burial be? I'm sure Michelle appreciated the flowers and knows you are hurting as well.

Soon I can play downstairs..cleaned hallway closet, nice to open the door and see it nice and neat, of course most of towels and bedding went to washer so they once again will be fresh...vacuumed and washed the floors, off to bring in 2 more Christmas totes, promised myself 2 this morning, 2 this afternoon then do same for next few days, did more than I should have yesterday and paid for it.

Once that is done it should be close to noon and I can play downstairs for the rest of the day, I've those 2 Christmas table toooers waiting to be quilted, maybe I can get them done and enjoy hand sewing binding on them tonight, I find that relaxing.

My sister is trying to encourage me to take a drive Saturday to Buffalo and take advantage of Joann sales, not sure I'm up to it seeing I'm going on the 17th and much to do before Christmas Workshop on the 12th.

That is about all going on in my world...
How about you?

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Susan, that must have been an agonzing decision for him & wife to make. Your daughter is very kind and brave to support and help them on this journey. I do understand the decision.
My Dad's funeral is over, and we need to start the beuaucracy part of it all now. filing with life insurance and the will, still so much to do. I don't know what we would have done without Paula, my BF. She was in WA due to a freind's memorial service and had planned to stay in Tri-cities for several weeks. My dad's passing came at a time she could help. She loved my dad so much, he was one of the few positive male influences in her life.
The picture is of the casket flowers my niece created. She sent me the picture so I could post. She works in Yokes floral department.

Looks so regal Pat..wonderful that Paula was there for you and your family.
Having gone through the paperwork even though you think you have most of it done before the death it's still overwhelming. Did you take the week off?Hugs

Still haven't made it downstairs except to set a few Xmas pieces down there, day is flitting by..will have lunch then go down and play

(Linda Kay) Del Rio, TX(Zone 9a)

Running errands today. Got my nails done, post office, vets office to get meds, then walmart.
Pat, I pray doing all that paper work goes smoothly for you.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lordy you've had a busy day..
Meant to ask, how was your quilting day yesterday.

It was good, I turned in three kids quilts, I have 3 more cut and ready to put together.
On the 15th, we have one last gathering for the year, then we will start back up after the new year.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Really going well then..drats just when you are inthe swing of things..oh well gives you something to look forward to come January.

I called country concessions to see when I can pick up my first 'monthly kit' for winter solstice project, not until 2nd or 3rd week in november

I actually took more than a week's time off. I left work early on the Thursday 10/26, the day my Dad passed away, and will not return until the Tuesday 11/7. I left a message for my boss that although I did not have enough paid time off accrued to access, I was taking the rest in unpaid leave. Actually we are supposed to apply & get approval for any unpaid time off. But really, what are they going to do about it? It is not like they are going to fire me over it.
Dad had been so sick, and Sis needed my help to care for him so much, that for the last 2 weeks of Dad's life I was spending all of off work days there & was terribly behind in all of my personal life. I'm starting to catch my breath now.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thanks for your condolences. I've been divorced from Steve for 21 years, so I don't suppose Michelle's thinking I'm grieving, although I am. It was Hallowe'en week when I told him I wanted a divorce, so it was a bit of a memory jolt to know he had chosen then to pass. I have no idea when the burial will be. I couldn't go anyway - can't fly until 12 wks past surgery, and Michelle said there would be no point to it ....... I sent her some flowers & a card stating that I know she'll remember the happy times with him. I didn't send flowers to his widow. though - couldn't afford to, but I'm more concerned with our daughter.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

With GS working down state now my sewing time is even less than before. Hope he finds them a home down there before long.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Drats Karen, was hoping you would have more time to do what you love....guess you are taking up the slack, wife isn't carrying her load I imagine.

I have about 4 hours left to do on aunt blanches quilt..machine still isn't working 100%, skipping stitches still but I can almost hear when it does so,I gomback and redo..will bring machine in again once the quilt is off. I put so much quilting init even if I snip a few threads it would never come apart.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Wife right now is napping even though she went to bed at about 9 P.M.

(Linda Kay) Del Rio, TX(Zone 9a)

Betty, maybe the machine just needs a good cleaning. Sometimes that helps my machine when it skips. Sometimes it is just the thread, machines don't like some threads.

Karen, I would make the biggest sign, NO NAPPING ALLOWED!

Victoria Harbour, ON

I almost think it's the bobbin case lindakay..going to order a new one, process of elimination..as for thread I always use the same make.shut the lights down there, tomorrow is another day, keep thinking today is Sunday.

Karen these young people can't keep up to us older folk lol hopefully it's not because she is pregnant.

Jamie drove in,I asked him if the garbage was his or a friend, said no but he cleaned it up.

As soon as I get Ziggy inside I'm calling it a night. He was in all day, I went to put pop cans in recycle and out he went.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Ziggy is an equal opportunist escapee. Hope your machine gets 100% again soon Betty.
Karen, me too, hope it's not pregnancy! My mother figured out I was pregnant long before I did on my first child! She said I was going to bed early, sleeping in & sometimes napping! Something NOT normal for me! After that pregnancy I also realized I get nightmares immediately as well and really painful back ache.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I can pretty much say she is not PG. The both of them are just bone lazy. I'll say one thing this time we are NOT moving them. We moved them up here and others did most of the work, Same when they moved to rental and then back again. This time they can arrange their own help. Which will most likely still be family.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Stick to your guns Karen. I know it's hard with the little ones but you need to do this.....Sending prayers for peace and strength....

Morning all, chilly here and rain/thunderstorm moving in this afternoon, better than the snow they say we will get Thursday.

Oiled my machine, tad better but still skipping stitches..I'm going to get through aunt blanches quilt (about 12 inches left) and do Mom's cross stitch quilt and bring it in again, not the end of the world, just annoying.

I along with the other Karen hope you stick to your guns..how far away are they moving? If far it would be difficult for family to do it, guess if family your way helped pack up and family where they are moving to helps unpack it would be doable.

How's the kitty and your quilt coming along Barb?

Pat, you start back to work this week right? Hope you've taken time to recoup..hugs

Sharon my supister called, wants to meet me at Lens Mill in Barrie at eleven, wants to shop for fabric then we will go out for lunch and maybe do the Molsons Craft show if enough time left.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

They will be moving downstate, eastside. There isn't any other family up here except for a cousin I see very rarely. He and his wife travel quite a bit for her job, she delivers medical supplies and "parts".

Happy Sunday all,

I keep hoping I'll hear happy news when I check in ... I just got off the phone with credit card provider and I had been hacked and had almost $4000.00 in fraudulent charges on my card. Taken care of now, but we are pretty sure where it happened with a credit card skimmer. Be sure I will double check all gas pump cc slots from now on!!!

Pat, take care of yourself and allow for the grieving process.
Betty, just saw a picture of Winter Solstice in one of my quilt magazines. Awesome job.
Karen, sure is hard when there are innocents involved isn't it. Stay strong.
Barb, did I mention your cat is beyond words.

Have a couple days to myself, hope to get some long put off projects finished...we will see!
Later then, Sue

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Having Paula here has been a huge help. We have been working on projects. Resting, running errands, getting caught up as best as possible. I am supposed to meet with Sis, brother at the attorney office on Wednesday morning for the estate stuff.
Friends came yesterday with their kids and raked, raked and raked more. They took home huge constructions bags of leaves, so many they were stacked above the cab of the pick up truck! Still have lots more.

The shed I ordered should be here in next 2 weeks. i am so excited to get started on that project. I ordered it with a loft and 3 sets of shelves already complete.

I bought the most gorgeous slim Christmas tree yesterday. I saw it the day before that but wanted to give myself time to think on it and be SURE. I have never spent $150 on a tree!!! https://www.hobbylobby.com/Seasonal/Christmas/Christmas-Trees/Slim-Arizona-Fir-Pre-Lit-Christmas-Tree---7-1-2/p/80152406 the picture does not do it justice. The branches are so life-like.

(Linda Kay) Del Rio, TX(Zone 9a)

That is horrible that your cc info was stolen. Glad you got it all fixed.

Beautiful tree pat.

(Sue) South Central, IA(Zone 5a)

Thanks Linda Kay, it was a blow to my ego, since I am always checking the ports you insert your cards into. They had notified me of a fraudulent charge and when I called to confirm, that was when I learned of the big ones!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sue you won't be responsible for the $$ spent will you? Here is hoping your pile of unfinished projects get finished or next to finished.

Karen that would mean your hubby has to help little ad up? Drats..

Pat you are keeping busy..how nice to have had help with the leaves..how glad to have a friend spend time with you..I'm excited for you re the shed, love mine but should have done a lift.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

GD did message me today to check which is my VFW sewing day so she can arrange it off.
. Glad she realizes how important it is to me.

(Sue) South Central, IA(Zone 5a)

Betty, no I won't be held responsible. Does teach me to check my email daily however. I've been sick and hadn't checked it for a few days. Had I caught the first notice, we could have avoided the additional charges.

Karen, at least something good is registering with her. We will pray your kindness and caring is starting to influence her just a tiny bit.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Thank goodness Karen! That is nothing you should ever have to miss because of someone else's needs.

As rarely as I check my email some weeks, Sue, I would be LONG ways into trouble with the CC. We have had issues off & on in the past.

I had my email hacked once and they send different links to friends and family. They sent a porn link to one of my sons. He responded with "thanks for thinking of me Mom". Funny thing was, the other links sent to others were not the porn. We had a good laugh over that. He was the first one to bring the hacking to my attention.
