SOLVED: need help identifying this plant

I found this growing in an empty lot in South Florida but can't identify it. It grows similar to bouganville on long branches and the petals have a dried appearance. In the photo it is the tall tan colored stem in the back and the close-up on the second photo.

It not clear which plant you are asking about in the first photo; in the second pic, the focus in on Holmskioldia.
