SOLVED: Spruce in Northern Illinois

Chicago, IL

Anyone know what type of spruce this is? Bluish on the ends but green otherwise.

That's a blue form of Colorado Spruce - quite common in midwest landscapes.

Picea pungens var. glauca is the scientific name. There are quite a few named selections, of which yours is probably one. The glaucous waxy coating (from which the blueness/grayness presents itself) on older season's needles usually wears away after a year, but some selections can retain it longer.
