(Linda Kay) Del Rio, TX(Zone 9a)

Susan, please check in. I know you were supposed to get some dental work done. Let us know you are ok.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Hi - sorry I was MIA
I'm fine, and so's Bob - just been so busy, and yes, I got dental work done - 3 teeth out May 31, and the last 6 our on June 7. They put my bottom partials in, and my full uppers. Mouth is a bit sore, and I can't eat much more than soup, yogurt & ice cream. I tried potato salad & can eat the soft potatoes & boiled egg, but not the gr onion or radishes. Ah well, it was tasty.

Victoria Harbour, ON

But how is the smile..glad you are doing ok..you know Iíve had 2 sets of dentures since in 50 years..never had them lined and I can eat anything, even corn on the cob..hope same for you.

Today will be a nothing day, my body told me that..

Going to sit outside and fo some hand sewing..

(Linda Kay) Del Rio, TX(Zone 9a)

Thanks for checking in Susan. Glad to hear you are ok.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Letís all sing, ďhappy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Karen, happy birthday to you!!

Hope itís a sunshine day in Tennessee filled with family and friends oh canít forget pressies too l9l

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Hi - dentures aren't "useable" yet - have to either take them out to eat, or blend.
Trying to toughen up the gums - not so easy. And, without a liner, I don't think I'm going to eat with them any time soon. The whole procedure caused havoc with my system - freezing going through my system caused me to get sick, then bronchitis hit me and lots of things in between. My health is better, just waiting until I can eat with my new teeth....

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

freezing going through system??

Marie and I completed the 2of 2 day of long arm class today and we have 2 Mondays reserved for the machine. I have plexiglass to practice my technique and patterns on, one for Marie as well. I have been focusing on patterns that include stars since several the quilts will be R/W/B.

I delivered 18 cabbage patch dolls shirts, about 12 for 18" dolls and probably 30 that will fit either. Marie rounded up fabric that will coordinate with the neon orange shirts I had.... now to find something for the eggplant purple shirts!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yes - I had to have a LOT of freezing. Lost count how many needles for 6 teeth. Long roots, and I don't freeze well. All that freezing - well, I had a reaction. Freezing on Friday am, sick to my stomach & cold sweats on Sunday evening - took to my bed. I was shakey & weak as a kitten. I could "taste" the freezing - it doesn't taste pleasant.......... That reaction lasted just the Sunday evening & night, thank goodness.

I am not familiar with "freezing". Is that what we call "numbing"? where they give you shots of anesthetic to deaden the pain?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Think that is what she means Pat..hope she is doing better..

Taking your advise Pat,brought in gnome.while doing birdhouse you have to wait for paint to dry so Iíll go back and forth..he is just too cute..1st coat on his jacket and pants, when it dries on to his had.

Getting dizzy look8ng at birdhouse checkerboard roof lol

Betty, do you mean gnomes, instead of knots?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yep, fixed it Linda Kay..

Calling it a night..did get a lot done re projects, gnome finished except for protective coat, still 2-3 hrs left of painting on birdhouse then the finish..base coating done, now the detail

(Linda Kay) Del Rio, TX(Zone 9a)

You have been busy. Sweet dreams.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Looking good Betty! What is the sun face on the table? Did you buy it casted or do you have mold?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Was a Christmas gift many many years ago from Suzanne. Took it down from the tree last year but with not feeling good set it on the shelf so back on the worktable it is, doesnít mean itís going to get done this year eitherlol

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Marie & I decided we would make several 18 Inch doll clothes with the cancer symbol on them to donate besides the doll. THAT probably will get more bang for the buck than the doll & wardrobe will. LOTS of people have somebody in their family they can buy an outfit for a doll for. Will appeal to more people.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Youíve given it much thought Pat, great idea

Thought SHARON might have come to bring me her batting so I could quilt her top that seems to have been here forever but she sent it with her daughter Nikki, so it will have o sit there till she comes

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

good morning - headcold has me down & out - drinking lots of fluids & taking cold meds

Victoria Harbour, ON

Nothing worse than a summer cold Susan..not up to sewing today so will look for fabrics for fall/thanksgiving bench pillow

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

you're right, Betty - thing is, it was just a cough every 1/2hour, until. a friend of mine & then a pharmacist suggested I take something for it. Now it's a full blown head cold & I'm coughing more - Buckley's & Neo Citron.... Bob wanted me to go to town with him - NOT! I'm staying home, & resting.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Smart thinking Susan best you stay home and get well.

Joanne just stop by for a visit she didnít stay long as she could see I was in so much pain that it the minute I turned my neck the pain shooting from neck to down my arm so only stayed a tad. Nice visit as always though she looks so pretty sheís lost about 25 pounds and she was a ray of sunshine today. She is having some Some kind a sale on the weekend and wanted to know if I have anything to put in it, did have four or five pillows but would have to make the inserts and Iím not up to that today did have one done plus 2 froggieís,Whatís the most I could give her for the sale

Still on the couch going to go and put in a half an hour outside wether itís just walking around said to waste such a beautiful day, might try the lounger near the pond

Sorry to hear you are in so much pain, Betty.

(Linda Kay) Del Rio, TX(Zone 9a)

Betty when do you see that specialist? Sounds like you have a pinched nerve?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Take it easy, Betty. Have you seen a chiropractor?

Victoria Harbour, ON

I have to call and see what is going on,with appt..they take forever..

Massage therapist said my neck was in spasm and likely pressing on a nerve..hoping in the morning Iíll see a big difference

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Muscle spasms can be terrible pain. hopefully with massage and the blue cream you mentioned in other thread, you will be feeling great soon!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Am feel8ng better, still tender but if I can keep not doing anything to aggravate it hopefully it will pass til next time, might go stateside tomorrow, please say that wonít be strenuous lol

Sitting here playing with cut out for wording for fall bench pillow as rain is in the air, inside day so guess itís sit on couch and play..wish I had wood, Iíd start on Sharons birdhouse, enjoyed painting last week.

Guess if I run out of fall fabric for the fall piece I could work on cutting pieces for the ďday at the lakeĒ quilt. Godsonís birthday this week 52, saw the panel I bought in Bird in Hand when I was in Pennsylvania not long ago, should be work8mg on that sooo lots to do for sure.

How about you all, what are you work8ngworking on?

Also when Sharon was here yesterday morning she called hummingbird fabrics where I buy fabric and machines and bought a wide throat machine like mine she loves..was a sale, saved $150 on it and she put the table that goes with it at no charge so she did good..am sure SHARON will love it

That's exciting for Sharon.... maybe you will have less quilts to work on for her this way?? I meant to say sorry that your mother is stirring up trouble. That is always a stressful situation. Wish I had magic words of wisdom to make it easier.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Some pf the stiff we donated for the fund raiser for family with teenager with cancer. The bear on the white shirt Marie made on her embroidery machine along with all the cancer appliques. the bright pink & brown is pants, the green next to it bear print pants. The first 3 outfits will be sold as sets, the first day will be sold with 19 articles of clothes including the white panties under the dress, black sandals I made and most of the clothes pictured in # 5 pic plus more.

Sounds like she got a nice deal on the sewing machine.

Pat, those outfits are so precious. Someone is going to be very happy.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg Pat, What treasures, they are designer doll clothes, you and your sister should go into the business...heart racing here just thinking at the child being given one of these..can you just see their faces..how generous with your time to make them so happy..

As for mom Sharon was telling me that Brian her son that lives with her (mom says he isnít) said she was having trouble with her old van yesterday and she said Ďwish I had taken that van Sharon was going to get for me..big sigh, do you think? She will regret being so cruel with Sharon...

Rained till just awhile ago, everything so wet thatonce I get myself together Iíll look at what designs I might have to see if I can find thin wreath embroidery machine wreath, just a few lines so I wonít have to hand stitch it on the fall piece Iím doing.

If all goes well, planning on going to buffalo for the day tomorrow..need to look to see what I might need, going more so to pick up galvanized flowers Debbie has for me..company wouldnít ship to Canada and Sharon ordered some kits so will have a visit at Cracker Barrel with Debbie..

Talked to one of the people involved in the silent auction. We had put 4 outfits together, a shirt & shirt or shorts. Those sold for $10 per outfit. The doll with 17 articles of clothes, wig & sandals: sold for just $25. (Pink party dress with black rose trim,White panties, Black sandals, Silver & Black turban with bow,Black velvet shrug & Black tights, Pink ruffle top with cancer symbol, Pink floral shorts, Pink Batik skirt, Black sequin embroidery skirt, White tank top with bear applique, Bear print long pants, Pink & Brown floral pants with pockets, 2 piece Pink & White zebra print bathing suit, Pink hat with Green & White flower trim, long blonde curled wig, Pink print drawstring back pack to store all clothes in)

We won't be donating a doll & wardrobe again!! We'll stick with 2-piece outfits Oh well! Between all their fund raising activities (including a raffle for riding lawn mower, etc) the raised almost $18K for the family to help with costs of treating their 16 YO daughter's cancer. In September they start fund raising for family with 2 YO son's cancer.

(Linda Kay) Del Rio, TX(Zone 9a)

Pat, that bid is almost an insult. I think I would have bought it to bring it back home.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

It is what it is. I did not attend the event so I don't know how it went. My friend told me a grandma, who was a cancer survivor, bought it for her granddaughter. I'm just glad I didn't donate several of the dolls! But yes, for $25 I would have bought it back just so I could use all the clothes. That would have split up to two wardrobes for our Christmas donations.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oh Pat - all the work that went into those outfits... more than $10 & $25, for sure!!

Well, my cough is better, but my lungs have some fluid in them that wasn't there when I had an echo for heart & lungs in March. Saw my family Dr yesterday & he wants to know WHAT changed since March. He sent me for blood tests & will call me back for a followup. In the meantime, I got some OTC cough syrup that's working a treat for me - Calmylin, which contains codeine and is working whereas the Clarithromycin (antibiotic) isn't. I sleep like a log with Calmylin! My cough is much better for it, too

Victoria Harbour, ON

Great news Susan..rest a lot, donít overdo..when is Susan com8ng for her vacation..seems you are Iíll most years she visits..
