I live in zone 8a in central Texas. We built a house on a lot that has this row of existing trees. Most have multiple trunks. They are evergreen and have opposite leaves which are pretty sturdy. All are around 20+ feet tall. Late summer/early fall I noticed the clusters of fruit and they were bright purple (similar to beautyberry fruit). The fruits have matured to dark blue/black. All of the fruit grows from the ends of the branches. The trees send up tons of suckers. We just moved in end of November so I have no clue about flowers. I was thinking some kind of Privet, but this fruit starts as bright purple and our trees are kind of vase shaped. Been going nuts trying to identify these.
